Stanford Univ. has closeout sales on the current iMacs. They have close ties to Apple, and I have noticed earlier that they have Apple products on closeout sale that have updates coming in the near future. I am pretty sure that some inside information is guiding those sales. That closeout has been going on for a few weeks, so we might see new iMacs soon still.

Glad to see I'm the only one here who remembers NeatGekko's antics earlier this year. I became a little concerned whe I started looking through this thread and saw so many newbies and members! I must say, I honestly didn't thnk he'd show his face here again...
Hey everyone! I am still here! New displays tomorrow! Watch for em! The sizes are going to be 20, 23, and 30 inches with an aluminum look. They are sweet looking! And DVI! See them soon! Cheers

I hope they come out with the new iMac since they are way behind these days, they are behind the iBooks in several respects and that is just pathetic, I just got a new 15" powerbook and the 1.5 in that will run circles around the iMacs now, and for about the same price as the 20" so they must have something up their sleeve for tomorrow's keynote, if they don't, then a huge mistake for apple

Also, I just got my gf to switch, bought a previous model ibookG4 933 14" for $1099 at the Somerset Apple Store in Troy, MI on Saturday.

I really hope they do have info on releasing new G5 iMacs. It would serve the Apple community right to have that kind of update to the iMac. And I agree like most people I've read on here, the iMac is too far behind technology. It's time for an update. Apple only has 6 models of computers to choose from. eMac, iMac, iBook, PowerBook, G4PowerPC, and G5PowerPC. Considering this, and the fact that they ALL cost a pretty penny, they atleast need to all be up to par with technology. The need for speed is important in selling a computer of any kind, the faster we do things on our computers the faster we get on with our lives... with the least amount of headaches. I hope all the rumors just remain rumors and the G5 iMacs will eventually appear. If not, then what? Apple only has those six computers to sell to their buyers as it is... They have to eventually update the iMac. Unless they're just going to dissregard it or create a whole new desktopPC. But that doesn't seem likely to me. I just hope they update it and update it soon, it needs to be done. You can't leave a computer the same for that many months without updating it's hardware... It's just not fair!

today is a sad day for my dream,it just faded,damn.well after seeing the new updates(nothing)the only thing that is left to do is wait to see if the update the iMac some day in the summer

True. I guess when we see a prediction by a "newbie" we should take it with a mine of salt. So, when's the next big event? Paris? We'll see them back talking about what's definitely going to be released.
How about those displays, though? I wish I (a) had money, and (b) needed one. They look pretty slick. Were there any Airport price cuts? thediesel was bang-on with the prices.
