Ya know, I'll give Wrapsol some credit for trying to fix their mistake.

The sides and back cut outs are much much better. Hell, the front is actually better too.

But the quality control of the front skins are just bad. I've had two replacements and every single one (including the original that I posted pictures of) has had *some* strange, oil-spill looking pattern to it. I kept trying my luck hoping the next one would be better, maybe it needed time to dry, etc. but alas, there is something wrong that is making these skins look like this.

Maybe it's not even Wrapsol's fault. Fed Ex has left each package outside in the NorthEast heat and maybe that has caused the "glue" to leak or something. I don't know.

I've given up though. Again, I love the new cut sides and the matte back enough that I probably will buy again in the future. But the front skin is bad enough that I can pretty much expect to not use it. It's such a shame too, because if they didn't have this odd pattern I would like them equally as well and be 100% satisfied. They have the cut out around the front camera exactly as I want in a skin.

I feel like I can call up support and get help again but I'm just at my end of hoping they can send me a solid front.

I might just leave this bad looking front on and go with something else.

If I can offer any advice, maybe you should put some sort of cover on BOTH sides when shipping. I don't know if this strange pattern is due to the front being uncovered and sticking or what, but it may help. Again, I have the Original.

I had that weird oil-looking substance on my front skin too! My replacement came yesterday, so I am going to give it one more try.

So then it can't be the heat, I'm guessing. Must be something in the production process.

Hopefully they are getting it under control. I have another replacement supposedly shipping today. Someone from Wrapsol is supposed to be taking care of it.

I guess we'll see.

Hmmz... this isn't making it any easier for me... I'm getting my iPhone 4 next week and had almost ordered the Wrapsol Ultra until I came across this thread. I then started to think about an SPG Steinhell EX Ultra Crystal but it turns out they have issues with the camera flash hole :(

I'm still willing to give either one a chance (however I'm still leaning towards the Wrapsol), but seeing as I live in The Netherlands it would probably take way too long to get a replacement if neccessary.

Gonna sit and think about this dilemma some more...

And if you're in the Netherlands, you're pretty much going to have to wait for replacements no matter what. You won't have to worry about getting a bad Wrapsol film at this point. Also, why not both? I know a lot of people like SGP on the front, Wrapsol on the back. ;)

This is the sort of bull that I'm talking about. I got a bad Wrapsol front TUESDAY.

Stop making up garbage. You're happy with what you had but you're completely spreading false junk in these forums.

Hopefully others see your terrible comments for what they are.

Juggels,

The sides and the back seem to be completely free of errors at this point for the originals, but they seem to be a toss-up for the front. You can at least rest assured that if your skin needs a replacement, Wrapsol is doing what they can to make you happy. It's a quality product but they seem to still be sorting out their issues. I would say go for it, just be prepared in case you need to get a replacement.

Definitely go with the steinheil (they now have a flash cut out), or any other brand protector for that matter. Wrapsol needs a serious wake up call on their quality control, and should start hiring more qualified workers.

Received my Wrapsol Ultra today. Like most everyone else, the packaging was second rate. Pieces stuck together, etc. After a quick and very helpful call, they set me back up with a replacement and upgraded it to over night shipping.

Because I'm also difficult, I called back 10 minutes later and asked if I could change my order to the Original (the matte back looked more and more appealing) and they changed it without any hassles.

So all in all, the QC on this batch may not have been the best, but the customer service was excellent. As long as they can get their QC issues straightened out I'll be a return customer.

I just received my new wrapsol ultra and the quality control has become a lot better now. I just applied the back protector and it looks great, a few streaks from packaging here and there but nothing as bad as last time. I know all of these streaks and bubbles will go away in a few days so I'm not worried at all.

I'm not sure if I received all the side pieces so if someone could post a picture of their new package with the side pieces that would be greatly appreciated.

I initially got the Ultra. Terrible mess due to packing. Got a replacement in Original style instead. I have not pit it on yet. Likely will tonight. I can tell you the films were packages perfectly and the film look pristine. Nothink stuck together. No text imprints that I can see. I don't know about the quality of the Ultra replacements, but I can say that the original looks like a winner.

I just installed the Wrapsol Original on my phone after having the ZAGG on for 2 weeks .. WOW.

I like the Original a lot. The front is a much better cut than the ZAGG and I love the matte backing. The only SMALL hiccup is that the skins don't seem to reach the top and bottoms of the iPhone glass on the front and back enough to complete the glass, but I assume Wrapsol has corrected that already.

I didn't install the side strips because I'm worried they'll inhibit me using a bumper case.

Also, you gotta love everything Wrapsol packs with the skins .. from the spray solution which is 2x bigger than most other companies (I used only an 1/8th of mine), directions, micro-fiber, squeegee .. all sweet.

It's only been an hour since I installed so I know it'll look even better after 2 days.

I bought a new car today, paid full price, and upon receipt of the vehicle, noticed that there were scratches and dents everywhere, and the leather interior was torn in several places. Once I called them on it, they told me that if I fill out an online form, they'll send out a new one ASAP, and hopefully it will be better. Damn that's an awesome company!

iPhone skin =/= car

I got my original today, and it looks good, the front has a very slight imprint from the instructions but I expect that to go away. The only problem is that I am completely missing one of the side peices, and not one of the small ones, it is the long one under the volume buttons, and the rear camera/flash cutout seems to be just a tiny bit of, so I will still be requesting a replacement. And looking at the new side pictures it looks like I got the old version...

I have installed it, and the fit is good, it doesn't look very good right now, but that is because of tiny microbubbles that I expect to disappear quickly.

Overall it seems nice, just a couple little things that need fixing.

Just an update... 5+ hours later, and the front still looks like crap, a few of the microbubbles have disappeared, but there still seem to be some marks from the from being stuck to the instructions. I sure hope it looks better in the morning!

The back looks great though, only a couple of small bubbles, but they seem to be going away.

can i just call and complain about it instead of doing it online because it asks me to send & upload a pic. i received the product jsut like how everybody else on here said it was. im very disappointed with the product & quality of it.

Give it about 3-4 days, that is when the marks and streaks from the packaging went away.

Has anyone had success on applying an Ultra film on an iPhone 4 then putting a bumper after it is fully cured? I'm looking on going to that direction since eventually I know I'm gonna drop my iPhone accidentally and the film alone won't save it.

I've heard/saw some of the users that when you apply the bumper on a film application (then fully cured), some of the sides are lifted by the bumper. I'm thinking they did a wrong application? Or something?? A guy posted in another thread that BSE worked perfectly with a bumper, I was hoping if anyone here had an Ultra that fit perfectly with a bumper as well (that can share their thoughts).

Hey quick Question

I recieved the Wrapsol of iPad and I was missing the side pieces should I call or just email them?

Thanks

I've got a bumper on my Wrapsol Original.
The film had been applied for a week when I put the bumper on and it's a really tight fit. When I first put it on, the corners kinda lifted up at the bottom (as if there were bubbles), but I quickly reapplied the bumper and used a needle to under the sides to lift the bumpers edge over the film. That worked and now it looks great.

My advice is that its doable and great if you do it perfectly, but its difficult to get right. Having said that, the Wrapsol is great and I'd rather the skin over the bumper.

Hey yellow frog, got a question ..

I installed my Original skin for my iPhone 4 12 hours ago and didn't use it till this morning when I put it in my pocket.

Came into work today and the matte back moved to a side a good amount. I used a bit of force to put it back into place and was a little shocked and worried that it could move so easily after 12 hours.

Is this normal? Will it stay in place after a couple more days?

Now the side of the skin that moved slightly off the edge of the phone is white underneath meaning I guess it got some dust and stuff beneath.

Nieval, did you put the side strips that came with the wrapsol? I also purchased the wrapsol original for iphone 4. I read may conflicting advises about the side strip installation. Some say bumper won't fit when it's installed while others say the fit will be better when it's there.

Wrapsol Ultra "Rave"

With all the negative press that Wrapsol has been getting, I had to post my "rave" on here.

I ordered 2 of the Ultras for the iPhone 4 and 1 Ultra for the iPhone 3G. When I initially received my package last week, I only received 1 Ultra for the iPhone 4. I called Tuesday (since there was a holiday on Monday) reported the missing shipment and also requested a replacement skin for the one that I did receive (since I got part of the old batch). They overnighted all 3 skins to me and I received them yesterday.

Packaging of the new skins was excellent. It's obvious these things are quality controlled now. There were thin sheets of tissue paper between the skins to prevent the skins from sticking to each other (or the instructions).

I applied the iPhone 4 skins to my phone and my mom's phone and they are both flawless. It is much improved over the skin I got replaced (that was from the bad batch), and it looks awesome on the phone. I used the steamy bathroom, wet installation method (even though I was applying Ultras). Bubbles were under the front and back skins, but now less than 24 hours later, all bubbles have disappeared and the phone looks perfect. I can post photos later if anyone wants to see them.

Also, after using the squeegee there were some marks on the skin, but those disappeared after a few hours too. Clearly these skins can heal themselves when given time.

I also applied the front cover to my husband's iPhone 3G and it looks great too.

I plan to use a bumper, but I'm holding off on putting my bumper on until after the skin has fully cured. In the meantime, I applied the side strips to protect the sides until I can apply the bumper, and the side strips look great too! If I wasn't planning to use a bumper, I would absolutely use the side strips.

If anyone has any questions on application method or anything like that, let me know!
