It appears early builds has this. I'm on my first replacement. I noticed the blemish last week so I returned it. While waiting, I did check a couple of demos and they have it. Some not as noticeable. My replacement has it still. My replacement does have much whiter and brighter screen. Even more vivid than some of the demos I compared to. I also noticed the battery is much better than the previous phone. Now it's a Samsung and previous phone was TSMC. Lol go figure. I don't really care about the cpu, I'm more concerned of screen defects.
I called Apple and recommended to exchange the phone again on Monday. But based on what I read, chances are the replacement will have it. I will probably go and compare the new replacement with what I have now. If the issue is the same, so you think I have the option to just keep what I have? I really don't want to risk not getting a bright white screen.
You might try 20 devices until you find one with a perfect screen...but then it will have a loose power button or something. If you can live with your phone, ie if it has no serious defects, then keep it. My display isn't perfect; it has the 'binding' thing at the top and a very faint blotch/pressure mark on the lower left of the display, but it's an overall perfectly acceptable phone. It's just stressful, embarrassing and a butt-load of hassle to keep exchanging phones.
Yes I'm leaning towards keeping this now. If any, I'll just have them document that I will try again down the line for an exchange.
You are so right. I went through that replacement loop back when I first got the iPhone 4. At the end, I never got what I was looking for. Every replacement introduced a new defect. It was just a waste of energy and time. Along with the fact that it is very embarrassing having to keep returning the phone that most people will not even bother or notice.
Don't get me wrong, a serious defect would have me marching down to the Apple store straightaway but knowing mass-produced items as I do and the fact that the price seems to have little bearing on this, I would know when to say 'stick' and not keep on 'twisting'. It can turn into a nightmare. You're thinking that one more exchange should do it but when you walk out with that replacement you're oblivious to the fact that you'll be doing it again tomorrow...and the next day...and the day after.
Most will have this lower left blotch/pressure point but some have additional yellow screen defects, loose buttons, dodgy home buttons and inferior batteries etc. I know that it shouldn't be this way but chasing iPhone perfection is a very stressful and time consuming endeavour.
I didn't go through all 28 pages, but are there any photos or videos showing this blotch defect? I can't even find anything doing a Google search.
Anyone get their screen replaced under warranty yet for this issue?
The fact that the 6S Plus is out of stock everywhere for the most part until basically late October is good news to me, hopefully the next wave of phones made will address stuff like this, or god forbid make sure there's a TSMC chip in every phone. =P
I have along with some other people in this thread. Most have shared they experience, read through.
I have and only saw where folks got thier phone replaced not just the screen. It seems like the geniuses don't want to bother replacing the screen.
so having noticed that the right hand side edge of the screen on my 6S plus is slightly blue (its like a 3mm stripe of bluer white running down the edge of the screen - I believe the term is 'book spine effect') I've become minority obsessed with 6S plus screens! Having looked at about 20 phones on display (across 3 of London's Apple stores) I can conclude:
I've noticed that on my last 2 6S Plus's as well. But my sim-free model does not exhibit this "Book Spine" issue.I've just bought 2 week37 Gold iPhone 6s Plus's and they too have this blue stripe down the right hand side. Identical on both. IMO, the chance of have 2 phones with the same 'fault' is very slim.
As much as I'm not happy not having a uniform screen, I think this is just characteristic of the screens in the Plus and they will all have them to some extent.
Anyone else have the SIM-free version and can confirm they don't have a blotch?I've noticed that on my last 2 6S Plus's as well. But my sim-free model does not exhibit this "Book Spine" issue.
