New intel Macs on the way and 3-5 of support at least... Ok, intel not so dead.
Yep. When people were piling on me when i said Arm will not only be faster but will have access to MORE software, this was a point i repeatedly made.
So they're still gonna release intel macs for the next 2 years and macos updates for years to come.

So it sounds like they are not committed to the switch if new INTEL stuff is still coming out.
And you as well.
They need it for the new iPad anyway (likely the same designers simultaneously designed both, and the difference is only at how the top level blocks are arranged and how many of them there are). That’s how we used to do things.
So Apple announced the Intel switch in June 2005 and the last OS to support PowerPC was Leopard which was released in Fall 2007.
That dev kit will be application only and most likely will require an active app on the App Store. Just saying. 😏
Well, Tim is saying support for intel Macs will last for years and they have intel macs in the pipeline. So the transition should be smooth and intel owners will not be screwed I think.
IMHO probably they plan to keep Intel in the very top end machines, or just in the Mac Pro at least, so it will stay supported for a while.

Yeah, we're not excited Tim. We want the new, faster silicon! But most people who buy hardware don't even know what ARM is or that anything is changing so it's NBD for them. For me? I'm in the market for a new MBP and would prefer to not buy something that is going to be outdated soon and burn my balls off.

Intel executives are punching the air right now! I know they are in a boardroom pissed.
Given how much Adobe wants people on CC, I would strongly doubt it.
Want to bet? Being able to run any iphone app on your device natively will be a huge draw for a lot of people who don’t know anything about macs but love their phones.
