I'll edit my post. I meant original.

I've posted plenty of pics and such in this thread, just a slip up because I've started to look for other options. I know what I'm talking about and if you follow back you'll see I even posted pics. I'm just so frustrated at this point!

YF just contacted me. I'm at my end!

So frustrating because I like the material and everything but how hard is it to get a problem free skin! :(:(:(

And just like that I am being sent another replacement.

Love the customer service, hate the quality control!

I'm at the point of keeping my fingers crossed. :(

After getting tired of seeing the instructions on the front film I decided to take it off and replace it with the original that was sent to me yesterday. So far I like the original MUCH better. I will give it a couple of days to see how it looks without all the micro bubbles.

Well, my replacement Ultra skins came today .. was excited so I opened up the package and the skins were completely free in the packaging so they came with absolutely no adhesive obviously and are unable to be installed.

Just finished requesting another replacement on their website. :(

This blows because I really do appreciate their customer service but I am not sure what or how this is happening. How do skins go out when they're not even stuck to anything?

EDIT: I was wrong. They are stuck to a clear backing that I didn't know was there. A little sneaky but when I tried to split a skin apart I saw there were 2 things stuck together.

I'm not calling you out or anything but check them again. My replacements came today also, and while they appear not to have any backing at first glance they're there. These pieces have the backing cut to the same proportion as the skin, and feel very similar on both sides.

Hopefully this is the case for yours as well.

Since I rec'd an Ultra today, I can help you.

There is a very thin layer of clear plastic you have to peel off. It's very difficult to know that it is there, but it certainly is there.

And you don't need any adhesive. It's a dry install.

Really?

Oh I need to check again .. Thanks guys.

EDIT. You're right! I just ever-so-slightly tried to peel away the side of one of them and it is stuck to another sheet.

Whyyyyyyyy would they have them both be the same exact cutout and clarity. Lol. Oh well, I'm an idiot for getting fooled. Need to go e-mail Support@Wrapsol to cancel my replacement.

No idea... a few head scratchers in terms of packaging with their product before sure.

Is the matte finish on the original back self-healing too?

It's not the same material.

I would say no, but I haven't had any issues with the matte backing. They are phenomenal. It's tough in its own way so I wouldn't worry too much.

Yes, absolutely.

It's a little thicker than I would want on my phone but it definitely is top notch. The protection would certainly be there.

I still prefer the Original though.

Just installed my replacements for the Ultra. I used the squeegee, it left some marks in the film, I hope these go away in a day or two. I steamed up the bathroom, and wet my fingers with the hot water. Install not too bad, seems to look better as each hour passes.
I think they should include the wetting solution even with the ultra, at least to keep your fingers wet with.
How long to wait until I install the bumper? Still have not decided to use the sides yet.
Was tap-water fine to use?

Can someone please chime in and let me know if there's any orange peel effect with the Original and if it's a fingerprint magnet? I'm not interested in the Ultra (been there, done that), just the original. Thanks.

I have the original, the back is matte and leaves no finger prints at all. It's gripy and has no orange peel effect. The front looks like glass, very little orange peel effect if any. Finger prints will show up, but it's not bad and they can wipe right away.

is anyone else having issues with the film on the back causing problems with the flash? Anytime I take a picture with flash the picture turns out with a blue tint in the middle...

There is some slight orange peel on the back film, but the front is clear, and yes to fingerprints but easily wipes away. Ps this is for the Ultra.

I got my ultra replacement today and was excited to see it packaged properly. Then I put the front on my phone and there is a horizontal scratch on the front film that runs about an inch and a half across. Argh I'm tired of wrapsol and their crap quality, I just want my money back. I should have just went with power support like I had originally planned.

Okay.

Customer Service is great. I got refunded for overnight shipping.

Got the replacement today... But...

A scratch on the back film... So notice-able... QC? or my luck? Off ordering another replacement, but only standard shipping offered, no more overnight... argh...

Overall, everything looks a lot better than first batch... except the scratch that can be felt running fingernail across it... argh....

Getting frustrated...

What to do to ensure I get a perfect set?

LOL at the above replies and many others saying "installed mine TODAY...looks like crap". How many times must it be said after 24 hours most of these "scratches" disappear with the replacement sets.

It has been over 36 hours for me and the front of mine still looks bad, the "grainy fog" spots just won't seem to go away, and anywhere that I tried to help bubbles go out there is some major orange peal. The back looks great other that one tiny (1mm) bubble that just doesn't seem to want to go away.

Orange Peel

For those that keep asking about the "orange peel" effect of the front screen, I took a picture to show it. Notice, I am not shooting this straight on, it is at an angle, which is when you will notice the effect the most. Looking straight on, you do NOT notice it much, if at all. But I did want to show you all that it is there because some people keep saying that it is not there at all, which is just false.

EDIT: The cross-like shadow is from a window by the way. Just a reflection. :)

FWIW: I installed my replacement Ultras on hubby's iPhone and 48 hours later, they look perfect. I wore surgical gloves (non-powdered) for the install with nary a fingerprint.

I thought about doing the surgical glove thing too but was worried about the powder Where did you get the non-powdered?

Looks like a pretty poor install job to me. It's been a full 2 days since I installed my Original and the front looks flawless.
