Can someone explain the 'wet' application process? I'm pretty clumsy and I'm wondering if there's a chance that you will damage the phone by putting something wet on it. I preordered an iphone 4 today; it will be my first iphone :D

You will have to spray the film with a solution and yes, there is a chance you could harm your phone if you let the liquid drip into the phone. It worries me every time I do it but I have done it 4 times already and have had no problems. If you are a notoriously clumsy or just flat out unlucky person then I suggest using a dry protector.

You are supposed to leave your phone OFF for like 12-24 hours so it has time to dry incase you do get some solution in the phone.

What I want is matte front and back and no spray required. :(
Hoping they'll (or someone) will make what I want.

So what exactly does the "drop" protection entail? It's 5 dollars more. Anyone know how it works? I can't find anything on the site.

I realize my question cannot be iphone 4 specific since neitger product is currently shipping... But just so i have an idea of what to possibly expect, has anyone ever tried using wrapsol with any of the otterbox cases with your previous phones (3G/S)?

Wrapsol is fine for general use for me, but i work as a pro audio installer/ field engineer for churches and am constantly in dusty environments and/or crawling under stages and depend on otterbox in those situations.

Just wondering if the two products play nice.

wow that does look pretty nice. I think I will have to go for the original. The wet application is no big deal. Especially with the flat back of the iPhone 4. The 3G/3Gs were only difficult because of the curved back

Now, the question is what are the side pieces that go on the steel....matte?...or clear? You should call back and report back ;)

Even though I probably wont even put the side pieces on

I'm going to go ahead and assume the side pieces will also be matte finish. I have Wrapsol original for my iPad and the side pieces are matte.

it's tougher and thicker then most skins. I still wouldn't expect it to protect from drops as well as a case, but better then most skins.

I can only speak for the original but it does fit with the 3gs however it is tight and I've never left it in the otterbox for a long period of time. My guess would be that the Ultra would not fit well since it's supposedly thicker. Also, not sure if the side skins on either one would fit well on either the ultra or the original. It's difficult to find a case that works very well with any skin. I use a griffin reveal and that works nice. I think any slip on case would work well because they aren't naturally as tight as other cases.

Love wrapsol. Going to stick with the original for iPhone 4 as I prefer the matte, and feel the original offers pretty decent protection as is, and with the bumper I'll have no worries.

Discount Code

Just preordered the Ultra and used the discount code "chatter" for 20% off:)

I just cancelled my order for the Ultra and placed my order for the original. I don't need drop protection and if I did, I would use a case over a skin. I was told that the front and sides are glossy and only the back is matte.

Well thats good to know about the sides. I hoped that they wernt matte as well.

Im kind of worried about the front protector though. In the past Ive always used a power support static cling front screen protector. Not sure how i feel about getting the front wet yet, plus I think I would like the convienience knowing I could take it off really easily if I want

Update:
Just ordered an original, iPhone 4 Pre-Order!

Just preordered the Ultra and used the discount code "chatter" for 20% off:)

Thanks for the coupon code too!

You wrapsol "veterans" might already know this but I'll post it for other who might not know. I was strongly considering the ultra for my iphone 4 but I had concerns about getting it, putting it on and then having to exchange the phone for some reason. Obviously, once this stuff is on you're not going to want to take it off and put it on another phone so if you have to turn in your phone to Apple, there goes your $30 wrapsol with it; however, I just got off the phone with wrapsol and they told me that if that happens, you can go to their warranty page and get a full replacement for just a $5 shipping charge. It might not seem like a big deal to some of you guys since the chances of having to exchange your phone are slim, but it actually made enough of a difference to me that I just went ahead and ordered the ultra. I'm still not sure if I'm going to use the front piece (I've been Power Support Anti-Glare with my old 3G and the 3GS that I'll soon be replacing) but this stuff sounds great for someone like me who is interested mostly in scratch protection and maybe the occasional drop.

Hope this info helps someone - it sure helped me! And thanks to all for the helpful information posted here.

Good to know. Does anyone know by chance if when getting a replacment through warrenty, do you have to send your old skin back to them? Or do you just get a new one and dont have to send anything back?

I would assume they would want you to send it back just to make sure you aren't getting multiples and just selling them or giving them away.

They do not make you send the old skin back. I have done this twice with the one I have for my MBP and have never been asked to send one back.

I've been holding off on the Ultra because of the Anti-Glare finish, since it makes the screen a little washy. How hard is it to put on the regular Wrapsol? I'm a little clumsy, so I've also been hesitant about getting the regular.

Is the anti-glare that bad some of you guys won't buy it because of it?

Just ordered the Ultra. Thanks for that coupon, it really helps, since shipping and tax was almost 8 bucks... I decided on the Ultra since the customer rep email in the previous post said that it was "more clear". I would definitely want the least amount of interference in the retina display.

sucks that it wont ship until the phones ship. You'd figure people would want to put it on their brand new phone as it comes out of the box.

I agree. If I could have the wrapsol by the 24th, I'd put it on right after I activated my phone so it would be protected right away.

meh, if you cant keep it looking nice for a week until it arrives then maybe you should get an otterbox ;)

Have you guys that have used wrapsol for the front before, have you had any orange peel effect or anything? Im used to a power support anti-glare static cling type.

I just preordered mine. They are shipping already? I really hope it comes in on or before the 24th. I use a Wrapsol original on my 3gs and I love it. The matte back looks great and it really fingerprint proofs it, which is what was most important to me.

How much was shipping?

"Just ordered the Ultra. Thanks for that coupon, it really helps, since shipping and tax was almost 8 bucks..."
Nevermind

I'd like to know this as well. I've been a ps anti-glare user as well but you really do sacrifice some clarity with it. It would be nice if I could just use the wrapsol ultra on the front but I'm worried that it might be a fingerprint magnet. Plus I'm curious about the clarity as well.

These skins look good. I'm going to hold off for a bit. Some of the skins (various companies) sometimes have fit problems on the first production sets which they usually iron out quickly. It happened with the iPad skins from what I saw on here. I'd like to use it naked for awhile anyway.
