Mine almost never does. Are you keeping the app on the Watch and your iPhone open? Perhaps that is why I don't see it updating because my other news app that has glances (NY Times) does not need the app open to update the glance.
I have yet to find five third-party apps that I like... but I do have two that I like:
1) Twitterrific (to reply to tweets) and
2) Deliveries (for package tracking).
I've tried a lot of others and either the lag time is awful or they just don't work (I'm talking to you, Tides Watch and Strava!).
I find I mostly just use the watch to tell time and get notifications. I occasionally reply to a text or listen to a voicemail. But I'm mostly dismissing notifications from Mail, Twitter, and Instagram.
I'm actually glad there isn't a Facebook app; I think that would get annoying real fast.
1. Fantastical 2
2. Things
3. Dark Sky (because i live in scotland)
4. Momentum (because establishing habits is hard)
5. Sky Guide (because space)
Am I missing something here? The Gmail app does not yet support Apple watch. Why are people listing it as one of their top 5?
Huh? They aren't Watch apps?![]()
Workflow. It runs scripts you can make -
- play Playlists
- record a sound note to Dropbox
- Dial my wife
- order an Uber etc
The Glance is wacky, but being able to scroll using the Crown is awesome. I have my favourite playlists/albums/songs there, must faster to get to.
With a few taps I can play The Imperial March as I go up the stairs, and my 7 year old squeals herself silly that Darth Vader is coming.
Coming Light
Photography is my zen zone cool out, vital to maintaining productivity. This superb app alerts me to Magic/Golden/Blue Hour nuances, no matter where I am. Alerts are configurable by date! Overall, a dream come true. (Never could get exactly what I wanted on the Pebble.)
Looks like it's unfortunately the same on WatchOS 2 ;-( The logic can run directly on the watch but no native animations. Sigh.Developers have very little flexibility when it comes to apps...(edited) If I wanted animation I'd need to render it frame by frame and send it over to the watch, it's archaic! messy and not worth my time. When the native SDK comes along expect much better things.
Lumy is much cleaner and I think more useful. Really like its NC widget on iPhone and clean Glance on watch.I just got Coming Light too, and it's pretty helpful. When I found it, I saw another golden hour app called Lumy, has anyone tried it and compared it to Coming Light? If so, which do you like better?
Thanks! I might just purchase it.Lumy is much cleaner and I think more useful. Really like its NC widget on iPhone and clean Glance on watch.
Wasn't able to install Coming Light on watch (iOS 9b1 & wOS 2b1) so my feedback is iPhone comparison and looking at the screenshots of the Glances from App Store.
Here are some pics from Lumy...
