I have got my new replacement iPhone 7 yesterday, the phone still have tint on the left than the right side.

It's not as bad, but the top left is now having a bit of Pink tint instead.... WTF?

It really makes me wonder how come no news site beside the Chinese news site are reporting such issue. Feels like major media purposely left out these disaster.

Apple display has been a major issue for me since the latest Retina Macbook Pro, then uneven backlit on iPhone 6....etc

Makes me wonder who are these 3rd party supplier that supplies all these crap display, and how did it even pass Apple's Quality Control.... Are they even trying?

PS: I am seeing more 7+ are having much better display than 7, not sure why that is. Different supplier?

View attachment 662618 Deleted prior post. Another poster indicated that phone on left was 6S due to gray/silver side.

Compare that photo to the one below. It shows my wife's Gold 256GB 7 Plus on the left and my returned Black 256GB 7 Plus on the right. Both are F2, Week 38 units. I ordered mine from Apple and my wife from AT&T but both are on the same network. By the way, my wife's does not have the static/crackling noise and mine has it.

Not every complaint about a yellowish display on an iPhone 7 can be dismissed because the user is comparing the relatively warm display on the iPhone 7 with the relatively bluish one of the iPhone 6s.

Your fine, just don't put it next to 6s on that screen lol. I've compared mine to 7 other 7/7+ phones. All the same. I swear my whites or white balance has gotten cleaner after having it for 12 days now, could be placebo or now used to the new display coming from my 6s.

In any even I'm enjoying the screen and colors, I'm used to the warmer screen now & the wider color gamut is awesome.

Im pretty picky so if it's not bothering me that's saying something haha. Phone meets my expectations and would hate to exchange it only to possibly actually get a really crappy screen or another flaw on the phone by bad luck. Beggars can't be choosers I suppose.

In other good news with this whole yellow gate. The camera is freaking awesome, especially in low light.

I put it next to my 6S and it's definitely warmer than 6S but in a good way :)

Hi guys, been reading this thread from the beginning. Just want to say my 2 cents.
I'm from Italy and I've got my iPhone 7 just two weeks ago (September 21).
When I went to the Apple Store I compared my iPhone 4 with a couple of iPhone 7/7+, and the screen doesn't looks so bad at all! The screens were all even and pretty bright too.
Also I asked to a guy who works there, because I was afraid that I could get a bad screen iPhone, and he really knows nothing about this issue.
So I get my iPhone 7 128 gb matte black and... couldn't be more happy with that!
Screen is a little warmer but looks awesome!! Really nice colours!
Also on some Italian forums, nobody talks about any uneven tint or something like that, just some thread about the warmer tone of the screen.
Maybe this issue it's only related to some factory who builds iPhones for the United States?

So, in conclusion I just wanna say (and yeah, I know this has been wrote about 50 times on this thread, bla bla bla...): unless your screen have an uneven tint, or looks dimmer than others, you just get a good screen! Enjoy your iPhone!
If you can't get used with the warmer tone, adjust it with the filters or return/sell your iPhone 7 and wait a year to get iPhone 7S or 8.

Here is a pic of my iPhone 7, and a comparison with my old iPhone 4 (who looks awfully blue here, but I swear it's not like that, it'all my mom's crappy tablet fault lol)
As you can see the tint is even and there is no yellow piss at all

So Apple delayed my replacement; no delivery tomorrow; but next week. Sigh.

Also; the replacement phone comes from the same factory (DNP, Chengdu) so not hopeful here. It's a week 40 model though.

I have a iPhone 7+ and I have noticed the screen is considerably warmer than my iPhone 6. However what is most concerning is that under certain light conditions (mainly outside but sometimes inside) there is a slight green/aquamarine tint to the whole display. Has anyone else had this? It's not annoying most of the time but then sometimes it looks really bad and gets on my nerves. Only have a couple of days to take it back to exchange it for a brand new version (14 days here in the UK) so have to make a decision soon I think.

No reason for him not to know. The fact is they are all like that. I've gone through 4. Weeks apart too. Plus and regular. He won't get better. And you can only see it in the right light.
some times I try to ignore it and maybe it works......but sometimes I don't know why the uneven is quite obvious and makes me frustrated again! I really don't know whether I should go to the Apple Store.....sign

Got my iPhone 7 plus yeastrerday, and it is yellower and noticibly dimmer than my 6s plus. It also makes a hissing/static noise even under light load. I am getting it replaced today at Apple and will test the new one before I leave to make sure it is better.

This is the first time I have got a bad iphone EVER... and I was a day one user.

I'm seeing some of this on my replacement 7 Plus. It was not very obvious in the store when I got the replacement, but the more I use it the more I see it. It's a shame that these are so inconsistent.

My screen is awful this time. It goes from a bluish/greenish hue at the top to a muddy yellow at the bottom.

Besides that, it also has those annoying machining marks on the bezel.

Do Apple have any in stock for replacements, or am I going to have to call it in?

I have a JB+ 128GB.

I played the display lottery before and lost even on replacements, but this screen is unbelievably horrible!

*Edit*

I just looked up my serial number, and it's a week 40 - THIS week. perhaps the screen hasn't cured yet, and thats why my screen is so bad?

I wonder this too. Given I went through 4 iPhones over 3 weeks and all have non uniform tint I can only surmise that this is a wide spread problem. However either it's a conspiracy or no one cares.

Start submitting to tech blogs to get the issue out there!

Mine is the same, got it today. Makes a noise only if you put your ear on logo. and its white and dimmer. Do you think i should go to apple?

I believe everyone with yellow-gate are actually enjoying the iPhone's so-called missing feature...."true tone"....you should enjoy this rare occurrence of a free special feature given by apple ....

On the right is my new iPhone 7 after replacement.
It is much better.

  • Factory: F17

  • Year: 2016

  • Week: 38 (19.09 - 25.09)

  • Age: Infant

Wow. Id take the one on the right all DAY! Congrats on finding a nice one.

The one on the right has a higher color temp and is tinted blue. The one on the left looks more accurate.

James

Lol you can have it. Its just not better. Look at the settings battery icon in the lower left of the screens. On the left phone its washed out and has a layer of yellow. Its just not accurate at all. Screenshot the settings screen and put it on a calibrated monitor. I promise itll look like the right hand phone. Its how its supposed to look.

@evorc Heres your blue 7

Good luck finding one while looking like a fool constantly exchanging/returning the phone just to get a 'blue' inaccurate screen you want.

The one on the right looks like the good 7 screens I've seen. Put it side by side to a 6s and let's see if it's really as blue. Camera and lightning is a factor as well.

I'm done with you. You seriously need help, it's just a phone. Good luck finding that blue screen.

Lol wow man. Call it what you want the one on the right is the screen i want. If its blue or not blue or accurate or whatever it doesnt matter. If youve seen a lot like that then good i wont be searching long. The three i got looked like the left phone. So if you got a phone like the right phone we agree on what the good phones look like. Stop being so combative.

I have been using the term blue, but thats only because the settings screen is supposed to look blue/white. This has also caused a lot of "professionals" to jump in and say blue tint is not accurate. So fine whatever, lets not call it blue tint. I want accurate. The settings screen is blueish/grayish/white. I want my phone to accurately display those colors, not give me something that looks like its shining through a yellow filter.
