Beam me up! All its missing is one more 'D'.

Every Star Trek geek knows what a PADD is and since hearing of the Apple tablet who hasn't wanted it to be called the iPADD?

Get me an LCARS interface and I'll get two!

I like iPad better than iSlate (the TV show 'slate' makes me think of is 'Little House on the Prairie') but its going to sell regardless of its name.

I would like all the PADD's features though - 'push' interface from external devices and programs as mentioned in the recent Apple patent, ability to access all my LANs and MobileMe cloud data.

Apple had all kinds of names in mind like "TouchPad", "iScratch", "MagnaDoodle", "GrannySmith" and "ReDelicious".

But in the end it will be named "The Rumored Apple Device®", since that has the most market recognition after all this speculation.

iPad sounds very close to iPod. I still think it will be called iSlate though.

I like it (if it's true.) It's close enough to iPod. Which is a good thing, actually.

ACTUALLY NOT! It would often cause confusion and Apple which is the KING of branding would never be so stupid to do such a thing! Can you imagine people is Boston talking about them both lol?

Always thought it should be called iBook, but only if it has 2 screens.

And it WON'T! End of story!

"iTouch" would be the most fitting. Not to be confused with the iPod touch.

No offense but you people are CLUELESS! Everyone calls the iPod Touch the iTouch already. There would really be no confusion there at all lol! Leave the branding to Apple people!

Horrible, sounds like an Apple branded feminine hygine product.

AMEN! It sounds like a freakin' tampon for crying out loud! iSlate sounds MUCH better!

My bets are on, "The Device formerly known as Newton™"

I know that others and myself have said this before, but why not iBook? I mean, it fits, it's easy to say and remember, it's basic, and Apple already has all the trademarks on it? Perfect surprise name!! From their own vault. Perhaps to throw off the industry?

Always thought it should be called iBook, but only if it has 2 screens. iPad=1 screen; iBook = 2 screens
