2.0.2 Update?!

Apparently, this isn't the update to fix reception problems that everyone had hoped.

3g signal is as poor as usual and I still have the keyboard lag. Contacts seems quicker to scroll.

finally finished the download...took a while to update the firmware after the download on itunes. My impression is that contacts and sms are snappier but that happened on 2.0.1 and then got worse than before. No noticeable changes ie no copy/paste that i could find etc.

So after the update, I definetly have more bars in more places. The test will come tomorrow though when I go back into work. Then we will really see. As to what else is fixed, I don't know yet. Time will tell. I hope the SMS lag will be gone again, but for good this time....

Interesting - mine (v1 iPhone) is 241.9Mb. Extra baseband update for the 3G, perhaps?

Yeah confirmed 241.9Mb for v1 iPhone

246.3mb for my iPod Touch. Weird with all the different file sizes.

Man, my download is going at 600-700k a second constant. Only started it 6 minutes or so and it's done dling.

I'm also doing a back up, a 2 hour+ backup I've been putting off, and I was hoping the download was going as slow as you guys were saying so I wouldn't feel bad about my backup taking so long. So I was shocked when I went to see the download status to only find a minute left.

For me lag in SMS much better and virtually gone in contacts.

Never had any 3G issues (London UK) and my bars are exactly the same

I had to restore my iPhone last week - it took over 4 hours - Im not exaggerating either.

I've had 4 hour + backups as well, you're not alone

Since I got the phone I've seen the time to find me range from 1 second to 15. There's no real rhyme or reason to it.

I think you just got lucky today after being unlucky for awhile.

are definitely faster....its actually worth using. and contacts app is also working as it should. Well done Stevo and team.

Maps always seems to work (faster) after a reboot. It's subsequent tries where it throws up all over itself.

The one and only thing I hope this fixes (unless it was an iTunes 7.7.1 issue) was the issue with Apps not running.

Question, does it take almost 250MB on the phone also? If yes my phone will be full after a year of bug fixes lol
