Honestly, the best way to get the iPhone X, 8+, or 8 you want is via the in-store reservation option since lines are probably absurd as it is?

I saw lines last year for the 7/7+ and I can imagine it being worse for the X.

That was easy. Woke up this morning and scored two T-Mobile phones online for pickup at local Apple Store. No camping out, waiting in lines, etc. Cancelled online order. Feel bad for those putting phones on eBay when there will be stock readily available.

Well, the scalpers either made $ by luck or they will have to contend with rough buyers.

Thanks!

So for someone who has a pre-order not arriving for two more weeks, what is the appropriate strategy here?

Do I use this website at a certain time each morning? And if I find a phone do I cancel my preorder and then wait a few minutes and then reserve it at the Apple store? Is there a risk that I can get caught not getting a phone in the store that day and having accidentally canceled my preorder as a result?

I checked this morning on the apple store app. It showed my store had them in stock. I canceled my order real quick then ordered the phone I wanted easy as pie. Picked it up hours later. Better than waiting a month for my delivery.

Ups or FedEx delivers daily except Sunday. The phone that arrive today go on sale the next day. Sunday may not be good.

Let me make sure I understand. So whatever phones that they receive today will go on sale tomorrow? will I be able to reserve one maybe tonight after they've been loaded up into their system?

That is what they told me. He did say they have the least to sell on Sunday as they hold some for Monday am. They update inventory at like 5am in the morning.

My nearest Apple store (north GA) sold out iPhone X.
Today I visited the store because I want to return and rebuy iPhone x which were delivered to my house yesterday then use $200 gift card from Barclays Apple rewards. I need to wait around 20 mins. I saw several people who picked up iPhone X but majority people were there for checking Apple products. I heard one of employees conversation and they said one guy came to work yesterday 11am and decent people at the stores and the other employee replied that he came at 7am and there were so many people were lined up and they sold around 600 phones yesterday.

Seems like Kuo was off by a mile with supply issues?
Hate those analysts. They are just manipulating stock prices legally and taking all the profits with speculating comments which turns out to be not true at all.
Kuo always said same thing that iPhone X will be extremely limited until 2018 but everyone anticipated.
Obviously he did not think that Apple will reduce production for iPhone 8 and 8 plus and make more iPhone X.

Not only that. He isn't privy to contracts, supply chain management cycles, etc. Though he does sometime discuss possible concepts that Apple eventually includes. Like USB Type C power delivery in some facet since Lightning does have the ability to be charged at 29W now.

Your best times to check stock would be either very early in the morning, 3-4 hours before before stores open or early afternoon when new shipments arrive and inventory gets updated.

Reserved mine this morning. In and out in 20 minutes. Guy behind me was standing in line 2 hours early for his reservation  Lots of international tourists buying iPhone X's at the Santa Monica Apple Store.

Central Florida must be a hot spot for this phone....None have been available at the 11 local Apple stores since release. Called local Verizon stores and they basically laughed at my. My EDD is 12/1, still showing processing....

Not true. Up until about 11 a.m., all of the Apple Stores in the area had phones available for pickup. I just got back from the Millenia store to pick up my wife's that I reserved this morning. I'm ATT, but the rep said they had Verizon phones available for walk-ins this morning (only Verizon, in fact).

It’s nice to see stock being available for people to pick up on or around release day. I’m sure a couple lucky scalpers made some money but most will have to eat the device or return it back to the store as people are quickly finding out they can get the phone in store @ MSRP. Apple didn’t necessarily say that stock was going to be scarce, analysts did. I’ve never really had a problem getting the iPhone I wanted on or around release day in the past. I think when the 6 was released that was the hardest to get your hands on one, especially the exact configuration you wanted.

:eek::eek: Damn, I must of missed em before they got bought up. I’ve been stalking the apple site all day.

Walked into my Apple store off the street in Walnut Creek, CA and walked out 2 hours later with 64GB space gray phone all set up and synced. No appointment. Great phone, just setting my watch now.

The demand is not what they say. Another stale release. Since jobs is gone i have not really been wow’d by any release. I just ordered for for wife and get the same delivery as ordering at 0300 release day

Silly question here, though I've never been part of the IUP. My wife ordered a phone and it won't be here for another two weeks. 1.) How can one check store stock when the app keeps asking for your phone information from your carrier? 2.) Isi it even possible to cancel your order if already placed with the IUP and then go to a store and join again?
