It's simple, put yourselves in the traitors' shoes. Your comrade is starting to attract votes. What do you do? Try and stave off the building bandwagon by joining another? Or do think, it's too late, and jump aboard to separate yourself early and deflect suspicion elsewhere?

No votes are useless. Especially not ones that off a traitor.

That's why I can't see much in them. They could be either way. Or even split. The baddies may not have even known he was a traitor depending on which traitor he was.

We also need to look at who voted late (made a meaningless vote at that time).

WoodNUFC
Comeagain?
Sythas

Sir Twietee, I have made my choice so I'm on record. I will of course change my vote to whomever you say is guilty.
Making an accusation without your lords agreement. That sounds like a step on the road to treason Plutonius

I'd add scepticalscribe to this list. She questioned our Javtrain and threw her vote away going after Sythas (who then retaliated).

Of course I questioned your 'jav train'. Nobody knew who jav was in the first day, - the band wagon got lucky - and I do not ever, as a matter of principle, join band wagons, unless the proof against the person is overwhelming, which it wasn't in this case. Nor did I 'throw' my vote away. I voted once and saw no need to change it (unlike some others who seem to have hastily amended theirs).

However, I do detect an attempt to get a band wagon rolling here, a sort of queasy twietee and Sythas combination, heaving and pushing to get the rutted wheels moving.

I have to say that if Jav was a traitor, and he did not betray and killed you, then the only possible conclusion, my dear, is that you are indeed in league with him...

Nobody ever really knows who we're about to lynch but we have to take that risk and responsibility nevertheless. And we have so many formidable players that overhelming proof is hard to come by.

Also all I did was putting you into the category of those who voted rather late and 'threw' their votes away. Opposed to those who 'piled' upon jav. Two categories who are equally suspicious in my book.

My lords and ladies, the accusations so far.

And since last game was a lesson to me:

I'd like to state that the overtly helpful SilentPanda-award goes to FenrisMoonlight. :D

This attempt at 'logic' baffles me. As I have said, nobody knew who he was (apart from a few close colleagues, if even that, depending on his role, which we do not, as yet, know); first day lynchings are almost always a blind rush of blood, and are almost invariably wrong. More to the point, they are usually among the most unjust expressions of collective blood lust and led to mumbling apologies subsequenly to the unjustly slain deceased. Not in this case, naturally enough.

Anyway, anyone who knows me and knows my participatory style knows that I detest band wagons, and never climb aboard unless compelling evidence suggests that I ought to consider it. Nobody yesterday presented compelling evidence against jav.

Moreover, at this stage, given the various permutations involved, I would be surprised if all of the Traitors were in communication with one another, and, in some instances, have even been able to make themselves known to one another.

I will admit that the sustained targeting of me at this stage is of greater interest and will take the time to state that I am not on the side of those wreaking havoc and evil.

Re jav, the one thing that does surprise me is that he made such little effort to defend himself and deflect attention away from himself. However, time constraints and the demands of real life sometimes mean that one can be ambushed.

I take it SilentPanda was a Cylon in that game? In my defence I was the second person to vote for Jav.

Also, the first time I used my script I was the Alpha! mmm - that's probably not helping my case is it?

Yeah, surprised me too. Also his claims of being a Targaryen. I'm wondering if that's a traitor trying to hide in plain sight, thinking we wouldn't accuse him as its too obvious or an unsubtle hint to the traitors of being the red man.

Pluto, why Comeagain?

I take it you have strong reasons to take matters into your own hand - what I appreciate actually.

I'm torn, ratio says costabunny, belly says different.

costabunny

i dont know how experienced you are at this game, but seems jumping on the ucfgrad and jav bandwagon looks suspicious.

Just to make it fairer to all (and maybe also to help show myself as true and honest) - This is my first game - still a bit bemused but now trying to take in all the comments and make sense of who is what etc.

I always shall remain a loyal subject, there being not an ounce of traitorous blood in my veins!

I say 'Ni' to those that would challenge my integrity, rick snagwell!

I'm always sorry to see Don't Panic go, especially so early in a game. His analyses are often second to none, and his skill as a player has been well-documented. Who would want to see him offed so quickly?

Who, indeed.

It's been pointed out that we have a lot of new or less-experienced players in this game, but we also have a lot of the old guard lingering around. Those are the ones who know DP's value to the "good guys," and the ones who would want to see him eliminated early.

The trouble is that there are too many such people left in the game for me to make a definite conclusion. At least one of those old-school players is a traitor, and suggested DP as the first nighttime casualty; I'm quite sure of it.

My guess is that it's one (or more) of the following:

Comeagain?
Scepticalscribe
Moyank24
Plutonius
Queen of Spades
Koodauw

That's a pretty long list for this stage of the game. Long enough to use random.org to choose.

Sorry, Queen of Spades

Experienced players know it's a very bad idea for WW to pile on hoping to clear themselves (it gives you great visibility). Most of the time, WW will not change their votes or will make a meaningless vote. In the first turn, there are many meaningless votes but, what has my attention, are the meaningless votes cast after the Jav bandwagon. These people obviously wanted to stay out of the spotlight.

The list of people are
WoodNUFC
Comeagain?
Sythas

I have no reason to think Comeagain? is a traitor but I wanted to choose someone from the list.

Re-reading the first day, I have to retract my statement regarding scepticalscribe. She did vote midterm - ucfgrad still leading with 4-3 against Jav - I was under a different impression.

costabunny playing her first round could explain her voting behavior. Enough for me atm.
There are lots of people flying under the radar I don't know as well. Difficult.

Good, we agree about that. Have to tinker some more before I cast my vote.

OK I am going to use a bit of thought on this. Others are suggesting good reasons why to suspect certain peoples as being traitors.

I have no way to know which is more likely, but to try I shall go with one of those suggestions (lets see if the 'peoples' are more accurate than my tit-for-tat approach).....

I shall say that Sythas is a candidate for being shifty......
