Yes, in some cases they could be misreadings from the watch, but in examples like that because of the magnitude of the sharp rise you obviously entered REM sleep and yes something got your heart going.

I actually didn't realize that until after I created the app, yes at the moment it is unable to track motion, yet the heart shows some interesting data as well. I thought the spikes was the watch sputtering out until I did some research and learned what happens during REM sleep. I am thinking about adding the option for something like a mini dream journal to keep track of any dreams you may remember.

Sleep Pulse

Use your Apple Watch like the fitness tracker it is track when you fall asleep, durations each night, as well as weekly and all time averages, and more. Nightmares or Dreams, you may be able to track those as well. Enjoy your sleep while Sleep Pulse + Apple Watch do the work.

i will wait for ios9/watchOS2 to be covered

The update with that fix was suppose to go live today, however because I mentioned "iOS 9" in the update description Apple rejected the update..... because I am referencing "pre-release" software. So... unfortunately it seems like the update is back at the end of the review queue.. go figure Apple

The only thing I dont like is how if the watch screen times out before I can get the app on my phone open, I loose all data since the app turns off, Happened this morning :( Was trying to get the app open on my phone and before I could click SAVE on the watch the screen shut off so of course the app shuts down, maybe at some point ad a feature that saves the sleep data until you get to save and sync?

Same here.

Lost two epic sleep nights because of that.

Yes, I agree, that's what will be in the 1.02 update, not just because of the watch timing out, but to amend lost syncs for those where the connection between their iPhone and Watch is not working. As soon as they approve the 1.01 update....I can submit the 1.02 one.

Awesome, Thank you so much!! I hate that I lost the data. I wish Apple would wise up and allow us to adjust the time out for the screen as well.

Sweet, Im gonna try it again tonight to see when my Dream World starts again :)
While we are on the subject of dreaming I know they're a few devices out there that are meant to nudge you when you are dreaming so that you can alter your dreams and live them more vividly. Without waking you up (Google "control dream devices") Could your app gain such capabilities in the future? Would it be possible with haptic feedback maybe?

Other existing sleep tracking apps will catch up soon and such a feature would really set you apart from the competition.

Sorry for posting here I don't mean to hijack your thread I just didn't know where else to post..

I have not fully dove into watchOS 2 yet, so I could be wrong. But it seems watchOS 2 apps though native will not run in the background (except for specific use cases all that would be less sleep durations) , once the screen goes off the app suspends. At this moment, it seems firing taptic vibrations in the background is not possible, in a practical manner. watchOS 2 beta is still rather fresh, so things could change, and I could of missed something as well in the documentation. I will update this thread if I find anything new.

So FYI, they rejected my update because I mentioned "Pre-Release Software" in the metadata's description..... Luckily they didn't require me to submit a new binary, hopefully they can review it again quickly and not have me wait another 6 days....

Dropbox was recently updated with this in their "What's New?": "Fixes most common crashes for users running the iOS 9 Beta". Maybe try something along those lines.

I was planning on re-adding a line like that once it was "Approved" for sale. However, when in review the reviewers seem to be very finicky.

Sleep Pulse 1.01 has landed!
For users with iOS 9 Beta*, sync troubles, or just looking for more features 1.01 is now available. The sync process has been changed, with there now two new ways to sync — one allowing you to sync on your own time. Also the new trend view which shows your last 7 nights of data (I am looking to also add the past 30 nights in the future). More is come, I am always trying to improve the experience. 'Exercise Pulse' launched this week as well, and incorporates your resting heart rate from Sleep Pulse — so you can track your fitness changes with that metric as well. Our heart tells us a lot about our health, I hope these apps can help with tracking and understanding that data.

*iOS 9 beta 5 users, the update should work with iOS 9 and watchOS 1.01 (watchOS 2 is unreliable), however with beta 5 a lot of the text has gone missing, I am unsure at the moment if this is a bug in iOS 9 or something I need to update within my code.

Can you describe a little more what happens with watchOS 2?

I have not done extensive testing with watchOS 2, however in short spurts of my testing simply it doesn't sync with Health in the background as watchOS 1.01. As an example, usually if you manually add heart rates with the Glance, with watchOS 1.01 within seconds or minutes Health populates with the recent data. However, and if you see different please let me know, testing with iOS 9 Beta 5 and watchOS 2 beta 5 they never seem to sync, I assume and think it is a bug... Though over many hours of sleeping maybe it would sync over, again the syncing of the heart rates is 100% under Apple's control why they are not instant in the current builds I assume it is a bug.

FYI... Installed it on IOS 9 beta 5 and when I click the more tab, I see the small titles but not the rest of the wording.

Yes I note this in the update notes. This is new to beta 5, same happens on the heart view. The "tables" don't show the text for some reason. Not sure if this is an iOS 9 beta 5 bug or change to iOS 9
