A complete revamp of iOS.

Most importantly I want it to be as smooth and solid as iOS 6 and before. The amount of choppy animations, sloppiness and overall stutter are really noticeable on the 13 Pro. I’ve noticed these kind of issues since iOS 7 but ProMotion seems to highlight them more. It isn’t going to get better unless they rebuild everything.

Also, to be rid of the amateur hour glitches that really shouldn’t be there coming up 16 versions in.

Can’t think of any new features I would want at this point but the lingering iOS 7 UI issues still persist.
For example; when tapping on ‘more’ in the App Store updates section under an app. That small text is annoying when attempting to tap on it to expand the update description, it instead taps into the app page on the store almost every time. Those abysmal touch targets that are simply just text seriously need to go.

- Pipe dream but somehow fix "real notifications" vs "unwanted notification", specifically for apps where you have to have notifications on for them to function (uber/lyft) and then they send you random, unwanted notifications.

Omg yes it’s like the second coming of spam email

BTW Have you looked at Halide? It might give you the control you want (though not over Deep Fusion)
Yeah. I've looked at Halide and a few others like ProCamera and will probably go that way if I end up getting a 13pro/max. I actually kinda like Halide. My 8+ is starting to show it's age but holding out for now.

It just galls me that Apple is charging such high prices and you still have to get a 3rd party app to get the control you want. I'll wait unit .4 or .5 comes out. It helps if I look at as you buy a car then buy aftermarket parts for it to make it yours. Hopefully Apple will make some sort of fixes/enhancements, but I'm not holding my breath.

A better on-screen keyboard. Blackberry 10 had a better on-screen keyboard. Better word replacement and prediction.

In picture editing, more control to straighten a picture. Better straightening tools. E.g. take picture from book or magazine and picture is wavy.

An easy way to connect pictures. E.g in Photos, touch&drag picture onto other picture to combine vertically or horizontally.

When I swipe-up on a picture in Photos, have all information there with the ability to rename the file and add notes and sound recording. Add weather conditions for the picture.

Use LIDAR in photos to make 3D pictures. Use LIDAR to make 3D scans of objects and spaces.

Ability to turn-on light at will during picture-taking. Currently I can do this in Magnifier app, why not in Camera app...Ability to change colour of light

On lock screen my current speed and speed limit for the road I am driving on.

Weather app could have sound effects. E.g. thunder, wind

Phone call recording and transcribing

Translate app needs to be much better. If I hold-up the iPhone to a video or song playing in another language it should translate it in real-time

2 or more instances of the same app. Ex. I want to open 2 files from my Dropbox simultaneously.

Apple should make a Watch as fully standalone device with NO dependency (NO need to iPhone or similar):

Time For The Apple Watch to Separate From The iPhone

It’s Time for the Apple Watch to Break Free From the iPhone

Do not forget a camera to take pictures, work as scanner (including Apple Live Text), read QR codes, etc. Then, I am sold. An extra bonus would be to connect it to the Mac.

- Autocorrect torn down and turned into something useful.
- Better "swype" keyboard. I swear Swype on my HTC Evo 4G worked better.
- Better iMessage search
- Enforcement of PiP video rules (hover even if you leave the app)
- True multitasking
- Pipe dream but somehow fix "real notifications" vs "unwanted notification", specifically for apps where you have to have notifications on for them to function (uber/lyft) and then they send you random, unwanted notifications.
I had to do this the other day after getting woken up too many times by Uber

How to stop receiving Uber promotion notifications
  1. Open the Uber app.
  2. Click the menu button in the upper left corner.
  3. Access the settings.
  4. Open the area Privacy, and then Notifications.
  5. In the area Discounts and news, select the option Off.

I want the “iTunes Store” app to be no more and have all its functions moved to the Music and TV apps on all platforms.

Simple request, but I want to be able to add Focus modes to calendar events.

On Mac, I’d like an full screen mode that emulates the Apple TV, similar to Steam Big Picture. Apple Silicon Macs could run Apple TV apps optimized for the hardware, and Mac apps could have the TV mode bundled. This would especially be great for Apple Arcade games with a controller, and the iPhone remote would work as well.

I’d like a cloud notifications feed where notifications can be delivered simultaneously to all devices, regardless of whether an app is installed or not, and clearing across all platforms.

I’d love stock and crypto trading in Wallet and Stocks.

I want more apps on the Mac, namely Health and Fitness.

I’d like the Home app on Mac to allow for desktop Macs to serve as home hubs and I’d also like Intercom to work on the Mac as well. I’d also love for Macs to have wallpapers and screensavers that could be automated in the Home app to fit with light color themes and more.

On Mac, I’d love App Library and Widgets to arrive.

Also on Mac, I’d finally love TV app integration for App Store apps to arrive. I’d love to be able to use the TV app to open the Prime Video and HBO Max apps.

Finally, and this would be a huge shift that I wouldn’t count on: but I want Apple to revamp the Arcade experience. I’d like all App Store games to move to a new “Arcade” app, and the subscription to become “Arcade+“. I’d also like Apple to host third party game channels in the app, similar to the Apple TV app, including things like GameClub (which already hosts several apps on the App Store), Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Stadia, and others without third-party launcher apps. This could be Apple’s way of allowing third-party streaming on their platforms while also controlling the experience.

EDIT: Also, iMessage apps for Apple Silicon Macs!

Live widgets that update as often as we set.

Edit: And an ability to tack certain apps in place. Tired of figuring out where they were placed after an accidental pocket jiggle.

Nothing. No, really - nothing. No more experiments, no more new bug. Just give us a break and use one or two years just to fix the existing bugs.

Introduce a TikTok schedule for the software.
- 16

- 17
- 17 Improved (no new features just fixes, refactoring, speed, battery life)

Updates to the mail client and more control on “Focus” including being able to set Apple Watch customisation based on what my focus is.

On the topic of Apple Watch, I don’t need custom watch faces but I would like Apple to revisits all existing Watch faces and add capabilities that were introduced over time to older ones. Right now there’s so much discrepancy as to what sort of complications can go on which faces and in many cases it feels like Apple introduced new complication types but didn’t update older faces to support them. For example the newish Infograph face supports text in the watches notches as well as graphical complications in the corners. I like the Activity Analog Watch which has a similar profile to the watches notches but this one doesn’t support me putting text in the notches and the corner complications are limited to the basic monotone from when the original Watch OS debited even though there’s plenty of room for the more vibrant and info witch complications the Infograph face supports.

This applies quite broadly across the Watch faces…many seem to not support configuration offered in other faces despite there being room and reason to do so.

Also can they add a digital clock complication that doesn’t need to show text like the world clock, which is the closest we get.

I want iOS 16 to really lock the thing down in terms of privacy and security, instead of just saying that its a priority louder than other companies but then leave all sorts of holes unpatched plus adding some more in the name of social good.
No, ain’t gonna happen in the slightest. Bare minimum and be done with it. Brainwashing people is cheaper anyways.

1. Major design change. This doesn't mean remove functionality. I just want something different to look at.
Allowing themeing will enable this, just for you. Otherwise feature will certainly be removed, it’s only a matter of what.

Just off the top of my head:

Alphabetical system preferences

Always-on display for the Lock Screen, ideally with variable dimness/wallpaper

App aliases (not sure what else to call them) so I can have the same app on multiple home screens and this in multiple focus modes

App Library customizations of at least the folder ordering

Autocorrect to stop suggesting I want to type both words after I’ve highlighted and replaced one

Browse tab of Music to offer suggestions based on music I listen to

I would like to see the following:

1. redesign the notification center. It's ridiculous. At the very least add "Clear All" button immediately, even if there's only one notification.

2. after Face-ID recognizes you, go directly into the phone home screen. You shouldn't have to swipe up after the phone recognizes you.

3. give us an LED visual for notifications in addition to sound and vibration. Allow us to change the colors of the LED light based on what the notification app is.
The fine folks who like things the way they are can just leave things as is.

4. give us an always-on screen for the clock. On the always-on screen we should also be able to choose if we want to see if we have any notifications (the amount and the app) or if we to just want to see the clock.
Once again, the people who don't like it should be able to turn it off. No more Apple forcing us to do stuff.

5. add haptic feedback to the keyboard and make it possible to customize different intensities to your heart's content.
It's beyond crazy that you have no feedback whatsoever if you're typing and the phone is on mute. Those who are concerned with battery or simply don't like this should be able to turn it off.

6. make it possible to adjust volume for independent apps and settings and not this general thing they're doing. Why can't I leave the volume on the phone on but mute the sound of the text messages coming in and out sounds (let alone to change those annoying sounds). Separate volume control for keyboard volume, music volume, ring volume, system volume.
I, for example, would like the keyboard clicks to be much louder than they are but without it affecting the volume on the entire phone or the ring and notifications volume. It's silly of Apple to force it to be like this.

7. add suggestions from the address book as you start a phone number.
Common now Apple, this has been available for the last 15 years on Android.

8. make it possible to customize the texting app in every conceivable way. Font size, bubble size shape color etc.

9. make it possible to schedule a text message to be sent at a certain time/date. This is a basic feature. Compose your message now and schedule it to be sent when the time is right. I used to use this feature all the time when I had to text people who are in different time zones when they have to get the text at a certain time in their time zone but it's way too late for me to stay up to send the text.

10. use an OS-wide clipboard and make cut and/or copy not expire until you, the user, cleans it.
You should be able to copy text now and paste it tomorrow if you want to.
And 9b make it possible to copy multiple copy entries ready to paste any one of them by long pressing, at least the last 10 cut/copies should be possible.

11. in Mail give us the option to NOT go to the next email when you are deleting an email but to go back to the inbox. Those who want to keep things the way they are should be able to turn this feature off.

12. make it possible to move the icons on the desktop anywhere you want to.

stability. a siri that works. weather that doesn't ask me what city im in where it never did before cause it just knew. (location services). my apple watch once again telling me what my remaining battery charge is instead of (just recently) "i'm not able to do that on apple watch." you know, the little things.
