With every update I am working on improving the sleep algorithm — tonight maybe try wearing on your other hand I'd be curious to know if you et different results. Also is anyone else in the bed, I am also curious if another person's movements may affect what the watch reads (the watch is extremely precise).

Thanks, last night's "awake time" seemed more accurate. This is wearing it on my left hand, which is the hand I normally wear it in, even though I am actually left-handed. Also, yes my wife is in the bed along with a pup sometimes. Here were last night's results.

Not sure, maybe some crazy dreams or something.

Or an issue with the HRM since WatchOS 2. it seems the HRM gives pretty consistent false readings since the OS update .. mainly while resting. I never saw spikes prior to the update, or for the entire year I wore the Basis Peak to track my sleep and resting HR. I know on my watch, I can hit the Heart from the glance, and it will give a false high reading for a few seconds, then correct itself. I am guessing those false high readings are being recorded in the Health app.

Interesting, for anyone else reading this, sending screenshots like those above to support@2032apps.com with your sleep conditions (temperpediac mattress, partner in bed, sleeping on a train, etc) all help me improve the app because of course everyones sleep is different.

tonight try with the dominant hand, I have noticed in testing that for some users they dominant hand actually gets better results because that side of your body tends to not "fall asleep" as fast as your non-dominant side.
Sounds good. I'll give it a try tonight and post the results again tomorrow.

I just wanted to say I bought the first version of this app but didn't use it because it was just easier to leave my Misfit Flash clipped on my pajamas and use that for sleep tracking. I tried it again last night and will probably be ditching the Flash. This is great!

If you're wearing while you sleep when are you charging it

I drop mine on the charger while I'm getting dressed and ready for work in the morning, and again when I'm showering in the evening.

It seems the app is a little to sensitive in my opinion as compared to my Fitbit and also my Sleep+ by Resmed. It seems to have me awake more than I actually am.

One other note. I think it would be great if the application would send actual sleep time to the Health app instead of time in bed minus the time you fall asleep. In other words if i actually sleep 6 hours but I was in bed 8 send the 6 hours to the health app.

Love your program so far and i hope you make some good money off of it.

For all those that have left comments here or reached out to me by email I will try to respond to them as soon as possible. By some unfortunate twist of events I got the Flu over the weekend (yes i know some luck the weekend your new app update launches).

I am taking all the feedback into account I will be getting an update out soon that works on the sleep algorithm and other minor fixes in the current version.

I believe I am halfway through this Flu bug, and responding to email and updating the current version to make it even more precise is my top priority.

And lastly, if you are one of the users who when trying to start sleep the app just spins, I believe this is a bug in watchOS 2 and I have reported this to Apple. I have looked at other app's on the App Store that use motion and similar reviews report of motion permissions not working. If you purchased the app as a new purchase the best way to fix this for most is deleting then reinstalling the app.

have now been using the update for 3 days, 2 on the left wrist (normal hand) and 1 on the dominate hand (right wrist)
the left wrist did track my sleep, But wasn't picking up the "Fell Asleep" "Light Sleep" & " Deep Sleep" to my liking. seemed all over the place. compared to sleep cycle app. (yes i know its different setup)

HOWEVER, soon as i switched over to the right wrist, it all (for me) worked perfectly, everything looked and showed how i imaged it should, and reflected how i was feeling if i had a good night sleep.

I will keep testing and email over the results to "Cabrown"
Thanks again. great work.

So I am considering the purchase of the app and had a question. In the beginning I slept with my watch but from time to time the screen illuminates from movement and it can be bright. Does the app auto dim the display when running?

No at the moment there is no access to the screen for dimming or other uses.

At night, I switch to a custom Watch face. I use the Modular face and include the time, Sleep Pulse 2, sunrise/sunset, and alarm complications. I also have an alternate that just shows the time and Sleep Pulse 2. It's colored red since that color will not dilate the eyes.

Simple answer to this one .. on your watch go to settings, general, wake screen, and set it to OFF. Now the screen will only illuminate when you tap it.

I turn it off before bed, then back on when I wake up.

Just some constructive feedback on the app ... I think the sleep/wake algorithm needs some work. Each night, I only show about 50% of the time I am bed as sleeping. I admit, I am a bit of restless sleeper, but there is no way I am awake for 3.5 hours each night. At most, I am awake for < 15 minutes most nights and usually fall asleep within 5 minutes of getting in bed.

I have tried both dominant and non-dominant arm, and didn't see an appreciable difference.

I am sure the algorithm can be worked out, but it doesn't seem very accurate right now.

i have some issue with the app, when i scroll down the data in the sleep page the app crash every time.
I think that a lock screen option will be a good improvement in the next update, some time i wake up in the morning and i noticed that i've stop the app while i was sleeping. I'm agree with Bob190 by the way. But the app it's pretty amazing right now, just some advice, keep it up man!

My Apple Watch with Sleep Pulse 2 is on my left (non-dominant) wrist. My Fitbit Flex is on my right wrist. I get vastly different results. Prior to the update, to version 2 my results were closer on the numbers.

Found this app in the App Store and am very interested in purchasing. My concern is if the algorithms to calculate your sleep aren't right, how will I know this tracks my ACTUAL sleep?? Seems pretty silly to try to use something that might not even work doesn't it?

I have to agree with this post as well as the older version. Last night I was so tired that I pretty much slept the night through and it said I woke three times for a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes and only slept 5 hours. Maybe it isn't the calculations as much as the category for awake might be more of movement/dreaming/restless because last night, I slept like a baby for most of the night and it should have been more like 7 hours of sleep and maybe 45 minutes of awake/light sleep or at least close to half deep sleep and half light sleep at worst. No way I was awake for almost three hours.

Ran it again last night with the same result. Said I slept 3 hours and was awake for 3 times for 3 hours. Definitely a calculation problem reading movement as wake time. That's all I can figure from the results.

Glad I found this thread. Won't be purchasing this app any time soon unless the creator can assure it actually works.

Do I need to open the app on my phone every day for my data to sync over? I've been using this app every night for a couple weeks now, but as of this morning there are only three days registered in my app data. :/
