Will the 'pressure point' blemish on the 6S Plus be addressed in a hardware revision?

Against my better judgment, I read a thread on here today about defects and this came up. Apparently all 6S Pluses have this weird pressure point on the left side near the bottom, probably a component touching the LCD too hard underneath. Some have it worse than others, but all of them have it. I know on the one I have, it's a very distracting dark blotch when scrolling through any site with a white background (so all of them) or the Settings menu. I'm going to return it and wait a few months to see if the hardware will improve.

For example, the Air 2 and its distortion problems. Eventually many of the newer ones no longer have that issue, so they must've done something.

If there's no improvement I'm thinking about just getting the regular 6S, but I feel that would be more like settling.
Yeah, I have that. It's just not as noticeable as yours.

I know it's been a minute on this post, but I guess I am blind or perhaps not critical enough on this sort of thing cause I can't see what you guys are talking about. Which means mine might have it too but I just can't see it!

I'll just stay oblivious to this defect so that I can remain happy with this most excellent device.

Well I can't believe this is all still going on, and my genuine sympathies to all who are still in this thread.

I feel lucky to have found a phone that is nearly perfect, and I have kept it.

That said it's only nearly perfect and the display is not as good as my old 6+. There is an ever so slight effect of the display not being flat under the glass, a subtle curtain effect. It just doesn't have the same painted on look that the 6+ delivered.

As well compared to the fantastic displays I have seen on the Mini 4 and iPad Pro it seems difficult to understand what is going on with the quality of the 6S +.

Yeah really what gives? I'm doing a note 5 test drive and the display is nice. I can't wait for Apple to go with oled.

Can't stand burn-in, and being a 'heavy user' I get it every time. If iPhones switched to OLED I would hunt down a smartphone with an LCD display, the current Motorola range topper for instance.

My newest 6s+ with the TSMC doesn't really have the pressure point at all. I almost think I see it but I think it's because I expect it to be there. My last phone also had a dark edge along the top (slight but noticeable) and a slightly light left edge. This new phone has none of that. I'm pretty thrilled with this one actually.

I've had Samsungs forever and although the display is nice indoors, it goes black in direct sunlight. I hate that. Also they're battery hogs.
I prefer the iPhone displays. By far.

I was just about to go and get a new 6s+ but after reading all the comments on the display i don't really know what to do !
Is the problem steel there ? Is it happening to all the product number ? I mean i will have an LL/A American part number is there any chance this fine works just fine ?

There used to be some yellowish edges problems with old 4S and 5 but have never seen them with American part numbers.

I already have an Ipad and Macbook pro with great displays Or great for me don't know if the iphone i'm going to pick up will be the same !

Do you think i should prefer Note5 over 6s plus ?

Don't worry about it. I've had a total of 5 6s+'s in my hands.

Only two were noticeable, and that's if you really looked for it. Neither were worth a return. Also, if I hadn't read this thread first, I very well may not have noticed it at all.

Get the phone you want. If YOU see something that YOU don't like, exchange it. Chances are you'll be just fine.

I've seen several 6 Plus models with something similar, but at the top right hand corner. And it wasn't one large one like this, but several smaller ones lined up. I always thought it was just LEDs.

Make up your own mind. No one hear can since its your choice not theirs, and we all have different degree of concerns.

The note 5 is just as good as my 6s plus in the sun but yeah its not as good with battery drain. Marshmallow is supposed to fix that.

Mine is slight and it flickers a bit when pressing on the screen. All the other ones I had did too.

Sure i do. By that i meant does Note5 beat the iphone in terms of display ?
Anyway i think most people ( not all ) are too sensitive about the display. If you can not see it with bare eyes you shouldn't seek it !

For me the screen preference is based in colors and saturation. I don't particularly like the over-saturated thing. I think it's gone too far. The iPhone screen is so bright and vibrant while still looking naturally. Samsung screens as nice as they are tend to strain my eyes.

The note 5 has a setting for natural colors that makes it look a lot like the iPhone.

visiting nexus 6p forums to see if switching to these amoled screens will really rid us of the screen lottery brought me alot of familiar topics like this: https://m.reddit.com/r/Nexus6P/comments/3u55c8/display_banding_example_old_rma/

Pink tints, uniformity issues, shadows, etc etc.

Exactly! I have said it before. I had 3 Galaxy S4s all side by side...I wish I could find the photo. Every one of them had a different tint, and on top of that, some of them changed colour more radically when looking "off angle". I don't understand why they would have different off angle viewing characteristics considering all the screens are in theory "identical" all made by Samsung. My S5 has a yellowish tint on half of the screen. My Note 4 had uneven shading in very dark shades (Tapatalk used to have a dark brown background that highlighted this problem well). The S3 I had prior also had these weird ink splodges that you could see on dark greys in a blacked out room. The S4 had a banding effect that could be seen on some smooth colour shades.

These are the facts. Colour temperature varies from unit to unit whether LCD or AMOLED. The tint can be different in one part of the screen than another with both LCD and AMOLED. The effect of "off angle" viewing can vary, particularly in the tint that is introduced by this from unit to unit for both LCD and AMOLED. It is possible to have uneven illumination whether dark or light colours with both LCD and AMOLED.

So what's the gain of AMOLED again? The main one is incredible colour gamut and saturation levels if you like that.

I have it too. I've exchanged 4 phones with the same issue. Also they screen has like a shadow on the margins...

its time to give up as long as you can kinda deal and ride it out until the 7.

not worth the effort imo

Also just consider it a free ticket to a replacement if you want a new one right before selling and trading up, etc.

Genius bar appointments, give me chest pain.

My last one is week 40 and the display is a little better that the other ones but has that visible pressure point and annoying shadows on the margins. The guys at my carrier Service Centre recommended me to replace it as much as i can. Lol..

Apple does not replace the phone with a new model. They always use refurbished models after that x days replacement window is closed.

New in wrap phone, new or refurb, is normally more appreciated resell wise than one thats quite worn.

I think even sunking gave up the swap game/panel lottery out of frustration, too?

It is indeed very frustrating. I wonder whether other high-end phones have such problems. I've been experiencing all sorts of issues with my iPhones since the 5...

Put serial number here it will tell you factory and production week

Same here. Every iPhone one I had up until the 6 plus has had no screen issues that I could see. The 6 plus had only a very minor curtian effect that I wasn't concerned about.
