I've been registered over there for a year. One of the last few posts I made over there was explaining why I gave away my Nexus 7 after getting my Retina Mini and why I bought a 5S instead of a Nexus 5 to replaces my Nexus 4. My user name even had Nexus in it. I thought I was a Nexus user for life. Retina Mini changed all of that and the 5S too.

I agree with your choice, but I can't understand the need to write it on an android enthusiastic forum ...

Switched from an iPhone 3G to a Blackberry Bold.

Hated it.

Then switched from a Blackberry Bold to a Motorola Razr Maxx. (At the insistence of the salesman at Verizon).

Enjoyed the larger screen and the battery life was ridiculous but the OS... Android Ice Cream Sandwich... was soooo cumbersome, confusing, clunky, laggy, unresponsive and downright irritating.

I'm now on an iPhone 5 headed for an upgrade soon. Probably this fall.

I will NOT be buying any Android based piece of tech ever again.

Would you trade your iphone for any android phone ? Only serious answers please , no arguments needed just honest opinions !

Been there done that.

Honestly the nexus 5 was awesome.

If my important contacts didn't use iPhones and havering an android didn't complicate things. I'd still be with that phone.

That's not the point ... I'm registered in both, too, but I'm not storming the android forum to write about how better my iPhone is.

I don't do that. I do mention that I like my iPhones smaller screen and call quality. I find that everyone has an opinion, you just have to know that's all it is. Live and let live. As a former Apple basher, I've learned to become a better person. =]

Hell NO.

Just look at them man. iPhone=BMW. All Droids=Chevrolet. Only the HTC-1 holds *some* appeal to me. There are no Droid feature that's compelling enough to overcome those ugly exteriors.

But don't go by me.

Yeah droid sucks - nobody likes Verizon , but android is a great operating system.

I hate to start anything but Chevy is known for its reliability. BMW is known for its status. Those comparisons don't seem accurate to me. Of course if you're implying androids are ugly but reliable, I'd say I agree on some of them. If having an iPhone is a status like driving a BMW, I'm sorry to say I don't fit the cliche. I got the "Cheap Plastic" iPhone. ;-P

I've yet to see an Android phone compare favorably to the build quality and look of the iPhone 5.

While I have no qualms using a custom built PC at home or in the office, these days, our Phone is a very public device--there's no way I'm carrying an ugly phone period. For the same reason, there's no way I'm carrying an ugly PC laptop brick over a Macbook. This even why lifelong anti-Mac PC folks chose the iPad over the Tablets.

There was a thread over there asking what people woul buy, the 2013 Nexus 7 or the Retina Mini.

I had also made a thread comparing apps using the same app one the Nexus 7 and the iPad. So many of the same apps that I used on both had no tablet version on the Android yet those same apps had iPad versions for a few years.

They asked, I told.

The HTC One is on the same level as the iPhone 5/5s, if not a little better. Plus it has a gorgeous 1080p, 469PPI screen.

Really? I'll have to go take a look then.

Keep in mind it's nearly a year old phone now, hopefully HTC releases something new soon.

Currently if I had to TRADE my iPhone for an android phone, I wouldn't. If I was in the market to BUY a new phone, I'd pick up a 32GB Nexus 5 and save myself $350 over the 32GB iPhone 5s.

As a tech lover that owns a Note 3 I visit many tech sites. What I have noticed is that people that own Android phones are generally happy and the talk of going from Android to Apple is relatively small to non existent at this stage outside of the Apple forums. When I initially went from the Note 2 to the iPhone 5s I felt like I was the only one on the planet to do so. And don't dare mention that on any Android based forum; just not acceptable. That switch would have been a big deal back in 2010 but it's now acceptable to own a 6" Android device without being laughed at. And if people don't like their Samsung Galaxy phones they still have plenty of Android options. But if you don't like iPhone/iOS there is no other option but to jump ship.
Android now has Samsung fanbois vs. HTC fanbois vs. Motorola fanbois vs. LG fanbois vs. Sony fanbois vs. Nexus fanbois and now the Chinese are starting to make decent Android phones. It's kind of depressing to see Android on Android hate. But that just shows how strong Android is today. But it's even more pitiful that you have iPhone lovers that want a large screen vs. those that still want the smaller display. The kicker is that Apple is too afraid to satisfy both parties. That's why people jump ship; one size does not fit all.

I agree in terms of overall build quality and the decision for the front facing speakers. The One is a perfect gateway phone for those coming from the iPhone. I'm just not a fan of the button layout and would have preferred onscreen buttons. And because I'm on Verizon I lost interest when it finally landed months later.
Heck, I would have loved the HTC max but it was just a blown up One with the same specs and slightly poorer build.
As long as Apple increases the screen size to at least 4.5", improve the resolution and add at least 2gig's of ram it's going to be more competitive in 2014 compared to 2013. I can't wait to see the Samsung S5, LG G3, HTC replacement and maybe a Motorola phablet.

I considered the Nexus 5 for a short period of time, but I love my iPhone 5 now that it's jailbroken. So I am sticking with iOS for now.

If I was forced to though, I would definitely go for a Nexus 5, price and built quality are great, and I love that it's stock android that comes with it.

No. Main reasons are that I love the apple ecosystem and would hate to lose the seamlessness with which my phone works with my other devices (iPad, :apple:TV, mac). Other reason is that I'm very comfortable with iOS and this point - and very happy with it as well - so I don't see why I'd switch to something I don't know just for the hell of it.

I was anti android for many years after bad experiences early on. I just switched to the Galaxy Note 3 and can say that Android has come a LONG way. I'm very impressed with the OS, the level of customization is amazing. The Note 3 is a spectacular phone and the battery is phenomenal. I'm happy for now.

I was growing tired of the battery issues with my iPhone 5 and I needed a change.

My desktop OS will never change from Apple.

Opinions .... in MY opinion note 3 isn't even a smartphone, and android, especially after the Samsung "customization", is a bloated os .... Opinions.

Why don't you consider note 3 a smartphone, is it the size? I agree on bloat ware comment. I just removed and turned alot of those items off.
