Hey Milsy, first of all, thanks for all the feedback! I have some questions I'd like to ask :p

Firstly, in the first set of pictures, the back looks nasty. Are those smudges and prints in the film? Are they harder or easier to get than on the iPhone 4? (I deduced from a response of yours they are harder, but English is not my native language so I'd better check :D) Also, are they easily cleanable?

Secondly, how would you classify its glare? You say from the pictures-against-the-sun that the screen is more viewable than what the photos show. "How much more viewable" is it? (tough question to answer, I know... sorry!)

Thirdly (and I know some other user already asked this), could you please make a video of it? :p

I have my wrapsol unltra put on. I have tried numerous wraps on my 3g and never liked them. I think I am really going to like this one. Feels good in hand. You can tell it is there at first if you are used to holding phone without it. But after a few hours you will not notice it.

Tip on application. Once on it may be to far or to close to and edge you can push the edges and kind of stretch them to get it like you want it. It will not move much like the wet installs but will stretch a bit.

For those who have asked the ultra does seem to have a light adhesive on it. It is not like the crystal film with no adhesive. But it does pull up easily while installing I had to pull it off and straighten and did so with no problem.

Matte!

Here you go guys! Not the best pictures in the world, but hopefully good enough to answer some questions and concerns!

Thanks for pics, so this is the original not the ultra correct? Did you install the front protector also? I would like to see the front.

thank you! man that matte back is growing on me! hmmmmmmmm I already ordered the ultra though. Did you get ground shipping? if so how long did it take?

I ended up installing the ultra film on both my phone, and the wife's. I took a stab at the dry install and it came out terrible. Luckily the stuff is forgiving and you can peel it off and give it another try. I remembered the rep at Wrapsol telling me the ultra could be installed wet or dry, so I sprayed the back of the film and applied it that way and it came out flawless. I used the wet method for both phones, and am very happy with the results. To compare it with Zagg, the install was much easier to get right and the quality of the film is much better.

Oh, and someone asked about the using a bumper with the ultra film. I've got a bumper on my wife's phone and it fits perfectly.

I didn't do ground, I did over night shipping.

Did your ultra already ship? You can call Wrapsol and tell them to switch your order if yours hasn't yet!

When I called Wrapsol, they said that ground shipping usually took 3-6 business days.

Here are the pics I promised you! Unfortunately my camera sucks so I couldn't get focused pictures on the sides. :( Perhaps you can see them from my previous pictures?

Keep in mind I JUST installed this (30 minutes ago), so the little tiny dots are the bubbles. There are no fingerprint marks underneath it or anything! Just little tiny bubbles.

Don't buy it.

Wow. So disappointed.

The underside (adhesive side) of mine was a bit dirty upon arrival. No way to get it clean and installed it looked like crap.

No bubbles really, but just looked junky.

Yuk.

I know its going to be a hassle, but why not get a replacement? Sure you'll have to ship it back (or take pictures), but at least you'll get a nice new one!

I just went for the Ultra. It's like putting up vinyl lettering in a sign shop. And yes, you can use the wet method on it. Just need to use the right formula in the spray. This is my first iPhone and first Wrapsol product. This forum rules.

I can't wait for the product to arrive.

Did you find that using the "rubber squeegee" thing actually left marks on the film?

They seem to be impossible to get off.

Argh. What am I doing wrong? I've never had any of these issues with any other films before.

What did you spray it with? I assume you did not get the spray from Wrapsol since you ordered the Ultra; did you have some just laying around or make your own?

If you made it what formula did you use to make it?

Actually, yes. I did get some marks. I'm going to sound stupid for saying this, but most of mine actually went away. I figured that were indentations in the film from me pressing down rather them being scratches.

Hmm. I'm not sure what to do.

This film may be protective, but I feel like it takes a super sexy piece of hardware and makes it look like *****. Just cheap and cheesy looking IMO.

Maybe I'll just stick with a Griffin Reveal (that protects the back) and go naked on the front. Grr.

Nah. It's going back.
Too much money for me to feel this way about the end result.

Whoever came up with the "dry application" as "the way to go" is smoking something I'd like a few hits of on the weekend.

So the front is also matte? hmmm I would like to change my shipping to overnight, don't know what kind of things might happen within a week lol. I would like to protect my phone asap. I'm still opting for the ultra. I 'm going to try and call them today if they are in and change my shipping method.

(If you happen to notice that little streak on the left side of the screen it's because im an idiot with long hair and a loose hair somehow ended up under the screen when i was applying it and is not an error on them [but to be fair i cant tell its there when looking at a powered up screen])

You can probably get that out with some scotch tape. I've had cat fur float under my screen protectors before just as I was applying them. I just use one piece of tape to lift the film up, and another piece to grab the hair. Good as new. :)

How long have you had it on?

Just today. But mine had smudges on the underside from the get go.

And I have the "ultra"...it looks plenty cheap in my opinion, especially up around the earhole/front camera where there's no backlight so reflections always look "plasticky".

Just not for me. Not meant to knock those that are pumped about it.

have you had any other films before? So in your opinion with the ultra installed on the phone, it looks like there is something o nthe phone? It doesn't seem invisible?

I'm on the journey to find a protector film that when installed on the iphone doesn't look like it's there at all

Yeah. I've had many films on the last few iPhones. I feel like the positive about this wrapsol is also a negative. It's so thick and vinyly that I would never say it's "invisible".

I hope others have a better time with it.

Oh no no. The front is clear, not matte. The only difference between the ultra and the original is the back piece, original being matte, ultra being clear. And of course the dry/wet application process.

Sweet, this is good to know, I was on the fence about dry applying the ultra. I used to place decals on the lexan bodies of R/C cars and always used windex for that stuff. However when it comes to electronics, I use a very light solution of a drop or 2 of dishwashing soap with a large bowl of warm water. I've wet applied bodyguardz on my 13" mbp and my iPad. Wet application helps with controlling fingerprints and dust if applied properly as well as being very forgiving when trying to align the skin.
