Here in Greece the carrier sends the iPhone to Apple's authorized reseller central service department (we don't have an Apple Store..). On the phone they told me they will replace it with a new one that doesn't have this issue. Soon I will know if they were honest.

Not sure if they know for sure your new one will not have this issue I think they are speaking as they will just get you a new one as they most likely aren't aware how common this is. TBH I don't think anyone can guarantee anything unless they are going to open them up one by one to verify.

So my week 43 build that I got last week somehow developed a dead pixel after a couple of days of use. I went on Sunday to return it and got a week 40 build that now has this mark on both sides of the screen. It seems its more prominent on the right hand side where all that I have seen were on the left...You can't win this year. I was content on keeping my week 43 model but I won't accept dead pixels on the screen. I guess its back to the Apple store again for the 5th time!! Such a waste of time

thanks for bumping this, I totally forgot about it. Not I see it like a snot hanging out of someones nose.

I hear you...as much as I would like to move past it I cannot overlook it. Especially being a lot of things I do on the phone have a white or lighter background and its very noticeable.

Despite seeing this thread, on Friday I changed my 6S for the 6S Plus. Upon first turning it on I was super happy to find an absolutely perfect cool blue screen, no yellow tint, no uneven display, totally uniform. And then, only then, I remember this thread and look to the lower left corner of screen, and lo and ****ing behold, i have that pressure point blemish. And, no matter how often I try to ignore it, my eyes instantly try to find it.

I don't know whether to try swapping it since everything else on the screen is perfect and it seems most of the 6S Pluses have this damn blemish.

Decisions, decisions...

I'd keep it is that's all. Getting a nice screen like you are describing is really hard to find.

I can confirm with the above poster that my replacement week 43 DOES NOT have this pressure point blemish. This is my 5th return for various reasons and will absolutely be my last. I said my fourth was the last and look where I am. Keep in mind these returns weren't just for this reason although all 5 had it to some degree but in any event my new device does not. What is funny is that my week 43 I just returned had it on both sides...go figure. Not sure if there was a change in production or just pot luck but here are two instances where a week 43 build does not have this mark to the left.

So... no dp, no backlight leak, fully black and perfect uniform black screen at 100 percent brightness in a 1 by 1 closet, fully uniform screen with with no yellow to blue or blue to yellow transition on a white screen set at 30 percent brightness in ambient light, no blue edges, no dark corners or shadows, no yellow tint but also not too blue but blue-ish?

Since I really don't want to read through 36 pages of responses, is there a pic out there that shows this issue? My Week 38 that I got on launch day doesn't have any problems (knock on wood!) as far as I know.

The express replacement I just got also has the pressure points on both side thats a bit more pronounced and a bit more curtain bleed than the one I already had so I'm going to send it back. I will just wait it out and see if qc gets alot better.

I think honestly your best bet is to try and get a week 43 or later when available. What week was your replacement? It would be nice if some other folks who have a week 43 build or later (when available) chime in here. Like I mentioned in my post though my first week 43 had it on both sides which I never saw until then. I thought it was only on the left sides of phones. I have to admit it is nice not to have a gray blob distracting your eye when scrolling through webpages. As much as I tried to overlook it I just could not. To each their own though on finding one your happy with and good luck if you return your replacement.

Week 41. I'm going to wait it out and try again in mid December. Got a genuis that said he would swap it.

Replacement stock at that point may be refurbished so be careful waiting too long. However, refurbished units aren't necessarily a bad thing as they generally get looked over pretty well.

Hmmm didn't think about that. I'll try later this month.

This year more than any I can remember seems to have no consistency with the quality coming out of the factory. It took me 5 units to finally get one without this issue. Looking back it was a huge waste of time and effort for something in a few months I wouldn't have really cared about especially as the rumors start to fly about the 7 and the "new phone" feeling will gradually wear off. Hopefully next year the screens are of a higher quality because I refuse to go through all this hassle again. Good luck to you whatever you decide and hopefully you don't keep exchanging for a device that has more pronounced issues than you currently have.

I agree with you.
I'm more or less lucky: I got a decent one on my first swap. It's not perfect, but it's nothing to lose my sleep over.
I'm surprised that Apple doesn't not address it as there are so many horrendous display units.
That's the worst shocase for the product!
