Got my 6S today and it has the issue on the top left corner. Also the screen is much brighter on the bottom than the top. Tired of Apple's **** screen. Not in the mood to play the exchange lottery. Sticking with my 5S
I also got a phone like this.. Is this a defect or all phones have this issue...

As I mentioned in other thread, I'm on my third iPhone right now and all of them had this issue. I also checked the display units and every single one of them had this issue as well. So the answer to your question is yes to both: it is a defect, and it seems like this is a pretty common issue with the 6s.

Is it worth taking to exchange now or should I go next year until the exchanges get better.. I don't know if it's worth risking and getting a worse phone..

Every 6S I've seen has some variation of this - either dark corners or uneven backlight in general.

If you're not happy, I would get it swapped out. Life's too short not to be happy. Just bare in mind you might need a few swaps before you get one you're happy with.

Note I said 'happy with' and not 'get a perfect one'.

I don't see the pressure point on the photo you've provided.

The only "issue" I can see is the spotlighting on the top, I have that too as did most other ones I've seen.

I certainly wouldn't risk exchanging, as chances are you'll have the spotlighting plus a few more issues. Also from my own experience the "pressure point" does vary in how pronounced it is, some of them I've seen have been ridiculously visible, and I wouldn't tolerate those ones.

You won't get a perfect phone, and if you analyse anything long enough you'll find issues. Unless its anything obvious that effects your usage I'd stick with it.

Don't get me wrong I'd love a "perfect" phone but they don't exist.

As for the pressure point...it might be there and he may have one that is very faint and only really noticeable when scrolling. In any event...I have been preaching this for awhile about there are no perfect phones. People fight a battle they will never win. Not only does it take up a ton of time but it becomes more frustrating if you keep exchanging/repairing and on top of that receiving a device that has more issues than the one you just parted ways with.

Yeah totally.

From my own experience, when I used to be a serial exchanger is that ironically after going through multiple exchanges, the original device would end up being the best one.

Unfortunately when you go through the exchange process, it often ends up being a case of swapping one "issue" for another, or if you're really unlucky adding another "issue" on top of the one you already had.

But at the end of the day it comes down to what you can tolerate, there are certain things I can't tolerate and if I went through an exchange and the issue was still there I'd give up, but normally in the past I'd have gone through 8 or 9 exchanges without hesitation.

The reason I don't now is mainly the fact that perfection doesn't exist...In any mass produced product, regardless of cost, and as you said the amount of time, and hassle it takes trying to convince the retailer that I have an issue.

Makes you wonder if buying the first run production phones is a good idea? Maybe waiting a few months after launch is a safer bet. I toyed with the idea of getting a 6S+ but I don't think I want to even bother now.
Maybe. But I had a launch day 4S and a near launch day 6S Plus and I have had no problems.

I agree. I have never had a "perfect" phone. I saw references in this thread to how much better OLED is! This is simply not true as I have had several Samsung phones including the S5, note 3 and note 4. They ALL had screen issues of their own. In the case of AMOLED, the most common defects are, screen tints towards sides/edges. So for example, one might have a pinkish tint on one side, and a greenish tint on the other. Another issue is they actually vary in viewing angles, with some having very strong colour shifts just slightly off centre. And the other common one is "blotches" and unevenness on very dark (almost black) screens. So for example those who choose the dark theme in Tapatalk which is a very dark brown, highlights low level responsiveness changes across the screen, or what looks like someone spattered ink across the screen.

The bottom line is that there is no holy grail of mobile phone screens that gets rid of all these issues at this current time in technology.

As for my 6S plus, I read with dread this thread just before receiving mine. Mine is a week 35 production. If I hadn't seen this thread I would never have spotted this "pressure point". I do have it, but it is VERY slight indeed. I have to deliberately look for it, even when scrolling...my eyes are not drawn to it. It is not visible if the screen brightness is high at all. Fortunately this phone is also a TSMC chip, so its a keeper for me...but it ain't perfect!

In what way does the "pressure point" issue become more obvious while scrolling?

By virtue of the fact that different coloured pixels are moving past the affected area and "changing" their appearance for a moment, tends to make the eye more drawn to an anomaly than if you just stare at a white or grey screen.

Got it. Thanks!

This... This is what I experience. Just on a static screen, the thought comes across, I must be crazy to complain. Then I scroll and reassure myself, no I am not imagining it.

My 15" rMBP screen is flawless. My iPhone 6 Plus screen is flawless. Not so with the 6S Plus.

not sure what you guys are seeing. I have a perfect screen on my 6s plus.

Two scenarios -

You have a perfect screen, we are happy to hear that it's possible and will look forward to getting ours.
Second scenario, you just haven't noticed the spot, until someone shows it to you.

Oh please, you keep saying that but you refuse to post any picture proving it.

Face it, everyone has it. Your eyes just aren't sensitive enough to see it.

I can't figure out what I'm supposed to be seeing. I don't see a spot or a book spine. I scroll and I see nothing except what I'm scrolling through.

I just got a 6s plus, and I'm pretty happy with my screen. Is it perfect...no, but I have yet to get a perfect flat screen on any product (television, laptop, iPad, etc.). They all seem to have some issues...if the problem is minor, and not distracting, it's probably best to accept it. You may end up searching forever to find a "perfect " screen.

In my experience 9/10 iPhone 6s Plus' I have seen have this blemish. I am not saying he doesn't have it but, it is plausible. My 3rd iPhone 6s Plus doesnt have it.

Photos attached. I am sure someone will claim they can see it in my images :p Also note that I have an antiglare screen protector on.

Im on my third 6s, now as i had to replace the first 2 due to various faults (clicking screen, faulty home button).

This one is flawless, however the screen uniformity is now far from optimal - unfortunately. The second 6s had a similar issue, but there it was hardly noticeable. Its always the same hassle - you just trade in one issue for another...

About 1/4 of the upper part of the display is dimmer/darker than the rest and there is a fingerprint-sized darker spot on the upper left part as well. So, when browsing webpages like google or macrumors for instance it can be spotted - the lower part of the screen is white whereas the top part is more like a light grey.

However, i couldnt spot this "pressure point blemish".

I really dont want to go through another exchange through my carrier and wait for the replacement, as i sold my 5s last week. I guess, as i planned on buying apple care+ anyway, i m going to ask for an express exchange in a few weeks or even months. It shouldnt be a problem with this kind of screen and an express exchange is always a fast and easy way to get a replacement.

The pressure point which occurs on the bottom left of the display is an issue isolated to the iPhone 6s Plus.
