Can everyone please post the exact resolution they are running when reporting if it's fixed/not fixed?

This is how:

% system_profiler SPDisplaysDataType | grep -C1 Resolution
S32D850:
Resolution: 5120 x 2880 (5K/UHD+)
UI Looks like: 2560 x 1440 @ 60.00Hz
Fixed in beta 5:
LG HDR 4K:
Resolution: 3840 x 2160 (2160p/4K UHD 1 - Ultra High Definition)
UI Looks like: 1920 x 1080 @ 60.00Hz

So, i've updated to MacOs Bigsur.
Dell 4k display in 2560x1440 mode
Tryed HiDPI mod but im not sure that it works.
Macbook always in closed lid mode and Radeon works in Opera browser.
Temeprature is about 62-65c

Tryed this command in terminal

% system_profiler SPDisplaysDataType | grep Resolution
and it shows:
Resolution: 5120 x 2880 (5K/UHD+ - Ultra High Definition Plus)

Main fact is that in closed lid Macbooks Radeon consumpt 7w (18w if you open browser and internet) without any hiDPI mods. And with hiDPI mod the same picture. Hope it works but id dont see

Sorry, but I don't really get it. Since you have a 4K monitor HiDPI should be supported by default in Big Sur and you don't need to run this script imo. And yes, your monitor runs in HiDPI-mode (5120x2880; UI looks like 2560x1440).

The HiDPI script fixes monitors that are not naturally supported for HiDPI in MacOS, which are usually monitors with a lower resolution. You normally should've had this window even before the HiDPI script, which means that your 4K monitor supports HiDPI by default:

You can also check this in your system report under displays: If there is a resolution (in my case 4096x2304) and UI looks like (in my case 2048x1152) then it runs in HiDPI mode.

It's clear by now that Apple's focus is on the upcoming 14" and 16" Apple Sillicon MacBooks. Intel MacBooks be ironed out Apple's mind.

I am disappointed at this. Still curious how the new 16" will compare to the intel 16" in terms of how many monitors you add connect.

My MBP is a work computer, so don't feel comfortable installing a macOS beta. Will stick with forced HiDPI mode for my 1440p monitor for now. I'd love to hear more results from people using 2560x1440p60 monitors.

Everyone, please use Feedback Assistant in Monterey Beta 6 and write about this. Also, please also submit feedback here. https://www.apple.com/feedback/
Finally, if possible please call Apple Support & escalate this issue to Senior advisors asking em to forward this feedback to the Engineering Department. What an absolute mess this has been!. It's simply unacceptable how Apple has treated us. There's at least 100s of us here on this thread with defective 16" MBP, and Apple cannot keep ignoring us.
They need to get our feedback like Harry Potter gets those letters from Hogwarts in the first film !

So the "fix" was not intentionally then. That's what I feared, Apple just doesn't care. Unbelievable...
Exactly. And that means, imo, no fix is EVER coming. Sorry, but I'm glad I gave up on the 2019 16" MBP getting fixed 8 months ago with a switch to M1 13" MBP...and it's been awesome. If you need Intel, I get it, but damn ...

Yup, that's just how it is. They didn't care about this issue for almost 2 years now and their current focus is clearly on Apple Silicon, so it seemed to good to be true right away. The "fix" was never intended and imo thus will not be in the final version of MacOS Monterey.

So if they clearly ignored some issues in the past what makes you think they will not ignore issues with the silicon machines? Which may pop up after some time? :)

Huh? Who said that they won't ignore issues regarding AS Macs in the future? I only said their focus is now on Apple Silicon and that's why a fix for the Intel 16" is very unlikely.
