Why the hell would they call a product iPhone@home and remove phone capabilities?

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Fake.
I think they mean it will be a home phone like your standard 2.4ghz cordless phone that syncs your contacts and email and what not. The list is probably fake but it's a cool idea.

I'd like one...but I'm not sure how useful it would be...I mean 30Gb Flash would cost a LOT of cash, and IMO be overpriced for what it does. Hopefully it be more like the Nokia internet tablet...portable.

nah, i think it's has everything except phone. so the internet via wifi and all that other jazz....basically touchscreen ipod

It's not just a cool idea.It's one I advocated 6 months ago.

10" backlit multi-touch display you can hang on your wall like a picture frame.

iPhone front-end GUI.iChat or Skype used as the mode of conversation.
It controls your :apple: TV.Does email. Is portable.
Remove it from it's dock and sit with it in your lap or leave it on the wall.
Although I personally believe it should have a normal phone receiver attached.

Anybody know what the market is for phones ?..

Visualize.....

Visualize.......

you walk into your apartment/condo/house..
Go over to the iPhone@Home and check your messages while turning on your favorite tunes via the TV.

This would sell..

I'm not believing that transcript. While it does sound real, except for the iPhone@home part, I just can't imagine something as big as this being released out into the wild. You would think Jobs keeps his keynote transcript REALLY close.

But yeah, I agree with Daveway. Time for sleep! Good night. :)

I doubt the transcript is genuine, though who knows ?!?

The iPhone@home… well, yes this is something I would want, but I think it would harm sales of the iPhone too much. People will buy the iPhone just to get the new iPod features and larger screen, without really wanting the phone features, so a new iPod would really dent sales.

the transcript looks real...very good fake...but it's said it was in german...why?...google CEO speaks perfect english...(maybe the email had to be translated forsecurity reasons)

anyway...the tablet thing at the end is fishy...when apple is struggling to finish the iPhone (what with taking engineers off of leopard), why would they make another huge product?...unless the engineers were for this product

*i love ramping up anticipation*

I'd really like to see new Mac Pro graphics cards. I was pleasantly surprised to see the MBP updated with the latest nVidia chipsets, so it would be great to see the Mac Pro updated along similar lines.

I hope the WWDC remains Mac-focused, with much of the attention being on the iPhone lately. However, it would be interesting to hear some announcement about 3rd party app development on the iPhone. Most other mobile devkits I've seen on the PC have a software emulator with a "virtual phone" displayed on screen. It would be interesting if Apple released something similar for the iPhone. I think app development on the iPhone would be a lot of fun!

Although I think that article is probably fake, an iPhone@home is not such a stupid idea. A cellphone-less iPhone would be cheaper, easily sold in other countries and easier for apple to make. Sticking Skype or iChat on the iPhone makes sense, but I bet the cellular companies would not allow it. A completely separate product might be the only option for Apple.

Cellular data is so expensive here in NZ anyway, I would happily buy a wifi only iPhone.

What I Want:
half open development for the iPhone (must pass Apple examination and be sold or given away through the iTunes store)
.Mac and some sort of iWork implementation with the iPhone
.Mac improvements for Leopard as well
complete overhaul of Finder and the UI/GUI
new iMacs and/or a mid-tower
something else surprising (basically Apple can show me what I want)

What I Think Will Happen:
maybe two of what I mentioned

Leopard + iWork + iLife would do me. But a new UI is becoming almost critical with the patchwork mess of themes we've got all over the place - especially when the iPhone launches with it's new look interface.
