And some people love blindly no matter the evidence. Tebow was the #1 QB recruit coming out of high school and the first person Urban Meyer talked to when he took the job at FU. No one tells that kind of player that he a) can't get a D-1 scholarship b) can't win a Heisman trophy and c) can't win a national championship. In fact, everyone tells that kind of player the exact opposite.
Really? I am the ignorant one huh?
🙄
Tebow didn't even play QB in HS until his Junior Year...He was told by the first school he went to that he was a MLB and they didn't want him at QB. So he transferred to Nease where the coach let him play QB. He was then while being recruited always by critics said to be only a scrambler and would never be able to be a functional QB in the SEC.
Even after a stellar freshmen campaign at UF it was highly doubted he would ever been as good as Chris Leak..Yes..Chris Leak!
The fans knew he would be good because if you paid attention, he always threw in games great with limited chances. I really feel Urban was saving him to bombard him on the SEC in 2007 like he did.
Even after a performance like no one in CFB has seen his true sophmore year, thousands of people said he wasn't good enough, wasn't a good passer, and should not win the Heisman. Mind you this was after playing a Top 5 SOS schedule on a team that lost 27 seniors and 3 early to transfers. He still managed to put up 55 TD's and outscored alone many of Floridas rivals entire team...He was also the first QB ever to run for 20+ TD's and pass for 20+ TD's in a season.
In 2008, all the media hyped on was how he is good but cant lead his team to victories, kindly leaving out the fact the team was playing 20 some freshmen in the two deep and had 10 players starting who had never started before. The loss to Miss State came, then the promise, and then the utter destruction of the rest of CFB ensued..At least this killed the myth he couldn't lead his team to victory after two of the most impressive performances on big stages I have ever seen in leading a comeback in the SEC Championship game against Alabama, and then Oklahoma in the National Title Game. This accomplished something that has never been done in CFB history, a team beating the #1 ranked team in the country in two straight weeks.
In 2009, he merely had another great year stat and record wise, but lost to Bama, and then went out to destroy Cincy in the Sugar Bowl for a "lackluster" 13-1 season.
So in 4 years at UF, he was
13-1
9-4
13-1
13-1
48-7...not to shabby..He was also a part of the winningest class in SEC history.
At the end of his CFB career, he had more rushing TD's than Hershel Walker, more passing TD's than Peyton Manning...Just think about that..
Here are the other accomplishments he had while at UF...

Sorry, but that is about as impressive as a resume as one can have...And after all of that, he still got **** on and bashed for 4-6 months before the draft saying they don't know if he is good enough for the NFL and would never be taken in the first round...
After he is taken in the first round, "they" say he will never play for 2-3 years and will be nothing but an H-back if he does play...Well imagine that, he is starting by the end of the year, and even manages to win NFL Rookie of the Week TWICE during this season in which he would be useless. While amassing a humble record so far in the NFL, he led a great 17 point comeback against the Texans in which he played nearly flawless the fourth quarter and ran in the game winning touchdown with a minute and a half left...
Yea, the kid has had it easy and was never doubted his entire life...
