The irony of my avatar...

That is due to the DCI-P3 Wide Color Gamut screen on the iPhone 7.. It looks warmer because the color is actually accurate and the screen on the 6s and earlier was not.. The new 9.7" iPad Pro looks the same.

That doesn't explain the significantly reduced brightness.

Either way, it's unacceptable.

There should not be a brightness difference. I've compared my 6 and 7 side-to-side and they are the same brightness (when set to max). However, the slightly warmer colour of the 7 may make it appear as if it is very slightly less bright when looking at pure white.

This is fairly true to life on my screen:

right and by my rough estimation, that seems off.

has any one not gotten a warm to the point of yellow 7/7+? Are these unicorn panels or nonexistent?

GOing to try to pick up my matte 7 in a bit, we'll see how it goes

may even pick up a second one, for this reason , to compare two units.

or get a different capacity / size (doubt they'll have 7+ or 128 7's, picking up my 7 32 matte) but we'll see,

we'll also see if this is even doable on a lunch break, may or may not be

My silver 128 7+ doesn't look like any of those warmer pictures. Same cool white as my 6S+ had. Looks like it could be an issue with certain phones. I would take it to a genius when things cool down.

if so, like to know how it went and maybe post some pictures here. Thanks!

I posted a pic in the first impressions thread, but my 7+ MB also doesn't look as bright as my 6s+.

That being said, I was about to finish writing this post and suddenly my brightness dropped on the 7+. I went to my settings and auto-brightness was still off and everything maxed out.

Had to go to BB to compare with a 6s on display. On this very thread to compare, the 7 on max is not a bright as the 6s and the 7 is much more yellowish.

This happens every single year. Nothing to worry about. I went through 3 iPhone 6's and just realized the screens are warmer than the predecessors.

glad i dont have a 6s+ to compare it to, fairly white/cool temp but depends on lighting environment sometimes it looked crazy, I recall my 6s+ running warmer and a little crazier with colors than 6+ but it was so minute,

Dust accumulating or whatever in top left was driving me nuts too,

drove my anal retentiveness nuts before i realized 1gb of ram drove me more nuts,

I'm curious who is supplying the screens this go round,

nevermind, no I'm not, it's apple -- specs don't matter.

... :p

THIS is very disappointing... First the phones ARE exactly the same, I can't tell the 6 from the 7. AND If the OP said wow, look how much brighter the 7s is on the RIGHT... I would have said YEAH... Well worth the purchase. BUT all I am reading is , Oh its warmer... I've never heard warmer use as a BS excuse, but now I have... Return that POS...
