Well this game is over. As much as I would love to see a comeback, i just don't think it's possible after that last interception.

Auburn and the NCAA were both going to take a hit on this regardless of what they did
They would rather clean it up on the backside after the dust settles, rather than the front side
They hope everyone is stupid enough to believe them, or to not care
Let's win the championship and the Heisman and then run a retraction on the back page later where nobody will notice we effed up

USC should be screaming, as should others (and they are)
If this were a 7-4 Auburn team he would have been done mid season
But there were so many "feel good" stories about him prior to the scandal(s)
(Lets not forget the legal problems and the cheating at Florida)

He is the best player
His team is an undefeated SEC team
He has engineered 8 comebacks, some incredible (South Carolina, Georgia, Bama)
He has big smile

He is the poster child for everything the NCAA and Auburn wants
Except he is a thief, a cheater and a mercenary
But why let any of that get in the way?

If some out SC beat Auburn I would not be surprise if magically the NCAA will come back and say that Auburn has to forfeit all their wins and start the punishments on them.
All it proves to me is the NCAA is worthless. Courpt and does not even enforce its own rules. If you are a big school you can get away with just about anything.

Welp, it's official - Oregon and Auburn. In spite of all the BS, it should be a hell of a game.

And has anyone heard from evilgEEk?

I have been wondering that as well. I figure after a few days the drunken stoopor would of worn off.

I asked about him a couple days after. Still no word from him yet. This could be ugly. Beer and pizza stains on the floor and furniture. Hasn't showered in x amount of days. No one has seen him at work/school. Poor guy is taking it hard.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I can't stand either of them. Nick Fairly is also freaking cheap shot artist.

Did you see the just-post-game interview? I am SEC champion..I am SEC champion. Not we, not us, I. Real classy, that one. By classy, I mean a piece of crap.

This would have been over and dealt with had the BCS people not wanted to do everything they could to keep TCU out of the title game. I guess Oregon-TCU isn't as interesting as Oregon-Cam (he doesn't need a team because he's SEC Champion).

Oh wait, Auburn is graduating 23 seniors this year, including their entire offensive line. Let's see how he does next season, since he definitely won't be leaving early for the NFL.

Good game going on in Dallas.

I just wish they could both lose.

It is pretty good. I don't really care about either team, but I think it would be a fitting send-off if Nebraska left the Big 12 as conference champs. Kind of a "see what you'll be missing" type thing. I do have to admit that it would be entertaining if Nebraska loses to see an eruption of Mt. Pelini.

What a joke. An unranked, 4 loss team going to a BCS bowl. We went 8-4 and finished in 5th place in our own division. They go 8-4, win their conference, and go to a BCS bowl. Hmm... I wonder if the Big Least is still looking for more members. We could be conference champs!

Well gent's after it's all said and done we had one hell of a Conference Championship Saturday eh? Couple of comments and observations:

Oregon vs Auburn
Welcome to the Defense is Optional BCS Championship Bowl! :D
I'm highly interested in this matchup as it WILL come down to the team that has the ball last. Speaking of which...how flippin lucky was Auburn on that last second TD before half?!
I wonder if Scam Newton continually threw out the, "I'm a blessed individual..." because he knew his dad would/did sell his soul to the Dark Overlord?

UCONN and VTECH and Washington
Props to both teams for winning their conference. It is kind of a bummer to have a team with 4 losses and a team that lost to a non D-I school play in BCS games but...really interested to see who they will matchup with in the BCS. Props to Jake Locker for coming back and getting his squad bowl eligible.

OU vs Nebraska
Shame on you Fuskers [;)] for dropping the ball and allowing OU to get back into the game after being down by 17! Can't stress enough the importance of putting a team away and winning the turnover margin. I thought defense was the strength of their team? They lost both the last two years championships by an total of..wait for it....4 points. Somewhere in cold north Ndamukong Suh is shaking his head.

Boise State vs Utah State
I thought for sure there would be an evilgEEk sighting today after the win.

Not so... the stage had already been set to send Auburn to the BCS Championship even if they had lost, claiming them to be the best one loss team and better than TCU. They were gonna have this matchup regardless, and if corruption, lying, cheating, $$$ weren't gonna stand in the way, one little loss wouldn't stand in the way either.

Well, it looks like Utah vs Boise State in the Vegas Bowl is a done deal. I don't think we can hang with the Broncos this year; we have no pass rusher and no true free safety. Moore to Young and Pettis will burn us all night. Not to mention, we lost our starting QB due to injury. Hate to say it, but it looks like my Utes end the nation's longest bowl win streak (9 in total) on December 22 with a curb stomping of epic proportions.

Still, we have a chance...

Go Utes!

Just came home from watching TCU implode their stadium. They're starting a $105M renovation tomorrow.

Here's a video of the implosion.

I wish I could say this in some way that didn't sound rude ... but they are a gimmick. They don't just line up and play football, they have Coach Klein writing in his notebook, coming up with all kinds of "trickery" to give them an edge, since they'd lose horribly if they just lined up and played smash mouth football. Flea flicker, check (but failed); statue of liberty, check, qb punting, check; qb receiving, check. I just kept waiting to see an oop-de-oop pass to an O-lineman and it would've been just like some feel good football team movie.

Not to dredge up old topics, but watching Auburn run trick play after trick play in the first quarter yesterday reminded me of this. What do you think, SLC? Is Auburn a gimmick team that couldn't compete without these tricks?

If you implode your stadium, I think it has gone beyond "renovations". I think that has crossed into "new stadium" territory. :)

Where will TCU play next year? I noticed the new stadium won't be finished until the 2012 season.

Oh yeah, Auburn is a gimmick team that can't win without paying their players.

I'd argue money was standing in the way, as if it had been Oregon and TCU, no one would watch it, and no one would come.

Quack Quack!
