I wasn't so sure about the "glue drying" theory myself, but then an interesting thing happened.

I got my 7 Plus on Thursday and was instantly stunned by how yellow it was. It was ridiculous compared to my 6s Plus, and it was also much dimmer. I wasn't sure I'd be able to keep my 7 Plus.

Last night, I'm sitting on my couch looking at my phone and my eyes start to water. I look away and everything is blurry, I look back to my phone and I realize... holy cow, this is bright! I also compared it to some other screens and sure enough, it had a cooler tone to it compared to the previous day.

Yes, my brightness has always been set to max, no auto brightness. I don't expect that my 7 Plus will be able to match the coolness of my old 6s Plus, but it's already much better and honestly- completely fine by me. So who knows- give your phone a few days.

Interesting. Mine is an F2L and looks very similar to your F2L. Screen seems fine, but really it's far too cool and blue. I'm sure most in this thread would lust after this screen, but it's really not right. The warmer ones are more accurate.

Careful, you are going to start a riot here. ;)

Look if this is glue problem or defect I'm sure Apple would be saying some thing now.

So the fact Apple is not saying some thing tells me it cannot be glue problem or defect.

Any one know if fixing the color temperature in settings effects battery life or other colors? I had read that changing the color to be more "white" effects other colors on the phone.

Any proof in this.

If it was really glue applecare support would tell us all to just wait for a bit, they don't, they swap.

The yellow screen "issue" has presented itself for at least the past five years if not longer. Apple hasn't said anything about before and likely never will. Most people don't notice or don't care, so they really don't need to say anything.

Well, by nature, changing the color temperature of the display does indeed change every single color. You're not just changing one single color, you're changing the way that all the colors relate to each other. (Not sure if that's the best way to describe it, but there it is).

Now, does it affect battery life? No clue, but I wouldn't think so.

No one knows if the glue problem is true or not, but you act as if everyone is complaining about this issue. Probably only the ones posting in forums are the one caring for this issue. Why should Apple bother with OCD issues? They have a solution for that, they let you keep exchanging the phone until you are satisfied or rerun it within the 14 days period. The majority of iPhone consumers could careless of this minor issue.

I was going to change it but not sure if it's worth it. It's only a smidge different than my friends. But than again my 6s plus was always warmer than his.

Tint and color temp are two different settings. Adding a tint changes all the colors. For example, blue and red in light transform into another color. Adding blue here changes all your iphones color.
Temp does not change a color to another on small differences like we have here.
White balance corrections do change all the colors a little or a lot depending on how far the neutral is from neutral. The most basic WB corrections simply amplify the reds or the blues.

Compared to display models and 6/6s my 7plus is a tad warmer and dimmer. Why is it dimmer?? All settings are the same.

The 7+ is definitely warmer than my 6s+ however, in certain cases, the 7+ have deeper colors. So I don't care at this point as long as my screen doesn't have any bleeding.

I was content with my display over the passed few days until going into an Apple store today and comparing it to the first iPhone 7 I saw and it was night and day. Mine was so yellow compared to the display model.
I'm still within my 14 days but used a few gift cards to pay for some of the phone so I'm stuck in a bit of a bind.
The genius bar is always annoying with yellow screens. They go out of their way to make sure to prove you wrong. But it was clear as day with the display models. Not really sure what to do at this point.

Finally got pictures with my third iPhone Plus replacement. Mine is dimmer and a bit more yellow compared to the display. Mines he black one. I know the lighting is bad in it, but mine is definitely dimmer.

So, my 7 plus was yellower towards the bottom. Not horrible, but enough to annoy me. I used the phone for a 2 hour skype call today and then nothing till this evening. Looking at the screen it struck me that the yellow seemed mostly gone. I opened up the test images and was having a hard time even noticing the uniformity issue.

In disbelief I did some internet searches online. There are quiet a few people around posting on different forums around the internet with various different phones and tablets who are saying that their screens got better with time. Multiple people are saying they let their phone play videos all night on full brightness and the uniformity issues improved a lot.

That seems somewhat consistent with what happened after my long skype call. Anyway, I don't quiet belief my eyes tonight. But last night the screen was annoying me with obvious yellowness at the bottom. Tonight I'm having to look really hard to see the problem. In fact, I'd now say my screen is good enough.

I'm going to play a youtube aquarium video all night at full brightness. We'll see.

I noticed a few people on this forum saying their yellowness issues improved with time. A lot of people say that. So, I suspect there is something to it. Whether it's glue is not known.

I think that those with this issue, as there is a 2 week return time, should wait a week. Try playing videos over night on the screen. See what happens. I'd be curious for others to report back on the outcome of these experiments. I'll report back in the morning myself.
