You know it's posts like these that make me crazy -- all the time we hear from people who are very anti-ipod/iphone and demand that Apple get back to their roots of the Mac and support for the Mac and here this very person mentions the LEOPARD Operating System, iMacs and Ultra-portables as if there's something wrong with these types of possible announcements.

...

So is a lot about the new OS and probably some type of Hardware announcement(s) -- what's wrong with that?

I don't think you read my post very carefully. What I said was that Leopard is not until Oct, so I'm not going to get excited about it yet. And I said that I *would* be excited for new macs but "we're going to have to wait," meaning that the rumors suggest that the new imac and ultra-portable will NOT be announced tomorrow.

So to answer your question, there's nothing wrong at all with new hardware announcements, and the only thing wrong with a long leopard demonstration is that I can't get my hands on it until Oct.

Please, read more carefully before you attack posts.

Seems like "August" now.

Where did you hear that? I have been looking for information but can't find anything.

I did see where Intel just announced a new set of three different Desktop chipsets in Taiwan a few days ago only there weren't enough details in the article to say exactly what was released.

I was hoping one was SS for the Quad Xeon.

I forgot it was the WWDC tomorrow I'm not even pumped up or anything. There's just too much on my plate right now to even indulge in techno lust.

I don't think we'll see an ultra-portable tomorrow, but who knows. It's obvious that Leopard is going to be a prime area of focus, but some upgraded imacs don't seem horridly far-fetched either.

Thanks for the link to the other thread but it still sounds like speculation about SS update.

The price drop in July was already well known and I don't see how this led MM to predict an August update.

I thought maybe someone had firm evidence of SS release from an Intel document.
I'm still getting "later this year" from my news sources online right now.

I wish they'd release a successor to the 12" PowerBook. I love the size of the MacBooks, but for my needs, I need the graphics card of the MacBook Pros. 15"+ screens are too big for my portable tastes. I'm an electrical engineering major, so does that count towards "developer needs" since it's a developer conference?

I'm so excited that I just watched WWDC 06...for those who forgot...Steve clearly said there are TOP SECRET Leopard features! I thought those were all just rumors!

I want to see XEN support. If nothing else that would make me drop cash on Leopard the day it is released.

Jobs had said a lot of things over the years. The man is full of hot air...for the most part

Has anyone successfully signed up for the SMS updates for tomorrow, I seem to be having difficulty......Twitter support has been no help so far

mac os XI

I predict that if they have a new UI, then it will be justified with touch-screen technology, and they will call it Mac OS XI, you heard it here first, I combined a couple of rumors and it added up to eleven!

Many seem to be ignoring that Leopard will be seeing a much, much bigger implementation of Core Animation. So much so that we may see the biggest advance in the computer's user interface since the original Mac. Something that is hugely overdue.

Sorry but that seems a whole lot more exciting than a little laptop, that other companies have already released, that most seem to be crying for.
