And coffee. And cheese.....And wine. Thus, I will readily concede that I am more than partial to a large glass (or two) of rich, indeed, robust, red wine, the sort that is luscious on the tongue, and perhaps, a little lethal to the liver, and will happily discuss details of real (or imagined) varietals and vintages......
Re that particular post, I think I may have been answering a point DP made about selections of wines on offer in our part of this universe, and wished to add to it, which makes it a response on viniculture, not a 'pointless diatribe'.
And, re the art of conversation online, methinks that the silent taciturn approach is grossly over-rated and - a separate issue, this - subjected to too little scrutiny.......
