You shouldn't have done that! Assuming that you actually are the seer, we have to take out Chris before he is scanned, and have to take you out asap or the werewolves will infect you and we'll be screwed again.

Hah... that's actually true... if we nix chrmjenkins then we have to get rid of King Mook Mook next day... outing yourself just got you killed either way... I guess there's hunter protection but that only helps so much.

Chrmjenkins. Thanks mook. But if he is the goth will that be revealed when he's lynched? Assuming he isn't activated yet.

Gotta bold it.

I assume the undertaker (if still alive) would cry foul if chrmjenkins isn't the goth... but no... if they're not a WW or Vamp then all we'll know is a villager died.

No "As he swung there, the song revealed his striking black makeup and punk rock t-shirt, and the wind blew up his shirt sleeves to reveal the self inflicted wounds on his arm?" sigh...

Hey guys. I'll go ahead and remove all doubt and confirm that I'm a goth. KMM's post before he outed was so bloody obvious that I picked out his identity pretty easily. I was going to use that as leverage if my total started getting near lynching again (ie, I threaten to out the seer if you guys are going to lynch me). I didn't count on him being so foolish for one of the most insignificant bad guys there can be.

Thing is, I don't like being a bad guy. I have a hard time forcing myself to play one even in video games. I'm all for the good guys and the triumph over evil and such. So, here's what I can offer (a rather weak offer I admit):

I can function as the vampire seer. I will continue to scan for the vampire until I find him/her, at which point you'll be notified by a second killing that night. The following day, I'll reveal the head vampire's identity (and the second, in the rare possibility we both find him the same night and I am privileged to learn his identity too). You'll then have to lynch me (or the v. hunter can insta-kill me, since the second goth will become powerless). Since we'll have to kill one person that first night, I'll see if I can target KMM if you guys so desire. If he is a werewolf, the attack will fail and we will not end up killing anyone. I doubt I can influence that vote being a hostile participant. The sad fact is that I am likely not the first one who will find the head vampire, since the vampire and second goth will effectively have twice the scans I do. If they find each other before I do, I'll tell you I haven't found the vampire. At that point you can believe me and let me continue to scan, or you can lynch me if you don't believe me. I am not immune to werewolf infection, but I'll threaten them with the same guilty conscience ploy. It's also very possible the vampires would kill me if they find each other so I can't out them.

My hope is that this would make me so toxic a player that the wolves and vamps won't touch me (as far as me joining them). I'm actually helping the wolves out, so I don't expect they'll find reason to eat me. I think the end result is that if you trust me, it's going to be a net benefit for the villagers. I also really like trying to find the bad guys, which is why I'd like to hang around.

I don't expect you guys to go for this. For one, it's way too much trust to put in one person. Two, I think a fair amount of you will find this unsportsmanlike and taking the fun out of the game. I'm content with offering this for the happy fact that I cannot force you guys to give me an out. I'm just sorry that I made you guys lose your seer when all he managed to find is a goth.

Finally, I can tell you the result of my first night's scan. Mscriv is not the head vampire. He may be a goth or a werewolf or anything else, but he's not the head vamp. I'm glad to be able to clear him because I think he's one of your guys' best hopes. I was really impressed with his insight last game, so I hope he gets to stick around (if he's good).

All that being said, I invite you to go ahead and lynch me and I'll leave this world as happily as one can expect.

I think we need a rule clarification before we can even consider your plan chrmjenkins. I've never been a vampire/goth so I don't know exactly how the scanning works. Since the head vampire now knows that you are the goth then can he/she scan you and activate himself/herself without you knowing who he/she is? Ravenvii can you let us know does the act of the vampire correctly scanning the goth in and of itself reveal to both parties the identity of the other? If the vampire can be activated without you learning his/her identity then keeping you around would only serve to set us up for two killings each night with no recourse.

As you mention, I'm also not sure about the sportsmanship aspect of this kind of play. It's not like when RP turned on the vamps when he was a werewolf. WW's and vamps are on different sides and actually playing against each other. If you follow through with your plan as stated then you are actually going against the intended purpose and design of the goth character. Though it would benefit the village, I'm not sure it's fair to the players who are in the roles of vampire and goth.

I'm not taking this offer, nor do I think that it is in the spirit of the game.

Yeah I'm sticking with my vote... while I trust him as a person, I don't trust his emo-gothness... :p I'd feel worse at the end of the game when we lose because we didn't off him than if we lose and we "might of won" if we keep him. It's a self preservation offer IMO. Although I guess all of us are just trying to stay alive...

I agree. My right to self preservation does not exceed others' right to a fair game. FWIW, I would know the vamp because I have to know who to PM from the host for it to be official.

That's a good question. My interpretation is that once the Vampire scans the Goth, the vampire PM's the Goth (or they other way round should the Goth scan the Vampire) and at that point they become active and away they go drinking Bloody Marys at the villagers expense.

I actually like the non sportsmanship participation. The last game provided a strategic surprise courtesy of Rodimus Prime and now this game does as well. I think that's part of the fun and it makes everybody think. Nobody expects the unexpected (or the Spanish Inquisition).

My vote remains. Just too much risk. But not sure what's the big deal with chrmjenkins's idea. I remember a wolf once turned on the vamps before he was killed. I also saw it 'not in the spirit of the game' but no one said anything. But maybe I'm biased because I was a vamp then :p.

Wolves and vampires are not on the same side.

Word of advice before I die. I don't think you can afford to leave KMM alive. Of you think it's so obvious that the wolves won't do it, that's all they need you to keep thinking while they feed on you AND his information. KMM could very possibly lead to the wolves convincing you to lynch your own hunter and undertaker, eliminating his protection and one shot. Is keeping him alive worth that risk?

SP, it's more than self preservation (like last round). It has something to offer the villagers, plus it's less people to consider for vote each round.
