Have I come to the right place? Have those who have not experienced the clarity and the light of the One True Headset been cast from the most holy Space Donut and gathered in the vast deserts?

There, the scripture of Jobs writes, great fires shall be built, and self-driving Apple Cars will shepherd the skeptics and the non-believers into the pits of flame!

But, we must remember, ours is a just and forgiving God. On the precipice of their doom, Siri shall beckon: Would you like to make an appointment at your local Apple Store to Experience Apple Vision Pro with an Apple Specialist? You'll need just 30 minutes! ... those who answer yes, fully of heart and soul, will have their sins forgiven and well be welcomed back to love and serve the logo of Apple.

Amen.

"May the lord be with you"

"and also with you"

You really need to spend some time reading old posts about the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, they all mirror the AVP in levels of hate, and complaining, it is not a false point.

I don’t care about old posts. They aren’t relevant. I lived through it from inside the industry. The idea you’re pushing is BS. Perhaps you got it from reading old posts here? That was a mistake.

There are lots more where that came from.

It wasn't so long ago I heard that people should be healthier with less socialmedia and on-line time.
Forget it!

Buy a Vision Pro, and you can probably sleep with it on so you can direct your dreams too.
Next Apple device, make a brain implant - thank you Tim.

You’re out of date, friend.

Phase one: “You don’t know anything about it! Read up!”

Phase two: “You can’t have an opinion on it until you’ve done the in store demo! You don’t know anything about the device!”

Phase three: “No one who hasn’t used this at home for a few hours has a valuable opinion. The demo isn’t enough to get to the ‘ah-ha!’ moment! You don’t know anything about the device!”

Phase four: “If you don’t like it you’re probably just poor, envious, haven’t spent all day in one, know absolutely nothing about it and are likely a terrorist.”

And before anyone suggests I’m engaged in hype, every single one of those arguments has been deployed against me and others here after making rabidly anti Vision comments like “it’s heavy” and “it’s isolating.”

Hopefully Insta360 and / or GoPro puts out an app that allows AVP owners to view 360° content. I guess it would have to be wirelessly sent to the headset since no USB-C connector or microsd card slot exists.

I am also interested to see if any 3rd party camera manufacturers come out with a camera that shoots in apple's new VR format?

No rush

It's an absolutely tiny addressable market for the foreseeable future
pretty much that.
Right now Apple vision pro is not worth the millions (yes millions) it would cost Google to develop it and everything. Hence zero priority to do so. Even checking that box to enable iPad version would cost them a huge chunk of money and not worth it to them and they would rather do it right any how.
it is farther down and far enough back that they can wait and see.

I bet they are already writing code ...

Thank goodness. It’s not as nice using it on the web in Vision Pro and i didn’t buy the one in the store in case its’ not around that long.

AKA ‘YouTube has been developing a VisionOS app for a while now and after the oil settles on the launch, we’ll roll it out and remind you to sub to YouTube Premium’.

Take their time. More money for the developer of Apollo in the meantime.

I bet that Timmy and his applets are already working on:

AppleTube, you heard it here!
Ouch, that will hurt YouTube.

They, Apple, will offer different programs that you can run while you sleep with VP. That will make you 'more' intelligent and 'buy more Apple devices'. Ah, well you get the point.

It's got what plants crave!

100% disagreement. The smartphone solved a problem of converging a computer/web browser, phone, and camera, and it did so very elegantly. As soon as it came out, almost everyone that could afford it, got it.
I understand why you are skeptical, but honestly I can draw parallelism between the original iPhone and the Vision Pro using my experience using it daily. As you mentioned, the first iPhone brought things that were only possible on a computer, camera and mp3 players on a phone. The first Vision Pro removed the screen boundaries of our phone, computer and TVs and help experience things at a scale that connect us to real life. The iPhone multi touch was magical. Navigating with your eyes and fingers is equally magical.

Just to give you concrete examples, the Apple Vision Pro helped me:
  • Experience memories like I was there.
  • Gave me the experience of a $100k movie theater room without actually building one
  • For work, I was able to add or remove the equivalent of large 4k monitors around me based on my needs of the moment.
  • To relax, I could just seat in the middle of a lake without buying a flight ticket
  • If I want to watch a 3D movie on Disney+, it's the best 3D TV I have ever experience, not even close.
Yes, just like any V1 products, it's not perfect (extended comfort, battery life, apps etc...). But for what it does, it's an amazing v1. Just like

Lastly, Apple sold 270,000 iPhone in the first 2 days (similar number were reported for Vision Pro). What's impressive, is the only device we can compare the vision pro to is the iPhone.

The YouTube developer team has to wait until they could save up enough quarters to buy a Vision Pro for development, I think they finally have enough, they were stretched thin there for a while. :p
