you do realize that your hip bends when sitting right? Do you have any idea of the pressure that can apply to that millimeter piece of metal? Exactly what is shown in the video. Except you and others will be applying that pressure daily.

I don't apply nearly that much pressure when I sit. Maybe people with skinny jeans will have this issue?

Agree with others. My daily sitting wouldn't cause nearly that much pressure in a concentrated area to bend the phone like that.

Granted when I sit at my desk or table I typically take my phone out of my pocket. But I feel confident enough that my phone wouldn't have that issue with day to day use.

Try bending any smartphone like this and it will bend, please people use your brain. Even the iPhone 5s which is much thicker can be bend easily with your hands, why should the iPhone 6 behave differently?

Bend it you say?

Unfortunately as these devices become thinner and thinner this will become very very common.

I'ts thin aluminum, not inch-thick iron. Granted, it's a concern. But if people want bigger screens without the phone becoming thick and heavy, they have to live with the consequences.

I can hear teeth gritting of millions of people waiting on 6+'s having to watch someone jack his 6+ up.

Only time will tell if this ends up being an issue. These devices are thinner and bigger than ever. The bigger they are, the more they can act like a lever when you push on one end. If the other end can't move, bad things happen.

Why are some of you defending apple so much? They did a **** job designing the phone... Admit it. They're still going to make billions regardless of this but its pretty ridiculous paying such high price for a horrible QC phone.

But Android won't bend!!! :D

Trust me, my Samsung Focus and Galaxy Nexus were the flimsiest pieces of **** I've ever owned. They would bend. Plastic bends easier than aluminuminum.

Yeah plastic doesn't bend, it just cracks and falls apart.

If you have the 6+ in your pocket with the glass facing out and the metal facing your leg. Get into any sport car with bucket seats and get out. Your phone is bent. I traded it for the 6 after owning my 6+ for about 10 minutes. Really sucks too cause I like the screen and landscape mode on the 6+ but it just isn't practical with the vehicle I own.

**edit** glass facing your leg I mean and metal facing out.

In other news, an iPhone dropped from a three story balcony had its screen shattered.

Really?

That's a bit excessive. No one is complaining about a broken phone from a three story building. Getting upset because a phone is bending from literally just being in your pocket is a problem.

I WILL be seriously annoyed if dropped 800-1000 bucks on a phone and it bent!

This is hilarious. Who knew you could take a millimeter thick piece of metal and bend it when trying.

I'm shocked.
Seriously. I'm just as shocked with the number of people who lack common sense. Since my first pocketable cell phone (the Startac), I made sure nothing else goes in that pocket and pay attention to it if I had to contort my body that could put excessive pressure on the phone.

But it wasn't just in his pocket. He deliberately bent it using force with his hands. On purpose. Are these now supposed to be indestructible?

esactly - these people who complain of it bending is just apple hating. Seriously, you are suppose to get a nice man purse to hold that i6+ - i have one now and it's easy to use. Don't be a fool to put any phone in you're pocket. Makes zero sense.

apple is not stupid to design a phone without first testing it. I stand by their design because I paid full price for my i6+ and it's just ludicrous to hear people yap out false scenarios of their phones bending.

There is no faulty apple products I've ever owned - even iPhone 4with the so called antenna gate issue wasn't an issue because I use a case anyway didn't affect me at all. People should learn to shut up about these things because I can see the envy. It's quite sad

It was also bent before he started from normal use. Re-watch if needed.

Yes. I weigh 240 pounds. If I put an iPhone in my pocket and I sit on it, guess what's going to happen?

So now we need an advisory. Don't apply more than 25 lbs of force to your phone case. Is that it? It's people like this that made lawyers money and cars with yellow stickers on the visors....

But the bending is not simply because it's in your pocket when you're sitting down. As much as the few who have bent the 6+ are denying that they didn't bump into a table, there's still a great deal of force needed to bend the superthin 6+. Yes Apple should have attempted to strengthen the area around the volumn buttons. But the few bent phones are still user inflicted damage.

I have a Evo with Recaro seats there we go. Now I know why mine is bent :(

This does not concern me. I just held my wife's Galaxy S4 in my hands. I have no doubt that if I really applied pressure to it, I could bend it as well.
