I ordered my orange one from gong wie on the 12th so I should be getting mine this week then :) I'm really looking forward to it. Glad I didn't pay near $70 dollars for one a month earlier.

thanks for the detailed pics ako, the seller you got it from has better quality ones. You don't get much left from digitalmall09 and the headphone thing was two factors that bothered me. I just ordered a blue one from him, for 10 bucks you can't go wrong.

What do you mean by this? I ordered from him.

Thanks for the pictures and detailed comparison ako!

Mine came in today from seller gong-wei. I've yet to open them, though.

is there a consensus on which is the best ebay seller to buy from? i'm obviously looking for the best quality OEM.

gong-wei looks like the way to go, i haven't got my blue one yet but his looks top quality. the other ones i ordered not so much.

They do look great..

I opened up the packaging of the green one to check out the fit and form. Definitely different from my genuine black bumper. While the looks are quite spot-on, the feel is much different (but not in a bad way!!). The lip edges of the ebay bumper is much more rigid than the genuine bumper, as it must be made of a different sort of plastic or TPU. The middle backbone section also has a much tougher feel to it.

The ebay bumper is actually tighter fitting than the genuine one. I prefer this since my genuine bumper was loose fitting (see threads about people boiling it).

The ebay bumper buttons have a different feel. They have a plastic backing on them (on the inside of the bumper), so in comparison to the genuine bumper, they rattle much less when the phone vibrates. I prefer this, as it feels less junky. As previously indicated, they also look like they have a different matte metallic finish. I like it! All buttons work as they should. No problems there.

Now, the kicker... I'm running a SGP Oleophobic on the front of my iPhone and a PhantomSkinz matte on the back. The genuine bumper never made either of the skins bubble up. The ebay bumper, due to the increased rigidity and possibly the different material used for the lip edges made the Phantomskinz bubble up considerably at the edges, and started to make the SGP Oleo bubble up in one spot. Big downside for me.

I opened the orange and blue bumpers and it's the same situation.

That being said, I probably wont keep these. If you want all three, you can have mine for $25.

That's a bit disappointing to hear, I ordered the pink one and I have the exact same front/back protection setup as you. The Scosche BandEdge I have now doesn't bubble them at all, it'll be too bad if I have the same experience as you with the eBay one.

Definitely let me know how it goes. The bubbles didn't happen right off the bat. It took some gripping and moving about to make the back one peel up. It probably didn't help that I tried installing/removing all three bumpers.

Will you ship to the UK??
Sure. You pay shipping.

got the orange, i actually really liked it but like someone else discovered it was peeling my phantomskinz back
i also have sgp side protection so its very difficult to remove becuase its a lot more rigid than the standard app black one
so for the price its a great product, i wish i could use it but its way to snug for my current setup, i might just remove the side protection just so i can use it

just bought the black one from gong-wei. i think i'm developing an addiction to iphone cases.

by the way, anyone know if these ebay bumpers have been scratching their phones? i heard this was happening with the original ones.

why a bumper?

Hey all - I know this is going to come across as trollish and antagonizing, but it's not meant to be: it's a serious question -

Why all the demand for the bumper? I got one as part of the free iphone case program and found it to be loose fitting, providing little to no protection (yes I know it's primary function appears to be the death grip deal, but still), and generally speaking it makes the phone look like the phone itself is a chinese knockoff of some kind...

I'm just curious what the fascination is - there's a bajillion and a half different cases out there that seem to do more, give more bang for the buck, and look less junky (the body glove vibe slide comes to mind)...

So why does everyone want a bumper?

My apologies again if this comes across antagonistic, I just really want to understand...maybe I'm missing something and will feel a need to pull my bumper back out of the drawer it's been in for the last month or so...

I got my white one yesterday from DigitalMall (I believe...) and I've already gone back to my Commuter. I didn't really like the look of the white on black as much as a I thought I would, and it wasn't really "white" (more of a yellowish color). I have a PS on and it didn't bubble up. As everyone else has said though, it was a really good fit and the buttons didn't rattle like the ones on my bumper from Apple.

In response to Big, I like the bumper cause I just like the look of it. I like the way they implemented the buttons and sort of made it look like it was part of the phone. That being said, like you I don't believe it offers enough protection (althoughI did drop my phone twice with the bumper on and each time it landed on a corner, so it did actually protect it). I saw pictures of the white bumper on a black phone and thought I liked it so I decided to get one of these but as I stated above I really didn't like the look of it.

I like the feel of the glass back of the phone, but still wanted some drop protection. Plus the apple bumper's integrated buttons are really nice.

i like the look of the phone and don't like covering it up. with every case i bought i go back to the bumper. mine feels great and tight due to vinyl on the antenna. All in all it comes down to what people like and i think the bumper looks perfect on the phone.

can you please post a picture?

So I got my green bumper from gong-wei today, and it is definitely not as good of quality as the $15 one I posted about earlier in this thread. It's thicker, and thus won't fit in my ProClip bumper mount. The buttons seem closer to the Apple bumper, but the material has a harder and more plastic than rubber feel to them than my blue one does.

I received my orange bumper yesterday and I am 100% happy with it. It takes a bit more doing to get it on without lifting your screen protection but the look, feel, quality is worth every cent of the $10 I paid to have it shipped to me. Simply take a stiff paper product, typically some kind of packing material (much like the cardboard with the packaging) and run it under the lip around the phone and the screen protector will sit back down nicely.

Well worth the price IMHO :D

FYI to anyone that hasn't heard yet:

Apple Stores are stocking ALL colors of the bumpers now. Call your local Apple Store to verify the stock of the particular color you want.

Still unavailable on the online Apple Store.
