Not only is it not any faster, there's a new bug.

It's happened twice. Scrolling between screens, the icons go into "shake" mode where they can be moved. It usually takes a second or so of holding down to make that happen.

that's how it's suppose to happen...hold an icon down for 2 seconds and it starts shaking...I scrolled through my pages numerous times right now...nothing happened...the only time it went to shake mode was when I held my figure on an icon for 2 seconds, which like I said should happen

That's what's supposed to happen when you hold your finger down on an icon for a few seconds.

She is pretty scary as it is haha, I just grab a crazy celebrity off of wwtdd.com VERY funny site. ;)

Anyways how's the update going for you? (to stay on topic)

aye its going well, noticed less lag and everything seems to be going fine, cant wait for the 2.1 release though get some push for my rrs feeds and IM. hows it going for you?

That is probably cause it indexes the contacts to allow for search-as-you-type. That's the only reason I can think of as why a simple app such as a list of contacts is lagging. They should just index upon boot or when a new contact is added/deleted.

the more i think about it, i think a 1 sec lag might be normal. when you switch to phone mode to view contacts it takes about the same amount of time.

No problems what so ever, in fact I had noticeable fixes.

I was having problems with the sounds such as tritone not working or the unlock sound not playing. Now I have no problems at all. Also my phone seems a bit louder now.

No key lag in SMS, however I haven't tried the phone app yet.

Also no wiggle key bug as some one thought they had either.

If the backup didn't take 1000 minutes, I'd be done by now. Will that ever be fixed? Honestly, I wish it would backup the damn phone every month. There's no need to backup a phone EVERY DAY. It's a phone.

I've had 4 hour + backups as well, you're not alone :(

And the backup begins.... 3 plus hours last time.... should be done by 9 pm. lol.

god...the backup is taking FOREVVERRRRRR!!!

as said before ...you can press the X and stop the backup, then it just syncs. you don't HAVE to backup every time you know

Arggh!

This should be so simple to fix! It only got introduced in 2.0! It's not something relatively complex like reception issues.

How have we had two bug fix releases that haven't sorted it?

Phazer

Okay, having complained about this based on someone else's report, I am somewhat embarrassed to report that actually it does indeed seem to have been fixed. Certainly it is significantly better. The lag on the accelerometer is also better.

yeah same here no wiggle bug, yeah sometimes i have to think if my sounds play or not, yeah the sound is louder slightly clearer too, just checking simplified media see if thats any faster, louder, better?

It's so funny how people talk such crapola on the Internet. Seriously, it's like none of these people ever owned a computer or something...

OMG it's so much faster since the update!

Hey guys - restart your computers - they'll be much faster too!! WOW!

Firmware 2.0.2 doesn't make anything any faster.

Well, 2.02 is a little piece of ****. It's messed my phone up. Asked me to restore, then couldn't, gave me 'iPhone could not be restored. Unknown Error 6'.

So I d/l'ed the spearate update (2.02) tried that, got same message but unknown error 5.

So now d/ling 2.01 see if that works. Thanks Apple for a wonderful update (did anyone notice is sarcasm there?).

messed up???
What to do?

I got the same -19 error message. I tried again and then it went into a backup that would have taken all day. I cancelled that and it gave me another message. I think it was -23. To make a long story short, I did a restore and that did the trick.

everything's the same for me. had zero 3G before, zero 3G now.

great update.

edit: with 3G turned on before, it would go to EDGE quickly. now with 2.0.2, it takes a minute.

happy to say,
30 minutes from download to running 2.02.
Don't know what the fixes are but as long as netshare still works as stated on the homepage, I welcome any fixes. Hopefully I get 3g bars at my house now:)

An update can't really upgrade the cell towers in your area. Unless you looked up the 3G coverage map and you are in the heart of the 3G area AT&T cannot promise you'll get 3G coverage. It is just like normal service and "dead spots."

I'm not trying to be rude, but very few people understand that 3G is only in certain areas not where ever you get coverage.
