Absolutely pathetic.

Cue the Boise State haters.

Not unusual for a team like VT to lay an egg like this after a big loss
Makes your signature a little tarnished though
Might want to change it to: James Madison 21 Virginia Tech 16

You have a really good team regardless
Good luck the rest of the way

This just kills our public perception.

I think our hopes are still alive, but only just. We can't slip up at all.

The worst part is that we don't even have a game this weekend to make up for Virginia Tech's loss. If we played Wyoming today instead of next week, and we killed them by 30 or somethin, then maybe voters would still give us the benefit of the doubt. But as it is, we have no chance to remind voters how good we are.

Oh well, it's out of our hands. :)

All I have to say is what a freaking killer game. Big Blue pulls out a tough one against that other team that wears green. LOVED IT!!!!!! Man that kid can run by the way! Talking about Robinson, like him!!!!!

Looks like Tide is off to a great start!

I think if your team was to be put to the test week after week and proved they can beat the big boys week after week... maybe then you will get a little more respect!!!! Just a little... how much..... this much . . :D

In all fairness I have no feelings towards your team. Unless of course they beat either the Might Tide or Big Blue... well then we will have an issue! Well I will anyway..lol

I thought Miiiicihigan was going to give it away there for a while, but I'm glad they pulled it out. I'm not a huge Wolverine (or RichRod) fan, but I really don't like Notre Dame. :) So, not that a sophomore has won the Heisman a couple of times, can a freshman do it? 500 yards of total offense? Crazy!

I'm really surprised Oklahoma put such a beat-down on FSU. Wow. I also have to say all these FBS losses to FCS schools are crazy as well. Way to go, Va. Tech and Minnesota!

As an alum of WVU and currently living in VA. Last night's WVU win was a miracle, I got heckled by multiple friends that attended VT. However, we still eeked it out.

Today, however, I got sweet sweet revenge... JMU over VT? God, this feeling is awesome.

Given the way Alabama is totally dominating Penn State, they're going to be prohibitive favorites to win the BCS National Championship even before Mark Ingram returns....

I would love for us to be in a power conference so that we could truly prove ourselves. But we're not, and we can only play the schedule we have. But if we're able to do this much on our current budget, just imagine what we could do with a BCS budget!

I can not BELIEVE Denard Robinson! Are you kidding me?! What's funny is that we don't even know if Michigan has anyone else on their team. Heh. We'll find out once opponents start focusing their defenses on him. If Michigan has other talented players then they're gonna have a fun season, and look out Ohio State!

Haha, I am actually interested to see if The Game is actually a game this year, unlike the past three. I think it will be better, but the school up north has yet to play a challenging game, so we will see. Remember, they did start 4-0 last season. I do have to say, Denard Robinson did have an insane game today, and certainly wasn't a jerk or cocky about it either. Gotta give props for that, even if his school is a dirty word around these parts.

On a side note -- can Boise State please change that awful blue turf? It just looks bad and is on the cheap side in my opinion. Not hating on the team, they are most certainly good. I do think they would actually benefit from a more difficult schedule though, and it would make it a bit more fair to other teams looking at the title game. If you look at OSU's schedule, we play two high ranked teams in their house, and another two (or three depending on how the folks in blue do) tough games at home. That will be a pretty big challenge to get through without losing, while Boise State is going to cakewalk through the rest of the season and end up undefeated. If you don't play anyone and at least have the opportunity to lose, then that screws everyone else that actually has a tough schedule.

hard to be a csu fan is all I gotta say. effing embarrasing

Ugh. I guess that was payback for last year. Heh.

CSU is one of those really puzzling stories. How can a team start so well last year and then just fall apart? Is it a lack of execution? Poor coaching? Lack of talent?

Pretty crazy.

They weren't before? But yeah, it really isn't fair. "What's that? Our Heisman Trophy winning running back is out? No problem. Check out this guy. His BACKUP." Last season, Bama fans kept telling me that Ingram wasn't even the best back on the team. I think I believe them now.

One other thing: can they just go ahead and pull the automatic BCS bid for the ACC? Maybe we could give it to the Mountain West or something. They have been pathetic lately.

Sweet lemonade I hope Michigan beats Overrated State this year, but agree with you're point completely. Rich Rodriguez has really hitched his wagon to Pat White 2.0 in Robinson. Let's see what happens if [god forbid] the kid get's hurt and he has to use a QB that doesn't run a sub 4.4sec 40.

You are not the only one. I hate the buckeyes as much as any team from Florida! Hope we crush them! But a one point victory will do too!

Looks like Boise is still sitting at number 3. The ACC was exposed yesterday....

Not gonna lie, with as many consistently decent teams as the ACC has they surprisingly haven't had a lot of good non-conference games in recent years.

As far as Boise goes...this TCU fan can't wait to get you guys under the MWC umbrella. The more the merrier but sadly we may not see an automatic BCS berth from the MWC anywhere in our lifetime.

::poof:: goes Boise's BCS title chances. The really sad thing is that JMU was much more impressive against the Hokies than were the Broncos.

You watched the game? I was looking for it, but couldn't find it. Lame.

And last I checked we were still sitting comfortably at #3. The only thing that happened was Ohio State re-extending their lead. It can still happen.

Va. Tech's embarrassing loss, combined with the fact that we didn't play this weekend is why we lost some first-place votes. Had we played Wyoming this weekend and beat them by 30-40 points then some faith would have remained.

So we'll just have to remind them this next weekend.

And then again on the 25th when GameDay comes to Boise! :D

Nope, just screwing with you.

It won't. Some of the undefeated teams below Boise will start to jump them when they play "real" games. For instance, Texas plays Tech, UCLA and OU in the next three weeks. If they win all three of those, they will jump Boise. Same with OU. After destroying FSU, they've got Air Force, Cincinnati and Texas coming up. Win all three and they will jump Boise. Oregon may jump you if they beat Stanford in three weeks (if Stanford is unbeaten at the time). Iowa and Nebraska also will have chances to beat (multiple) ranked teams in the near future, and doing so will be much more impressive than anything Boise has done/will do at that point.

Boise's whole hope this season was predicated on beating a "very good" Virginia Tech team in (essentially) a road venue. Now that VT has lost to a I-AA team, that win is no longer a "quality" win. The only chance you have left is to beat Oregon State, but since TCU already did that, some of the shine has come off. Boise's only hope now is that a situation arises like a few years ago when all the contenders have one or two losses, and even then it might not be enough if those losses are to other top teams.
