Android users tend to be smarter with tech than iOS users

Don't get me wrong many youtube tech people have iPhones and iPads and they're knowledgeable

But the vast majority iOS users are "Special"

I use both Android and iOS I switch between the two every week

One time I saw a thread for the iPhone 3GS on the apple forums for the issue of the wifi having a grey symbol Many suggested putting it in the freezer worked

Take a look Lol.. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1648395?start=195

No.

I've been iPhone since 2nd Gen. I work in IT and have had the displeasure of fixing or trying to fix Android devices. Clunky, unpolished, a sea of incoherent menus and each device/manufacturer has their stuff hidden in different places. The freezes, pauses, lag and aged interface is not something I like or want to deal with.

Plus, everything just works at home for me - Apple TV, MacBook, iPad, iPhone and all that. All apps released are pretty much catered for the iPhone/Apple eco-system.

I agree and same situation as You, however been using the iPhone since 2008 I did try the Note II and I have to say it was not bad, however the pen is useless to me. I agree Android experiences depend on the phone and version, one issue I have with android and MFG's is there are so many versions out there on so many different phones, it is just silly the way they are doing it. It seems they all care more about pushing a new device out, regardless of features and OS version just to make a sale.

Apple though only sells a new iPhone once a year, they have spent much more time on the OS, not so much with the HW since the S versions are small bumps.

I have too much invested in Apple and it all just works so well, no need for me to complicate things by switching to Android, I have nothing to gain from doing that.

I'd have to disagree on the S versions being small bumps. I think we see bigger bumps with the S versions. 3GS from 3G was noticeable improvement. 4 from 3GS performance was little improvement except for the retina display. 4S from 4 was by far the largest difference of them all. 5 from 4S was meh.

I would never go back to Andriod or Samsung again. I brought the S4 last year having been an iPhone user since the 3GS, I did like the big screen and that's what drawed me in to getting it.However it wasn't long before I found it buggy, crashing, the app quality was terrible and I was wanting to go back to an iPhone, so as soon as Apple announced the iPhone 5S I ordered one and I'm glad to be back with Apple!!!

Would you trade your iphone for any android phone ? Only serious answers please , no arguments needed just honest opinions !
I did trade my Android phone for an iPhone back in 2012. I got fed up with the Galaxy S3 and switched to the iPhone 5 and haven't regretted it. I find iOS much more pleasant to use and the hardware feels like I am getting what I paid for.

This doesn't mean I will never return to Android though. If they produce something 'I' feel is better than what I am using, it will be strongly considered. :)

Today would I trade for a android phone for iphone 5s in theory. But it can go other way when iPhone 6 will come or no if Samsung does a nice Note 4 model.

I've kinda wanted to try android but I like my iphone so I'm almost afraid to try it.. If I don't like it then I'm stuck for at least 18 months before I can upgrade lol

Not unless they cripple it. I recently had to give up an Apple product, my Airport Extreme, due to them crippling a simple feature almost every other router has that I needed. As long as they continue on the path they are one I'm not going anywhere.

Depending on how long ago you tried Android, and the specific hardware you tried, a lot may have changed.

I currently have an iPhone 5s, but that doesn't mean I'm always going to have an iPhone. Android has some amazing flexibility and functionality that you can't always get in iOS.
Please sir, that sort of sensible educated decision is nit welcome here.. the correct response is to go "hell no, not even if u paid me".. because u have to feel as if u are betraying your Apple brethren with the mere notion that u would consider buying a mobile phone from a different company...

----------

I've yet to see an Android phone compare favorably to the build quality and look of the iPhone 5. .

You confess to not knowing about the HTC one which universally won smartphone of the year 2013.. does this tell you something about how deep your head is buried in the Apple sandpit... It's ok to come up and have a look around.. or r you scared you'll see something you like...

HD One is very good, still not at the level of an iPhone , constructions wise.
Award or not ...

Switching between iphone and M8

"I got a 5S and a M8 so just change between them which ever one I feel like using in the morning. Good to have choice."

Recklesslife, how do you switch back and forth? Do you have different phone numbers associated with the devices? I didn't think you could swap sim cards.

I'm curious as I recently tried the M8 and really liked it but have been nervous about going all in with an Android device as I'm a long time iOS device user.

Thanks

I tried an S4 a few months back. Personally, I liked the phone. The screen was gorgeous and the size wasn't too big ( I have big hands).

However, I really didn't see the whole hype behind android being more customizable. I tried Nova Launcher, and a few other lock screen apps but I really wasn't that impressed by it. Only thing I did like was changing the keyboard.

Another thing was that android stock apps are not as good as ios stock apps. You basically have to go and find better alternatives for almost everything. In the end I wasn't too impressed to leave my ios ecosystem for android although I did like some things about it.

This was basically my experience too.

The thing is, I've switch to Android twice over the past five years and each time only lasted about 6 months. I did the gamut between using a Nexus device and rooting and all that fun stuff. Every single time it didn't draw me in.

I actually love Android. I do. I WANT an Android device. But the problem is that not a SINGLE Android manufacturer can get the damn thing right. Every single one of them has a glaring fault somewhere. For example:

- The Nexus line has a beautifully untouched user experience, but it suffers suffers from crap battery life, terrible displays, and historically awful cameras.

- The Galaxy line has top notch specs and displays, but they're paired with cheap device design, low storage space, the awful Touchwiz interface, a huge amount of bloatware, awful gimmicks, and crappy cameras.

- The HTC devices also have beautiful hardware, but the phones are way too damn big, they have horrible cameras, and the bezels are disgustingly large.

- The LG devices all have a horrible interface.

I could go on. The thing with Android is that Android destroys itself. The complete and utter lack of control has basically allowed for all the manufacturers to get away selling crap devices. At least Microsoft says "Here's Windows phone. You can make any device you want around it, but the OS MUST be held to this standard."

One day, someone will finally create the Android device I've been waiting for that has it all. Until then I'm holding onto my Apple devices. They work magnificently and they have all the best apps, with no extra work on my part to make the experience better.

(Note I only have experience with one of the aforementioned phones, and only for about 5 days, I just want to discuss..)
So I'm sorry to be picky.. but what do you mean the Galaxy line has low storage? The Note line doesn't even come in a 16GB option and of course all of them come with SD slots. I do agree that TouchWiz sucks, but the S-Pen is seriously amazingly useful. It tracks as naturally as a pencil on paper and as someone who draws a lot, I find that mind-blowing in use. The camera is not as bad as people make it out to be- simply because the auto mode sucks. ISO and exposure are adjustable, which is something I wish the iPhone could do.

I have both an iPhone 5 and a Note 3 at the moment, not so sure what to do with the Note but I can tell you that it's truly not 'cheap.' Go pick one up and use it for a while, it's anything but cheap (yes the edges aren't made of metal, we all know that.)

Poppycock.. there's been quite a few recent articles about the low quality of ios stock apps, and how it is better to switch to non stock apps, but a pain as u can't set them to default... Those non stock ios apps, guess where the majority come from.. that's right.. Google..

Like Google Weather or Google Stocks or Google Reminders or Google Camera, etc.?!

If apple released a android version of the apple maps, which is highly unlikely then I may consider it, as the apple maps app wipes the floor with google maps. It would have to be something other than a samsung, as these are, for a flagship phone to fragile, but if the maps thing happened then I would have to think long and hard whether to stay with apple for my phone.
