Do I need to open the app on my phone every day for my data to sync over? I've been using this app every night for a couple weeks now, but as of this morning there are only three days registered in my app data. :/
I was wondering the same as two nights ago I ran the sleep tracker and when I woke up yesterday I ended the sleep and it gave me my sleep info but nothing on the phone. Ran it last night and stopped it again this morning and got the sleep info and then later, I see on my iPhone locked screen that a new sleep log was ready for me to view. :)

So one night it didn't record and the next it was there... I still love the app and last night it was right on track for my sleep after a few nights of saying I was awake 3+ hours and I wasn't.

I trust the developer to figure it out and report back here.

Hello Sleep Pulse Users,

Very sorry for me being MIA, I never get sick and was pretty much put out of commission. But I am back and trying to finish up the next update which I want to address some of the main issues I am hearing and seeing:

1. App Crashes, Freezes or Simply Takes Eons to Load - For this is affecting I understand the frustration and I have been looking into this since SP2 launched. It comes too a problem with the Motion permission being seen from the Apple Watch. I looked at numerous other Apple Watch app on the app store reading many reviews that complain of permissions not setting and this is the same problem that is occurring in Sleep Pulse 2. Last week I submitted a bug report to Apple thinking this is a watchOS 2 bug and today they finally replied back noting "The bug report is a duplicate of a similar issue" meaning someone else has reported it already and Apple must be looking into it. As of now for those that have emailed me asking for help the steps with the highest success rate in getting past the weird crashing and long loading screen to start sleep has been:

1. Delete Sleep Pulse 2 from your iPhone 2. Go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Then here tap “reset location & privacy”. 3. Go back to the App Store and download a fresh copy of Sleep Pulse 4. Launch Sleep Pulse 2 on your iPhone and Accept all the permissionsThank 5. Once the app install on your watch try to launch it — if it still fails to launch hold down the digital crown and side button on your Apple Watch until the Apple Logo appears 6. Launch Sleep Pulse on your Watch

However, this only works for those who purchased the app new (unless you are willing to lose any data prior to Sleep Pulse 2). The moment I hear or find out something from Apple about a fix I will let everyone know.

2. Inaccurate Results - I understand this is an issue for a larger number of users and comes down to the algorithm not being adaptable. I will be putting in the next update three “thresholds” of sensitivity so users can more finitely personalize the data analysis, which may help by providing a better readout of your sleep. Though I am working on a way to have more of an "adaptable" algorithm — though unlike Jawbone or Fitbit who spent millions of dollars of sleep patterns I just have a little more on my plate .

I look forward to your next update on the app. I've bought it and don't regret buying it but thus far, my results are not close to the results shown on my Fitbit Flex or iPhone using Sleep Cycle on the bed. The two of them are close, this app on the watch shows me being awake much more than the other two.

had monitor the apps for a few days but discover that this apps really S**K.......it's not accurate at all. Decided to post last night info.

Do any of these apps support a sort of Smart Alarm, that'll wake me up at an optimal time before the time I set on my alarm?

I'll let you know I submitted the update yesterday — which will provide for better analysis — more details to follow...

(and it fixes a bunch of bugs — less glitchy)

Used the app last night after a few nights without the app, and the results seem 80% okay.
But it says i've been awake for 1 hour, which isn't true....

Hope the update will solve this!

I submitted the 2.01 update to Sleep Pulse last week and it is currently "In Review" with App Store Review the following are the update notes:

What's New

• Adjust Sensitivity, now from the watch app select from 3 different sensitivities to better fit your sleep analysis. Values range from 1 — being a deep sleeper with limited movements (the default value, if the app has worked thus far with tracking leave selected) to 3 being a light sleeper having more movements while sleeping. All new sleep data will be analyzed with your selected sensitivity. Visit sleeppulse2.com for set-up.
• Fell Asleep Fix, Fixed a bug where "fell asleep" sometimes showed as 0m
• Health Sync Tweak, Now when syncing your sleep durations to health "asleep" times are saved in the blocks they occur in
• Step Fix - Steps will now auto-update if they were "0" when the sync between Watch and iPhone occurred
• UI Tweaks, Smoother transitions and an overall less glitchy appearance
• Exercise Pulse Compatibility, Sleep Pulse 2 will again sync your resting heart rate with Exercise Pulse

Development is on going wth Sleep Pulse and I am tweaking the sleep algorithms with every update. Though it should analyze a lot better in this update. I hope these new sensitivity threshold will better the analysis — unlike a sleep app on your iPhone that just detects movements in the mattress — Sleep Pulse 2 uses your wrist and Apple Watch which has extremely precise motion readouts and detects every movement your body makes. As well unlike Jawbone and Fitbit who put millions of dollars into sleep research creating a base of neural networks to support their results Sleep Pulse 2 at least for now will use these new sensitivity thresholds to personalize the results.

Some other things to look for in future updates 2.02 and greater:
• Charts and Graphs to visualize every bit of data
• Resting Heart Rate trend to track your overall Health (your RHR can be one of the best indicators to track your overall Health)
• Mood / Emotion Tracking, get a better picture of how your sleep and mood affect each other
• Workout stamps — see whether workouts the day before make for better sleep

Well I bought this app after reading some of the thread but not impressed so far. I'm on 9.1 and watch 2.01. But for example it shows I was awake for 1:45m last night in one solid block, I wasn't. I did get up but it was for less than 5mins.

MrMister111 — Yes this is an issue for some users, the recent update which is now in review will allow you to adjust the sensitivity that the app calculates your sleep app. Hopefully it is released soon and helps provide better sleep results.

i pay for this apps and the results is worse than the china brand called" xiaomi band".....the china brand is much more accurate than this apps. anyway, have attached last night results.

Yes seeing the results, the app sensitivity needs to be adjusted for you, the next update which is currently in Apple Review will provide a better readout.

Ok thanks I'll update as soon as released, but even with the sensitivity update, how could I have been awake for the 1:45? It seems like it got "stuck" on me being awake? I won't have moved for all l that time so why does it report in one's block that I was awake?

Because the app uses motion to detect an "awake" state the watch must of had a heightened peak of movement during that time — though it may of been slight — this is where the sensitivity analysis would adjust it for you sleeping type.

Some people are deep sleepers while some are light sleepers.

I understand that, but then why didn't it show back to sleep after the spike? Surely it should check after the initial spike/awake event after say 5/10/15 mins to see if back asleep?

perhaps you could look at the movement chart (or even post it) during that 1hr45min "awake" period. You may have been experiencing an abnormal amount of movement during that entire period and didn't realize it.

Since we pretty much all have iPhones, you could use the watch app and also use Sleep Cycle on your iPhone placed on your bed, then compare them. People like myself who also have a Fitbit have done this. This app is not accurate, yet. I have high hopes that it will become more accurate with each release. It is a great concept and will be a great app. We got in on the ground floor of it.

When are you supposed to charge your watch if not overnight?
Usually I charge for ~30 minutes before bed and ~20 minutes in the morning. That's been pretty good for me. A couple of times it's gotten pretty low (20's/30's) and I just charge it for about an hour before bed and that usually bumped it up to 90's if not 100. Fast charging and good battery life has made this more achievable than I imagined.

Usually only drops ~10% while sleeping.

I will add to this — there was some large spike between 2:14am and 3:50 am. The watch detected a sudden surge in movement — where that came from is interesting.

The update is still "in review" from Apple....

Also if you turn on "do not disturb" on your Apple Watch it won't use as much power. And if you turn on Airplane mode on the watch when you are sleeping, it will use most of the time less than 10%. Just make sure you turn off airplane mode to sync over the sleep data each morning.
