I have run into this before with apple products. I think it was the 5 I preordered had pretty obvious yellow spots that went away after about 5 days. Anyway, you can obviously see the difference in the pics I posted.
Yeah it's shocking the difference!!!

If reference to my screen becoming less yellow.

1st pic 2 days of ownership

2nd pic 5 days of ownership

Both compared to my 6 Plus with the 7 on the right. Not great pics but you can see what I am saying. I'm telling you, if you just got the phone give it at least a week and see if it changes.

Looks the same to me. Angle is different so maybe it looks a bit different but compared to the other phone def inferior. The panel will never look like the other one. This was how it was manufactured. Maybe it did get slightly better over the past week cause the pixels broke in or somethig but if so im not seeing it in the pics. And it wont ever match the tone of the other display.

This is very interesting!!!!! What could cause it to change in a week?

As my previous post state. I noticed mine is less warm and brighter too. Could it be true? Not sure it might just be my eyes adjusting, if not.

It will never match the 6s tone, we already know that the 7 is supposed to be warmer.

Well, I find nothing inferior about my 7 display. I have compared the two very closely and there is no distortion of text or fuzziness. The color temp is warmer but more accurate and I prefer it. The whites are more pure vs the bluish whites of my 6 Plus.

The only reason I took the pic at this angle was because of reflection using a Samsung Galaxy tab 10.5". Not too hot of a camera. I'm very happy with my display. The 7 does have a glass screen protector on which affects the pic resolution a bit but not the color.

Got my new device and the screen is still warm but definitely not as yellow. Gonna keep this one. Left is my new one.

I am in the same situation. My 2nd iPhone 7 Plus is less warm. Glad I did look on istocknow for it !

This is my iPhone 5S (left) compared to my iPhone 7 (right). Both at maximum brightness and auto brightness off. Picture taken with my D500 in RAW format. A WhiBal gray card is included to set the appropriate white balance in Lightroom. I measured both screens with my ColorMunki Photo and Argyll. The result was 7686K for iPhone 5 vs 6945K for iPhone 7, both higher than the expected D75 and D65 calibrations.

Next I tried to increase the color temperature of the iPhone 7 to match the iPhone 5S using the color tint correction. I managed to get 7607K with this setting

And this is what the corrected iPhone 7 looks vs the iPhone 5C. Not much of a difference compared to the uncorrected one.

I guess you have misunderstood the hole point about those screen. Your iPhone 7 at 6900K has a more accurate display than your 5 at 7600K.
You should read the test on Display Mate on this matter.

Here are two shots of my two iPhone 7 Plus side by side. As you may see (on a properly calibrated display or at least one not too bad :) ), there is a tiny difference. But as tiny as it may look on these pics, I can tell which one is which.

Returning the one on the right as you may have guessed :)

Sounds like you should stick with it then and thats great. The problem i have is people trying to perpetuate this glue myth that never seems to die. So yes if you like your display and think its a bit better excellent, but dont convince people to wait out their return period on somehing that has been proven time and time and time again to be false.

You also need to consider that there is no proof that the glue myth is not true. Who knows? You can't rule out possibilities unless you can prove it so.

They both look really good, but yes; the left one is the best.

I would be happy with the right one though :)

Well, I was on here telling everyone to accept the non uniform screens. However, my screen is really bugging me. It's especially bugging me because of how expensive this phone was. Over 900 UK pounds. My wife spent less on her laptop.

I don't want to deal with the display lottery. So, I just ordered two more phones. Will take forever to get here.

I'll have to return this one first. But I can go back to my 6 for a few weeks.

I don't know. Maybe I'll just stop buying iPhones. I wonder if Samsung is any better?

This is my 7. It was a white box replacement yesterday and I'm going back n Saturday for one more try.
I actually find the new screen quite jarring when moving from my iPad Air 2 to my iPhone 7.

you can use screenshot-mode (block + home button), there are not need to phote on to another camera

No, I didn't. I was just trying to show that you can use the tint adjustment to change the color temperature to match the old displays. I prefer the new D65 calibration. And I did read the Display Mate article.

No, that wont get a shot of the actual phone screen, just the output from the graphics chip.

But photos of displays are subject to a lot of significant variables, starting with the camera's WB and the calibration of both the photographer's and the viewer's display.

My ip7 display is less yellowish than the ones on display at Apple. When I first got it on release day it was the same as those.

Question, their iPhones are on all day and mine obviously is not. So how does one account for the difference now?

Both those screens look fantastic !

I exchanged a c7 and got a f4g and it's better.

Serial numbers don't mean anything in these cases imo

This seems to unfortunately be the case. Looks like there are uniformity issues with these new displays. Hopefully they will iron this out before next year.

Which serial numbers letters does your start with?

Is anyone having difficulty with inaccurate colors from the camera like foliage, etc?
I'm not just having a 'warm display' issue - it's translating to the camera also. (Viewing on 4k iMac).

Example. Chest of drawers. iPhone 7+ on left, iPhone 6+ on right. 6+ is accurate.
Grass/leaves are overly green. Concrete is off, etc.

Tint and color temp are two different settings. Adding a tint changes all the colors. For example, blue and red in light transform into another color. Adding blue here changes all your iphones color.
Temp does not change a color to another on small differences like we have here.

Both those screens look fantastic !
Yes but the first one looked way more warm than those in Apple Store... that's what convinced me to change it, plus the fact my eyes couldn't get used to this strange tint.

I went to our local apple store to compare my phone with those there. I looked at 6-8 phones. 1 was about the same as mine. I think the rest were better. So, I'm definitely returning, and trying again.

I'd say 2 of the phones I looked at were perfect.

I can wait longer to get a phone I'm happier with.

Good luck with the lottery. I hope it doesn't take you 5-10 exchanges to be happy.

Just curious: if the consensus is that serial numbers don't necessarily have anything to do with display quality, are there many here with a C6 or C76 who have no screen issues?

I have the former which I'm replacing with the latter. Areas of yellow on my C6.

F2L for the left and F2M for the right one.

Interesting. Mine is an F2L and looks very similar to your F2L. Screen seems fine, but really it's far too cool and blue. I'm sure most in this thread would lust after this screen, but it's really not right. The warmer ones are more accurate.
