It's been the same old song and dance for you Andavoid users for years. Inferior software, lack of support and serious, I mean serious p***s envy. Apple abused you for years and years with battery live and integration. At the time you clowns spouted off about superior hardware even though it didn't show up in real-time use. NOW you talk about superior (laughable) battery time but shrug off getting abused in Geekbench scores. It must be absolutely embarrassing that Apple uses half the memory and still has a more robust, stable and powerful processor.
Keep up the good work Boomer.

samsung will never sell a certain phone as well as apple simply b/c they have too much competition in the android space. heck just this month about 4 more android phones are coming out, two of them flagship phones from google and huawei. way too many choices to choose from. android fans aren't stuck buying from one company.

apple lovers dont want to talk about ios vs android sales though. or ios vs android market share. because both don't look pretty.

at the end of the day though, i dont care about sales from any company. i care about having a phone that can do the most and do it smoothly while lasting all day.

Android is free what’s the point in talking about android sales?

When you look at oems and asp as well as sales it paints a completely different picture.

Have you ever attended a financial analysis class at university?

If that feature mattered so much for apple fans they would just use it on their iPad.

It’s a nice feature but not something I personally used it. Hell my dad has the note 9 and has never used it either.

I would love the iPhone to have it but it’s not a deal breaker. Maybe we will get it in a few years.

No, android manufacturers or oems make money through hardware sales or phones.

Android is free.

What real stats?

Samsung is losing money hand over fist because their android hardware is not selling, or Lack of demand.

Your chart is from last year. We are in q3 2018.
Don’t let dates stand in the way of your facts.

LOL why only in the us? Aren't iPhones made in China and sold worldwide? Oh right it wouldn't fit your narrative.

"Samsung Electronics recently published its earnings guidance for Q1 2018, indicating that it is likely to post its largest-ever quarterly operating profit. The company expects operating profits to grow by about 58% year-over-year to 15.6 trillion won (about $14.7 billion), with revenues rising by about 19% to 60 trillion won."

Let me spell it out for you Boomerang. The iPhone is much more expensive in just about every country than any Android device and that includes the Note 9. The Chinese are a huge consumer of phones and price is paramount.
If and I mean If, all things being equal and iPhones were the same or cheaper than Android, there'd be no reason for Android to exist. Lesson over son.

i like how you're so smug for being completely wrong lol.

apple having the highest phone prices isnt a good thing. thats why the stats back up that they are losing market share every single year to android. people aren't suckers. they dont wanna pay a premium for an inferior product.

The XsMAX does not feel like a superior Device than the Note 9.

You missed some important words so I FIFY.

Talking about market share is a stupid debate anyway. Apple doesn't care about OS market share. They just want to be the most profitable company in the world, and it's working.

It's funny how I come with stats and charts and all you have are insults. Kinda says a lot.....
Things usually don't go accordingly when you come by a Mac Forum and run your Note 9 up a pole. There's one or two of you that occasionally find your way here and can't figure out the exits. It's tiring because it's been going on for years with no end in sight.

its actually pretty fun seeing people with apple blinders on get all riled up. truth hurts.

when someone comes to a debate with stats and the other with insults, its clearly already a beat down.

I assume that Apple cares about market share since that encourages developers and peripheral manufacturers to support Apple's products. And that, in turn, impacts Apple's profit.

Nobody has blinders on. Most of us here have had Android gizmos at one time or another and got fed up with their lack of support, fragmentation, security and lousy resale value. Fool me once shame on you. You'll figure it out in due time.

Android has dominated the global mobile OS market share for the last seven years, yet developers stay more focused on iOS. One would assume because the App Store generates a substantially higher amount of revenue. Again, it really all comes down to profitability. Even taking away Apple's 30% cut from the App Store figures below, iOS is still more profitable in the long-run for developers.

To further add to the theory of profitability being the driving force, look at the substantial amount of downloads the Google Play Store holds over the App Store in the figure below. Downloads are more than double for Google Play Store, but developer profit is somehow less, even after Apple's 30% cut. This is why I say OS market share doesn't matter as long as both parties are making money. If Android's seven years of global OS market dominance haven't mattered by now, I'm not sure it ever will.

Yes, Apple prioritizes profit margins over market share, but you originally stated that "Apple doesn't care about OS market share." That can't be true for the reason I stated. Tim Cook usually talks about the number of people switching from Android to iOS in his quarterly earnings calls.

You didn’t know current financials made a difference?

You must be joking. Sorry but a lot has changed in a couple of quarters. But I suspect you know that choosing to post financials in the quarter before the s9 was released.

Especially after the failures that were both the s9 and the galaxy note 9. In fact the s9 was such a failure it dragged down operating profits for Samsung display 19% yoy. Good thing apple is buying oled displays from Samsung display or they would have been in much more trouble.

Here is a preview of last quarters financials, thing are not looking good. For Samsung mobile.

Guess the note 9 is another failure for Samsung this year.

“Samsung’s mobile division will see operating profit drop for a third quarter in a row, hurt by sluggish demand for smartphones as the market matures. Marketing costs for its new Galaxy Note series also pressured mobile earnings

Looks like all the freebies and heavily discounted note 9s at launch are negatively impacting Samsung mobiles bottom line. Good thing Samsung semiconductor and Samsung display are picking up the slack.

“Galaxy S9 device missed sales targets and competition from cheaper Chinese-made phones ate into margins for its mobile business.”

First S9 and now note 9, not a good year so far for Samsung mobile. Judging from the amount of galaxy users switching to the iPhone X’s max and other devices, this current quarter isn’t looking any better either.

Guess all the features mentioned above didn’t make much difference to consumers at the end of the day.

i mean can post articles without any #'s in them too. i'll actually provide the link instead of picking and choosing parts of articles to post like you. they are doing so bad they're about to set a new record in profit in the third quarter after setting the record in the 1st quarter of 2018. bankruptcy is definitely on the horizon....

Picking and choosing.
You mean posting about Samsung mobile, that’s picking and choosing?
Smh.

Should we discuss the fact that Samsung semiconductor now represents 80% of operating profits after Samsung mobile has capitulated due to terrible s9 and note 9 sales?

Or would you like to discuss Samsung displays operating profit declining 19% yoy due to cratering s9 and note 9 sales?

Or that Samsung semiconductor has reached peak sales? Meaning decline in profit for Samsung semiconductor from here on out?

Numbers come out Friday. Your not going to like the numbers they post on Friday I guarantee it.

Should have shown some humility, but probably for the best you didn’t.
