This turns it in as well, and gives quite a credit for it. So it works and very similar fashion and saves me half the monthly payment

In fact, he gave me $640 and treating credit. I just checked
This would be the way to go if it works out as stated. I would hate to be in a situation where I would have the citizen one Apple iPhone program remaining balance on top of new new incurred phone on the card.

T-Mobile rep on FB Messenger told me they are aware of a problem and working on a fix.. Not sure how promising that is..

I just completed a trade-in of my 12PM to a 13PM and I am on a T-mobile senior 55 and over, non-magenta plan. Everything went through as expected and I got the pre-pre-order email from Apple showing T-mobile as my carrier. Nothing showed anything about getting the $200 credit so I will contact Apple sometime today to confirm that part but otherwise it looks good.

This was the answer I gotView attachment 1831894
Well, that's a pile of BS.

I'm on the Magenta Max Military plan and pre-ordering setup for IUP went through fine for me.

I also turned on the 'takeover protection' after their latest security breach.

Interestingly enough, I also froze all of my credit reporting bureau accounts. I only thought about it after I finished the pre-order process. I would've figured that it would've not gone through, but it did just fine.

I'm really surprised too, as it seems like every time I upgrade my iPhone it's a hassle. If I remember correctly, last year, I ended up having to get issued a new SIM from Apple cuz the process went so wrong.

All the carriers are doing this. You need to have the more expensive unlimited plans to take advantage of the deals. For example, my Verizon plan has a discounted rate from awhile ago with unlimited data. Doesnt seem like it will work and will require an extra $15 a month for it.
Yea !
I left att grandfathered unlimited plan $110 to att prepaid $32 ; 9 months ago

Maybe people need to log into their T-mobile account and look at the account settings and plan they are on because time and time again users on T-Mobile keep responding with the same error 'account type is not supported'. Somewhere on their account there must be somewhere where it states the account type. Is it an old employee discount type or a public employee account type or a military account type. The fact being the error the majority of people are getting states 'account type not available' means there has to be a common denominator here.

Some people have said they got a certain account plan and everything has gone through, others have said they have gone through as an 'individual account' and it's gone through, another said they had their account changed from employee to individual and it went through, so I think people need to look closely at their t-Mobile account page to see what account type it says because if the upgrade system was faulty EVERYONE, regardless of account type would have the error, the fact that some say it's working for them implies the upgrade system is working.

Also, some mentioned that there was a data breach. Could it be that to protect T-Mobile customers, those that were affected had their account type changed and this is causing the problem?. Just because some said they were not affected does not mean they weren't. They could have recieved information from t-Mobile and dissmissed it without understanding what it was they recieved.

Did anyone figure this out? I was with T-Mobile twitter help, Apple support, and T-Moble care last night. I cannot get into the IUP. I do have the older Simple Choice plan; personal, but why would that be the issue? No one knows why it isn't working.

Do you have any government discounts? I was advised that is the problem

Based on some other searches, I think this may be related to having a SIM change lock on your account...Sure enough, if I log in to my account at T-mobile and go to the "Change SIM" link, both of my lines show up on the following page -- but I can not select either one of them to initiate a SIM change. Can anyone else that is having this issue verify thats the same?

this would be my third time upgrading through the program, with my employee account. I've never had any issues the prior two times now all of a sudden my account isn't eligible?!!?!?

Supposedly discounts (government & employee) aren’t supported by Apple from what I was told

This doesn't make much sense.. I do have a government employee discount (which only ends up applying to my add-ons) -- but the past two phones I've purchased from apple.com in the same fashion, and did not experience this issue. The last time I purchased a 12 Pro back in March of this year, with T-mobile activation, trade-in, and pay in full -- no issue at all. If thats the case, then something changed.

I’m having the same issue. I really think it’s just a communication glitch between Apple and T-Mobile. I’ve been a part of the IUP since it’s inception and never had an issue. The sad part is T-Mobile reps are clueless. Whether they figure it out by Friday is anybody’s guess.

I’ve never had the issue either after multiple iUP years. I’m still working with T-Mobile on Twitter, but they said “government mode” needs to be taken off the account. Don’t know who change the protocols but it’s very poorly thought out

What's the definition of "employee account"? We opened our TM account using the discount program of my employer, but my employer is not paying the bill. I've also never had any issues with IUP. We've been using IUP the last 4 years.

Back the next day. Have you clever people figured this out yet?
Sucks I'm going to use the IUP for the first time and it's not working.

I’m having a different issue. “We’re sorry. We can’t find your account information with T-Mobile.” I’m on a Tmobile One plan with my mom (Senior) and I’m putting in her social security number but still getting an error. What gives?

Using the T-Mobile website...log in to your account and go to "Line details" for your phone number. Try to check the "Check device unlock status". When I click that link it goes to a page that says my device cannot be found in their system, showing my phone number and IMEI. Super weird...

I have not poured over this thread. Any consensus to what might be the problem? Any reason it's due to the security breech that T-Mobile suffered recently?
