What's so weird about this blemish is the illusion it has on your eyes.

Open up anything with a white screen and look at it from ~2-3 ft away. You can see the blemish pretty clearly. Then, slowly move it closer to your face and all of a sudden, it starts to fade away...

Retinal saturation. :D

I returned my 64GB Rose Gold because of the Pressure poit defect hard to see but its there and will Only Grow as teh screen ages.

My Apple store set asside a new Second Batch of the Rose Gold you can tell by the SERIAL number which phones are from the second printing or new run.

This one is PERFECT and the Display has to be 400nits Its SUPER BRight and colorfull Apple really did something they just won't admit it.

The blemish will not grow with time. If anything i figure it will go away since people have used suction/massaging to get rid of it.

I noticed a very faint grey area in that part of the screen before I read this. So it definitely exists. I thought mine was my screen protector, but it appears to be the screen. Very faint, but I could see it growing with age.

Why would it grow? Explain please?

Whoa, did someone a page ago mention they were getting a lawyer over this? I get the impression that may be too much of an extreme in this case.

Just speculation. I had a PowerBook G4 years ago that had what was then called the "dreaded white spots". It was caused by spacers in between the screen and the lid and was new to that model. I didn't see it when I first got it, but did over time. After a a few months of use, they were very apparent, especially on solid backgrounds. Apple recalled the screens and it was replaced no problem.

FWIW, this doesn't bother me. I have never had issues with Apple support over the years. I just chimed in with a "me too". If it gets "bad", I'm sure Apple will fix it.

Really glad to hear there's a "happy ending" to this!

Thank you and yes, me too; I'm keeping the phone as it's made a real difference. My Android-using friend who spotted the mark immediately on Friday looked again today and was impressed at the change; I had to point it out. It's barely noticeable now (initially it was very obvious) and I tell myself that in the coming year if the mark gets worse then I will make an appointment to have it looked at in store with a view to getting a screen replacement.

Ideally, no-one should have to do this on a new, expensive phone but we don't live in an ideal world and quite frankly returning it would have been a pain.

I do have a numb patch in the centre of my right, index finger and thumb from the screen massaging. It really took a long time.

I'd like to post that but for a few reasons I won't #1. Currently working with a lawyer to see if he takes the case on a contigency basis #2. Its too easy to decipher my Serial Number by posting this maybe you can't but others out there can I've seen it done.

Also theres tons of videos of whats happening on YouTube some worse some less But everything from Pressure Points, Yellowish Tint to white, and others its definite worth a Display Gate issue had Kim Kardasian posted Apple would have responded but right now its a bunch of no bodies. Posting on forums

Also Apple will only respond if its out of the "NOrm" so many displays they expect a certain percentage of defective phones period that is normal. They only test 100 out of each 1,000 batch.

Now if a reported defect exceeds a certain number they they take a closer look. who knows if theres a cover up why Apple made a revision so quick. Why?

Seems a bit "extreme" don't you think? Why not just get it exchanged and move on with life?

Just got back from apple store and purchased 6S+ 128GB. I have the exact the same thing happening on the screen. Little upset about it, but otherwise phone is flawless. I might keep it though, it does not distract or do anything, it's just looks like a faint pressure mark. The next one could have exact the same thing too. On other hand maybe worth trying to get one without the screen mark...

did you reserve one for pickup or just did a walk-in?

I cant seem to get any 6s+ 128gb reserved for pickup :(

I would not quit your job. By now if he talked to a lawyer, which I doubt, he will find no one will touch his issue. He simply needs to return his device and move on with his life.

His specific problem has nothing to do with what your thread is dealing with.
Yes, but there's no time for logic, I'm trying to get free money.

I did reserve it, try to find it at exact 8 am, also use istocknow.com to locate it before 8 am, because at 8:01 after reserving it it was not available. good luck!

If there is really a second revision of these phones, the people in this thread are going to attack all of the apple stores asking for a specific serial number or factory. I can't wait to see the madness, just like the retina macbook pro screen craziness.

I don't think it's a second run. It's the same run, you just happened to get a nice phone. Odds are just that.

I would really like to see someone tear down one of these phones with the issue and see what exactly is causing it. It has to be one of the clips on the screen or the shielding on the back pinching the screen. Something is up. I don't believe it's the haptic engine. Could be wrong but that's too far above the spot for it to be that.

Would this really be corrected with a "second run" already? I would love to be optimistic as it seems like a very widespread (and easily correctable) issue, but I have my doubts...

What is everyone planning to do in the meantime? Live with it and get it replaced down the road if need be? Seems pointless to exchange now. FWIW, I have been to multiple Apple Stores in Minnesota, and every 6s Plus had it.

So I returned my Silver 64 GB 6S+ last week due to this issue and dark corners. Despite thinking that I was going to wait a while before getting another phone, I picked up one today when one of the local Apple stores got some stock.

At this time I gather I have seen more than 50 6S+ in the various Apple stores and they all have the blemish to one degree or another. The phone I just got still has a slight blemish, but the screen consistency is much better than the last I had. So far I would say that this is one of the best 6S+ screens I have seen.

To my eyes it seems that the 6S+ has a problem with the display not appearing flat. It bends slightly away in the bottom left and depending on what angle you are holding the phone the problem is more or less severe, with it being best looking head on. It looks like the glass is distorting the image ever so slightly, and I'm finding that there is something unpleasant and fatiguing about this display as compared to my old 6+ display.

As well as the distortion there is a slight color temperature and contrast change which makes it look like the gamma is too low.

I thought initially that I would keep this 6S+, but now I am not so sure. These things are $1300 here in Canada and it's not reasonable to be uncertain at that price. I feel that Apple will probably silently resolve this, but that resolution may leave current owners out in the cold.

Anyways here is a comparison pic. Like I said it's one of the best 6S+ screens I have seen so far. You can figure out which is which.

On the left.

One on the right has more grey at the top and the issue in the bottom left.

Doesn't really matter. They both have screen issues I can see from here. Doesn't bother me.

The one on the left looks better.
It's funny you should mention the screen being fatiguing. I was coming to that impression myself and thought it might be my screen protector.

Just wanted to drop in and say this is terrifying. Wow.

Will glad when Apple uses OLED, the tech is ready enough now. I have had many phones over the last 10yrs and I have only had issues with the screens Apple uses.

I have had many HTC phones such as the HTC HD2, Diamond, Tytn 2 and many others from them, every screen was nice and uniform. Had a few Samsung phones that have had OLED screens and again, nice and uniform and white.

But apple it tends to be very unpredictable what the screen will be like. Apple needs a good kick up the ass and source better screens. I would be more than happy to pay extra for a quality panel.
