YouTube Says iOS Picture-in-Picture Coming to All US Users

Premium user in the US here. I’ve been checking every day and haven’t seen PiP yet. iOS 14.6 on my iPhone and iPadOS 15 beta on iPad.
And that's what the concern with how YT is enabling PiP. It could be taken aware at any moment...
Lying in bed next to my wife: both on latest version of YT; she has Pip, I don’t. Why is Google allowed to do stupid ish like this?

This is getting ridiculous. I don’t understand why this even needs to be “rolled out”…it’s native to the OS!
I’m about to dump premium. I still do not have it. I’ve cancelled every other service by Google. I cannot stand them as a company.
How about “Owner of the YouTube Premium Family Account” first?

Have the option already, but it wasn’t working properly. So I subscribed to premium and works now!
I messaged YouTube support and they said that it should be working. They created a case and are working on it.

I did the same thing. They told me to uninstall and re-install the app. restart the phone, turn on all notifications. Basically they can't get their **** to work and I Pay for premium? Honestly, bout to cancel as this is such a simple ask, and they are so late to the table with it.
They emailed me back suggesting some troubleshooting steps. Reinstalling the app, etc. Duh. Stuff I have already tried multiple times myself.

It randomly started working for me. I’ve been manually updating YouTube to get the version ASAP. But it seems like they enable it from their servers cuz I still had the same version but PiP appeared while I was still using the app.
But how do you do it? Is there a button that makes the video pop out like in the web version?

PiP triggers way better than YouTube Safari since it is automatic.
you just close the app, or switch to another app and the video will automatically turn into PiP. The PiP window reverts back to normal viewing mode when you return to the YouTube app. There’s no buttons to press like on Safari
You get a toggle on YouTube’s settings for PiP. It is on by default.
