Possible, but they could be waiting longer, they could be wolf, and It wasn't 100% sure to be there in the first place
We should just assume it's not there , and treat it as a bonus if they show up

Re the Oracle, I am not at all sure that one of us has (or had) the power.

Given that two have been killed so far, it is relatively unlikely (but not impossible) that one of those could have been the Oracle. To my mind, it is - perhaps - equally possible that it might to have been put into the mix in the first place.

However, another thing to bear in mind is that not everyone has actually shown up and voted.

cant someone scan dead players?

looking more like a wolf has the oracle...

True. That is another possibility (that a wolf has the Oracle); I hadn't considered that.

To answer your question, the Undertaker can, (scan dead players) assuming that the power is in play, and has been assigned to the Village. It is a nice power, as its importance increases as the days pass, given that more information becomes available as more individuals die.

You should. I get tired of being voted off day one or two all the time.

See? Not everyone wants you gone. :D

Ok! since we focused on oracle and we just need to wait, I would like to adress the seer point of view.

Last game I had some difficulties being the seer and all ;) I've waited too long for the like of many people and now I want to help the one we have right now. Hopefully he will not have scanned chrmjenkins last night.

How many days should he wait to reveal his information in a game this big ? Like the oracle, this part is tricky. Should he try to make it to day 4 if it's not a prime target like Don't panic or on day 3 is fairly a good day?

It depends on what they find
If they only clear players, they should wait a bit but still voice their opinon regarding those players ( without outing themselves) so that the could be possibly cleared in retrospective even if the seer dies

The undertaker is core, so they certainly were in place at the beginning of the game

Oracle: as memtioned early there is decent chance (~15%) they are ww,
And a small chance tehy were not in play

I don't think you did anything terribly wrong. Waiting is usually a good choice, you did a great job of staying alive. Last game was a combination of late game paranoia trumping good sense (my fault entirely), bad timing with things coming down to one last vote/day, and some good spin doctoring by Don't panic. Once you scan a wolf that late in the game, I'd just come out with it. I understand your attempt to glean as much information as possible, but your hesitating left a crack for doubt to creep in.

One obvious time when you wouldn't: if you get an Alpha very early on. Other than that, it is up to the seer to determine when the balance of self preservation vs. knowledge already obtained shifts in favor of helping the village. I dislike others telling someone how to play their role, although there are some basic guidelines that have worked to get the most out of certain roles.

No oracle means no trimming of the suspect pool just yet. rick snagwell.

chrmjenkins was not the oracle.

Queen of Spades has made some very good points, which I would agree with pretty broadly.

As a Seer, when you identify a wolf, I think that knowledge needs to be acted upon - and communicated clearly and unambiguously so there is no room for doubt, or for doubt to be created. In turn, the village needs to act upon such news when it is received; I have seen cases where villages dawdled inexplicably.

In any case, the Seer has a balancing act to carry out; as the primary target of the wolves, the Seer must try to stay alive long enough to accumulate sufficient information for it to be useful for the Village, while mindful of the fact that the wolves will do everything in their power to kill him/her. This may also mean lying low,
ands not attracting attention to him/her self until it is time to come clean with whatever information has been successfully gleaned.

Re the Oracle, it is useful - especially when the Question is tightly framed - but I have also seen situations where an Oracle's answer diverted the Village for two to three days, two to three days which could also usefully have been spent mulling over other pieces of information, instead of allowing one factoid undue prominence. Sometimes, where things last five days, a delay of two to three days can cost a village a game.

thats a fact. that leaves the chances on astroboy, or a wolf. so i think we can throw the oracle out. i would ask the votes against me to be looked at again, villager here, dont kill another one.

It seems a little odd. If you're implying you're the seer(or undertaker) I don't understand why you would come out so early.
well techgod, i havent outed myself as anything, i havent implied anything. and as the top vote getter, i am trying to show some usefulness for the villagers.

how about you?

Cant be undertaker as chrmjenkins wasn't dead until morning. There are other possibilities other than rick being the Seer though assuming we believe rick's statement.

As far as I'm concerned, you can't say anything for "fact" unless you have a role that would give you that ability. I can't be useful to the village yet because nothing concrete is coming out therefore I don't feel it appropriate to comment.

i agree with QoS.
you played well until the end where you left me an opening, especially with the hunter story. your poor luck with he scans helped, and also consider that i was fully expecting to be pointed at, so i had a story ready, and had tried to 'seed' bits early on to make it more credible (but the seer should always expect the WW to have an exit plan)

meanwhile i am switching from rick to intell

You basically have outed yourself. The only way you can be certain that chrmjenkins is not the oracle is if you have the means to find that out. Changing my vote for obvious reasons. Intell.
