I would like to be able to completely "close and hibernate" apps that I don't use on a regular basis so they can not be opened accidentally or left open in the background for an extended period of time. Like the curbside pick-up apps that I use once or twice a month.
iOS apps get "hibernated" (or tombstoned) after a few conditions are met. If you have an app that's "open" from a month ago, it's very unlikely to be utilising any system resources at all. You can also offloads apps right now, so that it's "uninstalled", but available again after a single tap and download.

The only apps I ever force close are ones where location might be getting used in the background (like Apple or Google Maps). Otherwise I don't close apps at all, and by battery life is perfect. Force closing apps all the time will probably "cost" you more in batter because it's having to fully restart and reinitialise the app instead of just loading a memory snapshot from disk (which is when an app is tombstoned).

Some things I would like to see:

1. More shading cues to use to help differentiate actionable items from static text. In other words: less flatness
2. Overhaul of settings. Too many things in there, too hard to discover them all, a dumping ground basically
3. More enhancements to Files: it needs more work
4. Volume limiting and not just for headphones
5. Screen sharing on iOS devices via messages just like how you can on a Mac for those of us unfortunate people who have to constantly help relatives
6. More stability, more ease of use, fewer new features overall.

I want to see the Music app understand that my metal station shouldn’t have any country songs pop up.

I want to see the ability to tell the Music app never, ever to play a song unless I specifically ask for it.

I'd like to see login profiles for iOS and iPad OS. My team uses shared iPhones & iPads that they pass off from shift to shift, and or iPads that are mounted for multiple employee use. Without user profiles, they are forced to trust other employees to not use their email account nefariously and/or accidentally stay logged in to a website on Safari, etc... They are on the go that they don't have time to individually log out of all the tools they use. If profiles works on Mac OS, this can be done on mobile OS.

Desktop experience. I have seen a couple androids that have it. You plug your phone into a large monitor and it adjusts to give you a bigger experience.

Also mouse support without the assistive touch button.

Improve the hearing accessibility. I want Apple to add a real-time captioning feature like Google had this awesome feature called Live Caption for Android phone and Chrome browser since 2019. Also, improve the text to voice for deaf users to communicate with hearing people. I did give feedback to Apple's accessibility team a few years ago, and they acknowledge this. I hope to see those features added in iOS 16.

You can already set up a shared photos folder for family sharing.
It would not be a good idea to share all your photos by default, as it could be the end of many a marriage.

One of the things that bugs me with macOS is windows management, though Apple did improve this slightly it is still meh frankly. I also use Windows 11 which I think has great windows management features and think Apple should look at this for multi monitor support and quick windows placement function.

It would also be nice to see iOS-style app groupings come to macOS, bring some tidying to the app area which frankly gets like a dogs breakfast with new installs.

What about app folders within the task bar? Say for Adobe Creative Suite your apps could be grouped into one folder rather than taking multiple, then open up for selection.

Obviously not a native solution, but the Magnet app (available on the App Store) makes window management brilliant on macOS. Highly recommend it, and it's got 4.9/5 based on nearly 20k ratings.

I'd like to see Apple treat us like adults, & let us install iOS apps from outside the App Store !

And preferably, using the exact same Apple Notary Service that Apple offers for macOS apps !

The main problem I have with Tim Cook is that his Apple thinks we've purchased a "managed" iOS devices !

When in fact, we own what we've paid for !

Not by default, but many of us want a way to turn on full photo sharing of all photos and not with the low res photos of albums and that have to be manually populated.

Also Moom and BetterSnapTool

I wanna be able to get any iOS or macOS device, and just by being close to another device, with one swipe sending a file over. Have been waiting for ages. And it would be about frigging time.

Exactly. It should be disabled by default but many would welcome it. Google implemented this feature many years ago, under the name "partner sharing" where sharing is limited to just 1 other person.
