Are you referring to the Home Screen springboard???

If so...then no you can not change anything on the springboard other then still moving the apps around. If not, please clarify...thank you.

Thank You for the compliment!

Yes that it was I was referring to. The Springboard..........

Thanks again and I have this thread marked! Great information.

I just wish they would give me access and quit being so tight.
I wouldn't call not allowing development on the PC being tight. Rather: best use of resources. Porting their development tools to Windows would be a huge undertaking and I think they have enough on their books currently. In fact, more than enough.

Your are right...just a little frustrated right now. Apple is doing what they need to, I just wish I had access instead of relying on others.

I too wish you had access to it right now. Your thread by far is the most informative.

Maybe it is time to get an apple... just a small one to work on! :D:)

I would love to but I am still paying on my Alienware and my Wife's HP laptop.

Does anyone know how to convert a .dmg file on a PC into the .ipsw file that I need to upload???

Just waiting for my developer to send me the new update.
Why would you need to wait for 'your developer' to send it? Just go to the iPhone Dev Center website and download it. It doesn't take long to grab - I pulled it down in less than a minute!

edit: NM, I just saw that you're not a developer, don't have a Mac to develop on, and can't even access the site. Maybe you should leave the beta testing to actual devs ... ;) Anyway, good luck.

I have noticed a little better response in beta 2. But my GPS is still acting a little weird and my youtube still won't connect. Anybody else have that happen?

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I guess I did all that work for my health and "just for myself"

I guess me and my PC will continue to help and inform those that are interested and you can continue on your path.

Good Luck to you and I am now up and running with Beta 2 so will be updating my thread for everyone else that appreciates what I have done so far.

Have a great evening:)

That's odd. Both GPS and Youtube work fine here. I did an upgrade from 2.2.1, too - not a clean install.

Update Nf#34

Camera Roll now backs up and restores if you restore using your Back-UP. I had four pictures in my camera roll before I installed beta 2 3.0 upgrade. When I restored, I restored with back up and the 4 pictures were put back in my camera roll.

The Pan bug has also been fixed and when you enlarge a picture in your camera roll you can pan all over the place again.

This has been posted on the front page.

Thats it for tonight...see ya all tomorrow!

how about the attachment problem of mail app.?
3.0 can download/forward the attached mail?

Smart playlists are working again. Nefore they synced, but when you went to play it it said no much found. Now they are back!

I noticed in Safari you can now have a web page load in the background while on another web page.

Here is how I tested this:
1. Open a blank web page and type in a url (e.g. yahoo.com) and Press Go
2. Quickly Open a New Page and navigate to another url ( e.g. cnn.com)
3. Navigate back to the first web page and it will be completely loaded (if you gave it a reasonable amount of time)

Was this available in 2.2.1? I specifically remember this not working and that the web page previews or "cards" (haha) were simply dummy screenshots.

From Beta 2:

- Searching in Mail in landscape lays out differently now.
- Spotlight now displays a "No Results" message if it doesn't find anything.
- Safari text fields now show you where your cursor is and you can also copy and paste within them.
- Icons dim instantly when you tap them now.
- Safari: Landscape bookmarks now appear correctly.
- Safari: Hasn't gotten stuck on portrait for me yet.

The icons have changed once again:
wow1

I was just comparing the 2 screenshots and the iPod icon is sitting too high. The icon is 1 pixel higher than the rest of the icons. Look at it, you can see how it's misaligned with the rest.

Also, the stripes are smaller now and they're using the same slight shadow effect under the glyph. I hope they fix the alignment of the iPod icon... it's bugging me now.

any form of group messaging turns into a mass MMS message, even if its just text. Is this a bug?

To replicate:

1. open messages app
2. select new message
3. select 2 or more contacts
4. observe top bar change to "Group MMS"
5. Make some text entry.
6. send message
Result: non mms enabled phones can not receive the message. This proves that an MMS was sent.

New Update

Okay...April Fools Day is gone and I have updated a few of the bugs and we are getting very close to half way on new features. I figure there are at least 10 that are posted but I do not consider a new feature. I have also updated my bug finds and removed those that were fixed.

App Store: No longer need to tap to view screenshots of an app. Screenshots are shown in a inline, left-right page-scrolling view.

Posted as a New Feature on front page

Not sure what your are referring too if you could be a little more detailed and is this a new feature or a bug???

I really do not see this as a New Feature but may be considered one of those 10 I did not list.

11 pages of home screens now in beta 2 - give it a go

Listed as New Feature on page 1, post 1

The updates will be a little less frequent as I started college again this week and I am in the middle of Beta testing 3 different apps for 3 different developers using B2 3.0. Keep posting your finds and help me help others. Thank you all for your support and comments!!!

Here are the pictures: (2.2.1 on top; 3.0 on bottom)

God I am getting old...I see it now and it now shows the lap counter in the small numbers and the big ones maintain the full time. Thanks again, and I will update the front tomorrow.

This is something that can get annoying with Safari!

I could duplicate the results of your test on my 2.2 iPhone, however (at least as far as I could tell.) What would be really great is if "New Pages" stayed loaded (i.e., opening two websites and being able to switch between them without them needing to be reloaded after a little while of not being viewed.) This hasn't changed has it?

Best,
~Crandel

The other web pages seem to stay loaded. However, once in awhile I will switch web pages and it will reload. I'm sure its a memory allocation thing where after awhile pages are dropped from memory for other apps.
