THIS! Most that are complaining obviously don't work in field where color calibrated screens are a necessity.

EYEGATE!

More like OCDgate trying to exaggerate a non-issue and nitpicking every little thing. If playing the lottery and wasting time on exchanges is your thing, by all means do your thing. It's none of my business lol.

If your screen is piss yellow and not uniformed then you have a defective screen. I'm speaking towards the ones with a normal warm screen that think they have a piss yellow screen but they don't.

Except its two different issues. White is not yellow, and people arent just simply mistaken. We've already seen examples of 7's at exactly 6500k, and they are beautiful, and not matching the yellow and green tint displays we've seen in this thread. Those displays are more like 5000k or lower.

Yes I do. I had too many QC issues in the past, in the end I gained nothing. I wasted more time doing exchanges when I could have enjoyed the phone and not nitpick every little issue. It solves one thing but another issue presented itself. One of the biggest issue I had with the 6s+ was a dead pixel followed by dust constantly building up on the top left corner of the screen. After two or three exchanges, the dust kept returning. As that post suggested, for the first time I am happy with the 7 QC wise and will not play the lottery game anymore.

Let's see my screen is not piss yellow but a nice warm even screen with greater contrast and better colors than my 6s+. The 7+ is also dead even in calibration when comparing to my rmbp and iMac. I have no hissing sound. That to me my 7 is a keeper.

I hear you. i also wouldn't want people thinking their yellow screen is OK cause it might just be warmth. I know you said that but it bears repeating. No one who puts a phone at 6500k next to their 6s would think the 7 was warm. Its barely a difference in temp. Yellow is not equal to warm.

Yeah it should not be drastically warmer than the 6s, that to me leans more towards piss yellow. When I compared my 7+ and wife's 7 to the 6s, it was a slight warm difference but nothing drastic. I also made sure both screens were uniformed.

I'm definitely not suggesting keeping piss yellow screen. I will return that in a heart beat. I'm just trying to warn the ones with normal warm screen thinking they are piss yellow and about to join the lottery game hehe.

My new 7 Plus I got yesterday tinges yellow toward the bottom right of the screen. Drives my head nuts. Wouldn't be an issue if it were the same color throughout the display.

Also my display clicks some, like it wasn't glued down particularly well.

I don't really feel a desire to deal with the replacement game, so I'm thinking I might sit this year out with my 6s Plus.

If you have nothing to add other than bashing people that they have OCD or are wrong that they have a problem. Just *******, nobody here wants to see you telling them they are wrong when CLEARLY many people have a YELLOW display. Enjoy your perfect iphone, put that effort towards supporting trump. You are the consumer every company, including apple wants.

Here's my manufacturer info. My screen is perfect, posted pics earlier in thread. iPhone 7 matte black 128gb Verizon.

  • Factory: F4G - China, Shanghai - Pegatron-Protek

  • Year: 2016

  • Week: 36 (05.09 - 11.09)

  • Age: Infant
My screen is great, IMHO. No hissing either.

Factor: F2L
Same Year
Week: 37 (12.9 - 15.9)
Same Age.

I went to the Apple Store Grand Central last night (in NYC) and compared my 7+ to all the display phones. Much to my surprise, mine was noticeably nicer than all of them (whiter whites, a bit brighter, and slightly more vivid colors). I excepted to see the opposite, so I am glad that I got a good panel.

As it's been said many times before, Apple uses different display suppliers and while each panel will be within Apple's ordered spec, they will vary from one supplier to the next. Unfortunately there is still the display lottery with every iPhone release. The bottom line is, if you're not happy with your display, swap. This is a $1k phone, the display shouldn't be uneven or skew yellow/green.

And while mine is a great display, it's still a bit too warm for my taste, so I applied a very slight color tint in the accessibility menu and now it's just right. I am glad Apple finally added the option to tweak color settings. Now, if they would just add an optional dark theme and get rid of all that stark white, sub-par displays would be less obvious. ;)

To put this issue to bed so that people stop telling us that it's just color temperature, here's a picture of my 7 Plus. This isn't color temperature, - this is just bad manufacturing.

Is that 'feathering' on the right side of the screen??

Hi all.

Below my factory / date infos. I definitely noticed the warm color on my iPhone 7 Plus on the first boot.
Just to be clear, I am 100% convinced that iPhone 6S where too blueish. I used to work as a photographer, I still do photo and edit them on a calibrated screen. Putting my 6S next to me editing screen shows how the 6S is too cold in temp color. But unfortunately, my iPhone 7 Plus is too warm.
This said, I was wondering if mine was not just normal, but not as well calibrated as a screen monitor on which I used a a dedicated sonde.
Only idea I had was to get to an Apple Store and compare my iPhone with theirs. I only compared it to black iPhone 7, to avoid any influence from the white surroundings on other models. Without a doubt I can tell you mine was warmer, very much. In fact, it's like mine had Nightshift on.
And slightly dimmer... (brightness to max and auto off on mine and on Apple's demo phones)

So I will send mine back and wait for another one, soon I hope.

This is my 7. It was a white box replacement yesterday and I'm going back n Saturday for one more try.
I actually find the new screen quite jarring when moving from my iPad Air 2 to my iPhone 7.

Changing my Galaxy S7 display to Basic mode actually makes it look even warmer and more yellow than my iPhone 7 (but it's the opposite on Adaptive Mode). So that seems to imply that it's normal for the iPhone 7 to be slightly warmer than the iPhone 6S as the Galaxy S7 is known to have one of the best calibrated displays in terms of colour accuracy whilst switched to Basic mode?

i think this is sadly one of the better ones, gonna try another 7plus?

ive attached a photo of my 7 at 100% brightness, auto brightness off

doesn't look as bad as it does in this white browser screen, more subtle in general

as far as 7 goes, its a keeper

just wondering if i should try my hand in 7+ and see if i like it more? now that 10.1 bokeh enabled beta is out, its tempting to try
