For someone who does music production you don’t seem particularly up to par with what Apple’a latest audio products tend to measure like in the bass department.

I really don’t think you know what you’re talking about. I’ve been doing music production, mixing, sound design etc for 25yrs. I think I know what I’m talking about. Studio headphones should be as close to flat as possible. These won’t be anywhere near flat. They will be hyped in the low end, scooped in the high mid and either boosted or cut in the high.

Well if what you want is “flat” (what does “flat exactly mean for headphones ? Can you have flat with a pair of headphones without taking into account your own HRTF ?) you definitely don’t want most Beyers as their typical 8000hz spike doesn’t corresponds to most people’s HRTFs for example and most of them have perfectible FR curves overall.
You probably don’t really want to rely too much on headphones anyway.

Your credentials are pointless if you can’t back up your claims with FR curve measurements (which you obviously can’t for these and which contradict your own claims as far as Apple’s most recent HPs are concerned).

I dont think its Studio's. Apple would have announced them as coming soon at the last event for the M1 MacBooks. Studio's is a major new product for Apple so they will want to do a fanfare. I think its the AirTags. Apple have announced them as coming, they are a small user device that won't cost hundred's and iOS14.3 is due any day now that has coding to support AirTags.

Will be interesting to see how those stack against the Sony XM1000M4.
I have the XM1000M3 and am quite content with it - but the bluetooth
pairing and device switching is a pain.
Far cry from what Apple can offer with the W1,W2 chips ...

You must be forgetting the original AirPods we’re released right before Christmas in 2016. And they were the hottest gift instantly
They were released right before Christmas, but they had already been introduced in detail in a keynote presentation and were already widely anticipated. If Apple are developing new headphones, they haven't even been introduced yet. I suspect most people don't know to be watching for them to appear.

I didn't say that and regardless, it's not the same.

It's more like we saw mockups of iPhone's three cameras system and everyone went "EWW". Now we have a three camera system and everyone is fine.
I still think the cameras are unnecessarily hideous.
Fortunately I don’t look at that side much.

Cannot see this being a net new product, seems almost certain it'll be upgrades to either the 16" MBP or an updated Apple TV box with a new CPU. On the latter if it does happen it'll be an A14 not an M1 chip otherwise they'd have launched it a couple of weeks back with the Air etc.

I’m predicting wheels for all 3 of the new M1 machines. Apple is now truly bringing Pro functionality to everyone (and rumors suggest they’ll be at a somewhat lower price point than the Mac Pro’s, which is great news)

maybe i'd buy some AirPods Studio but only for design (if it'd appeal to me). i have beyerdynamics and that is my "daily driver". so, maybe... AirPods Studio for a walk but outside a city whereas I can enjoy "more deep" (whatever it means) sound than i have on my AirPods "Pro". anyway, i'd have to really look for a justification to buy those "studio". on the other hand; apple tv would be nice add-on. would like to see some intel refreshment. not that i need it but that'd silence those people sayin that 'intel is obsolete' as its kinda tiring

OK so maybe it is Studio's. Apologies if this has already been published.

He isn’t a leaker tho, there is no track record on leaks so I wouldn’t get my hopes up too much. However Mark Gurman did tweet this morning about AirPods Studio, there could be a chance.

Ive been waiting for the Studios for a while, so part of me would love for them to be announced/released today. However the realistic side of me doesn’t see it happening, would they really announce a whole new product like this outside of an event and this close to Christmas 🤔

If you don’t know what “flat” means then I can’t help you. Beyers are very pesky in the high mids. Hence why I don’t use them. The most accurate I’ve had are the Audio Technica. I produce and mix other peoples music 6 days a week (so busy) and I can tell blindfolded which headphones are closest to flat and can assure anybody that AirPods, AirPods Pro, any of the beats are far from flat and far from deserving of the “Studio” tag or “Pro” that they come with. Don’t believe me? That’s fine. No skin off my nose.

Am I missing something? “Good for winter.” Are they releasing an Apple Space Heater Pro Max?

"Sorry Mr Cook, we just can't solve the overheating issues with AirPower. Shall we destroy all of the prototypes?"

"No, hang on to them. I have an idea..."

So again, appeal to authority and no measurements.
You probably haven't heard "any of the beats" blindfolded anyway, there are just too many of them for anyone to bother doing that, so how do you know ?

that mockup is just so bad.

I'm sorry to the artist for saying these harsh words. I'm sure you were given the details and had to come up with the look as best as you could, but it's just a typical 90's headphone look and I'd be very surprised if Apple released something that looked like this.

Well, if you can do such a better job at designing speculative mockups of future Apple products, perhaps you should offer your services to MacRumors, farewelwiliams?

Heck, perhaps you should be offering your services to Apple!

The thing is audio is subjective anyway, for example I like the sound of the AirPods Pro. Some people say they don’t sound good at all.

If the AirPods Studio sound better than the Pro’s, for me that would be even better. If the noise cancellation is as good or better than the Pro’s, it’s a win for me. I’ve been waiting for these for a while, I hope we get to see them today, but realistically I’m not expecting it. For one how would Apple market them with just a press release.

Incorrect again. I’ve listened to many headphones. Various Beats, Audio Technica, Beyers, Bose, Sony, Sennheiser. I do music. It’s interesting to listen to lots of different studio monitors and headphones. The hype over Adam monitors for instance is laughable considering their curve. I’ll stick to my Audio Technica headphones (using sonarworks correction) and Dyn Audio monitors.

That's a bit stupid to say. I can't dislike something unless I can do it better? So if you didn't like butterfly switch keys, you should go make a laptop yourself! Dumb logic.
