I have a question for those of you that have the blemish. I have a purple and blue blemish on the bottom left. I've noticed when switching tabs in safari, or switching apps, that the purple spot.... Shakes? I can't feel it or anything but it looks like it's vibrating or something. Anyone else have this? I don't want to go through the hassle of returning and rebuying, I just got this one yesterday :(

If it bugs you a lot and you want to rid of the issue, you probably have no choice but to return it :(

I can deal with the blemish, I just want to make sure that the fact it looks like it's vibrating isn't symptom of a bigger problem. I'll call apple and ask :)

I bought a new one (keeping my old one that has the blemish but a just mid-yellow tone and almost no gray area on the top), and it doesn't have the blemish and the tone of the screen is blueish... but it has a dead pixel!!!!! :/

I think I'm gonna stick with my iPhone 6 plus this year...

Here's mine. It has a slight blemish which is hard to capture.

So just when I thought I was out of this, I got pulled back in. A guy in the building next door bought a new SG 6S Plus this morning and just by chance I saw it and it was perfect.

I immediately did a reservation at the same store and picked one up as well and it's perfect. And I don't mean "You can only see it if you are looking for it" like my last phone, but rather this one is flawless. Not only does it not have the blemish but the display has a completely different level of quality. It's like the glass is clearer and completely non reflective and you can't really see the glass in front of the display at all. As well as no blemish, there is a great consistency and none of the subtle blue book spining down the right side. I'm pretty impressed, it's a great display. It's miles away from any of the 6S Plus phones I had used previously.

I think there is no doubt Apple is correcting this display problem at the factory. This phone is a week 42 so it is very new.

So after five 6S Plus purchased I have a phone I am very satisfied with, rather than one I am just settling for.

And next year if I do get a new phone I am not going to pre-order. If I hadn't received such a terrible phone on launch day I wouldn't have had to do any returns, or been angry enough to pursue it.

Yeah thats why you keep returning. Don't let Apple get complacent. I wish I would have waited. I bet they already knew about it but couldn't fix it until now. I'm never preordering again either. How long do you think before the replacement stock gets replaced by these?

If there are other differences beyond the blemish, then that means it's a different display from a different vendor. Just like the chipset (Samsung/TSMC), Apple usually use 2 screen manufacturers as well. It sounds like you got one from the "other" vendor...whoever that is. I have seen a week 41 6S Plus with the issue. I suspect its just a lottery, like the A9 chip.

You have got to be kidding me....I thought I was doing good not worry about the very faint blemish and now it seems there may have been a change in production. It would be nice if a few more could chime in but it seems like it could be promising. I am close to making a reservation myself.......the saga continues

His is week 42 so they may have just fixed it which probably means they switched vendors.

I seriously doubt it. I recall that they only have one vendor for the 6S+ LCD. I am pretty sure that the vendor that puts together the LCD hardware (3D Touch, others) have fixed the production then it runs down the factories for assembly of iPhone. Mine was a week 41 with two blemish. I already sent it back and ordered the regular 6S. Now I'm thinking that I might regret the order as this 6S+ situation may be fixed by week 42 and over. Anybody else with week 42 that can contribute to this thread?

Cheers.

My week 42 6S+ has the worst screen of the four I've had. Major binding at the top and also the 'pressure point' lower left.

I know you say this isn't there but the photos show the common blue tint down the right hand side and at the bottom.

In the hand you can't see anything, the darkness and lack of focus on the right is mostly an effect of having to use the camera lens at its widest to get such a close shot. If I had shot it with the camera over the right side it would look fine. The phone I had before this did have a very slight blue spining on the right.

What is your source for only being one supplier?

I read that during the launch that the 6S+ had a huge backorder (4 weeks) is due to "A" LCD vendor had difficulty manufacturing the backlight.

Looks like the way it was written. Apple used one vendor but ran out of parts. They had to get more from 2nd vendor. Perhaps the backorder is caught up. They went back to one vendor again.

"a" LCD vendor having problems doesn't mean there was only one though.

If apple isnt' relying on one mfr for proc, I'd imagine same case with screen

Yeah it could just be luck and there is no reason to draw a conclusion that the screens are getting better. In my case they did get a bit better from phone to phone.

All of the display units at the store (Pacific Centre) were terrible.
