I was extremely disappointed on launch day to get my $1300 phone out of the box and lay it next to my old 6+ only to see right away that it had dark corners and the blemish shadow. The display was visibly inferior to the older phone and it was a big let down after all of the hype.

Apple must know the displays are not as good on the new phones, but they sent them out anyways. I feel a bit cheated by this, especially at the silly prices the phones go for. I don't think it's all OCD on my part, but rather there is a bit of consumer anger involved as well.

The picture I posted is of my second phone which was the best screen we had seen here on a 6S+, but it still had darker corners and the pinched glass blemish. The picture doesn't really do it justice to what you see in the hand or at any angle.

Anyways I ended up getting a phone I can live with now, and it is so much better than the first two I feel the effort was worth it and would recommend that anyone who is unhappy do the same and clearly tell Apple why.

How many replacements did you get? From what I recall, you're on your 2nd replacement?

Apple doesn't give a **** if you are still giving them $1300. Return it and get your money back if you want them to listen.

I received a replacement 6s+ today due to a bad modem. The replacement still has the blemish but it's much lighter than my previous. It's barely even noticeable now and was pretty much imperceivable in the store.

The Genius said he would have replaced it for the blemish alone. He was able to spot it pretty quickly.

Just had my silver 6S+ r placed yesterday and it does have the pressure point blemishes low brightness, but the upper left corner looks off color compared the rest of the screen little more yellow tHan the rest of the screen

Checked all my iPhone 6s+ and anyone that will let me check their phone and I haven't seen any with this blemish.

I rather have a blemish than half yellow screen.

You can add another one to the list. PP blemish in bottom left corner on my RG 6S+. I don't think I would have ever noticed it, but now that I've seen it, I can't stop looking at it...

I had an obvious blemish on the bottom left corner, I only noticed it because I decided to check my screen for any defects last night before going to bed, played with brightness against various backgrounds

I took it to the Apple Store and was told they have no iPhone 6s Plus in stock and that I had to reserve another one online... I put up a fuss and requested the manager, he went away and came back with a replacement "oh look what I found"

This replacement phone also had the blemish but it was far less noticeable, none of the Apple staff could see it... Or so they say and would not swap it for another. I decided to keep this one as its only noticeable on certain backgrounds (mainly this forum) and even then I have to look for it otherwise it's not noticeable. Like a previous poster commented, they all have this blemish. It's just some haven't got the eye to see it and they do vary from iPhone to iPhone. You'll be waiting months before Apple fix this problem and/or they have enough stock

My post got lost in the mix... but I'll ask again...

Is Apple typical about replacing units a few months after owning for reasons like this?

They will replace it IF they can see it. I had a very small white blotch only 1mm in diameter and only visible on a white background on my iPad Air 2. It was months old and they replaced it, I'm guessing it was a referb as there was no box etc.

Like you, my apple store has none in stock... Just called.

Will still take it in tomorrow to get it evaluated. Hoping for a situation different than yours... I want to make sure I can open up as many as I see fit before I'm satisfied... The rep said they can open it with me on-site.

Looks like I'll be with the blemish until stock is refilled. This has to be a standard 1 yr warranty-honorable replacement. Maybe I'll get a replacement in a few months.

Goodluck, if you get one which is so subtle like mine that half the people cannot see it /facepalm I would just keep it as it seems to be a design fault not a manufacturing one.. In other words they will all have this issue to varying degrees.

If they don't have a replacement they will order one for you, at least that what the Genius told me yesterday. It might take a few days but you'll get a replacement. Luckily, they had one left when I had my appointment.

Thanks for the luck! My ideal situation is to get hands-on with these replacements with the rep so I don't have to risk getting one mailed to me with a blemish...

While you seem to say it's a design fault - you're absolutely correct. However, I firmly believe that this has to be a manufacturing flaw. 6s's have nearly identical screen components, so I wonder why those models don't have the blemish.

I'll see about getting a replacement this way, regardless. Does a genius put notes on your account/Apple ID about these things? I want to put all my concerns on the table for them to put in writing.

I've tried looking thru most of these pages but it seems NO ONE has received a unit without this spot? Some just can't see it or some are less severe than others it seems? I had a Silver Tmo 64GB 6S+ that had it. I can deal with almost any defect EXCEPT when it comes to the screen. I returned it and bought the smaller 6S and the screen is flawless. But I've been missing the bigger screen size and would love to exchange it before my 14 days are up. But I couldn't stomach getting another one with this spot on the screen. So...sounding like this is a problem with all units...just to varying degrees?

So I'm returning my 6s plus :/ I thought that this lottery display thing would be something somewhat of the past but I have bad back light bleed on my replacement 6s plus plus dark areas again in the corners, I'm going to sticks with my note 5 for a little bit until thing settle down a bit

I've never seen a 6S Plus without the defect to some degree. I was back at lunchtime today at the local Apple store and checked out the demo units and there was only one that had a screen as good as the 6S+ that I have (it took two replacements to get mine).

I spoke briefly to the staff there about whether or not I could change the phone through Applecare+ if future production phones were perfect and they said if there was a fault then it would likely be a display replacement. YMMV.

got

I don't have it.
There are others that don't have it either and have posted here.
There are also about 13M more people who haven't posted here that they have a problem.

I'll post back with my findings at the local apple store tomorrow afternoon.

Seriously, only 1 display model without a blemish? That sucks! Can you go into a bit more detail on how your replacement process worked? Did they be patient with you as you opened multiple phones? Do you now have a phone with no blemish at all?

The rep i spoke with on the phone said that he had never heard of the blemish issue before (what a surprise...), but reassured me that it would be addressed without issues anytime during the standard year-long limited warranty.
