So pissed all these tech nerds get the 6 Plus for these dumb ass videos and I can't get my hands on one, and probably won't for weeks! :p

I agree. I don't think a phone would sustain this much pressure in normal, everyday use. Nevertheless, the phone shouldn't bend at all under normal conditions.

Maybe in the back pockets of jeans with long sitting you might easily have this happen. Unless you wear very baggy jeans or something.

Since the iphone 5 there have been bend issues and jony ive and their team has done nothing to fix that.

You have to handle your iphone with extreme care to about any bending issues.

When I travel I always use my iphone 4S, maybe this is the right decision to avoid a bend issue while you carry a bag or do other things in a hurry.

Yes. I've been taking my cell phone out of my jeans pocket when I sit, ever since I destroyed my first Qualcomm QCP-2760 that way. This is definitely not new.

I didn't say, nor imply it was new. If that is what you got from my question, apologies. I am merely saying it's not something feasible for me. Baseball game? yeah, no thanks. Dinner at a nice restaurant? Again, no thanks. Happy it works for you though. Majority of folks don't seem to do it.

How do you figure it is amazing that you can bend the Plus. I bet I could fold a Galaxy 5 in half! No that big of a deal.

Aluminum is not steel and will bend. Aplle gave us thin and light and sacrificed structural integrity. The did it with the 5 and now the 6.

Can't believe there is any surprise here.

I thought the video itself was amazing. The ease at which he bent that sucker and the angle he got on the glass without cracking it.

I don't understand why people who don't want a bent phone are being talked to like idiots. And that's not specifically directed towards you, by the way. I don't think it's unreasonable to keep your phone in your pants while you sit, but I am being told by another guy that it's "nothing new". The reviewer himself pointed out that ihis phone was slightly bent from normal use. I guess we should start asking what pants people are wearing and tell them they are wearing them wrong, much like what was being said about the iPhone 4 and the antenna issues (which some claim was never an issue even though Apple officially launched a remedy program).

One reviewer and one person on this site had bent 6's. So still be mindful.

that's because the phone has been out for literally a few days.

Per a normal distribution of occurrences, there are to be few now, and a lot more once everyone starts using it, and getting theirs.

the question is, will putting it in a case partially prevent this?

I'm starting to worry.

thats exactly what i am thinking too i have had my phone since friday and i have had it in a case ever since i got the phone. its been in my pocket for most of the day i sit i walk i run with it in my pocket and its not bent at all.

i am guessing the case prevents the phone from bending because it adds more structure support to the phone?

hopefully i am right with this because so far my 6 plus has no bents whats so ever!!!!

It just sucks that people have this brand new phone and now it's bent. We have no way of knowing if they put their phone in the front or back pocket, whether they were wearing skinny jeans or relaxed fit or baggy. The issue is that yes this can happen if you put enough pressure on the 6+ you can bend it, but this should not happen from day to day use. This is an expensive device and I would be mad if I kept my phone in my pocket like most people and pulled it out and noticed it was bent. There is no reason to attack anyone's intelligence or be an a** to anyone.

I have already decided to return my iPhone and go with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. This is pretty inexcusable in my opinion. They should have thought this through before they sacrificed structural rigidity for thinness. Really disappointed and I hope they can fix it next year.

I don't think there's any question that a hard plastic case would make the phone harder to bend. Most of the torsional pressure would be on the plastic case first and not the phone.

yep, i have seen on the videos that people don't have the phone on a case.

and tim cooks response "to prevent iPhone from bending buy our leather case"

I agree! Can someone answer this?

i have had my plus in a case since day one and its in my pocket for most of the day sit, run, walk. its not bent all angles perfectly fine

It's not necessarily its a surprise it just sucks that it happens to some users is all.

If this becomes a widespread defect it will become like "Antenna-Gate" and Apple giving us the free bumper. Maybe the temporary solution from them is to make a free steel Bumper. Like these on Amazon - http://tinyurl.com/nhwumbj

God that would be crass and mess up the whole design. Probably scratch the edges, curved glass as well.

..or they will basically say "deal with it" and they will strengthen the weak points in the new phone next year in 6S, 6S Plus.

He will still make more money on that video than you will in a entire year. Atleast he can afford to destroy his brand new 6 plus for science.

SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 3 Bend Test

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwM4ypi3at0&feature

Disclaimer: I own the 6 Plus, and it's not bent lol.

Clearly he WAS NOT BENDING that NOTE 3 as hard as he was the i6+

You guys who say it can bend is blind as a bat. There's no way my i6+ will bend in my pocket even if I tried.

This FUD has to stop.

PS - even though that note 3 has a larger screen and smaller body than my i6+, I'd never want to touch that plastic junk even if it was free.
