Whats everyones opinions on dates for the refresh then?
i know most people are saying the 26th or the 3rd but id like some explanations ;)

They're based on the idea that Apple releases new products on Tuesdays and 1 rumor saying that the new iMacs will be released at the end of April, beginning of May. Add to that the decrease in iMac availability at multiple places and you've got yourself an educated guess.

I am pretty embarrassed to be one of those people guessing, it's best not to take it so seriously but the indicators are pointing to "soon."

If you have based your guess on the reasons I have pointed out then there is no need to be embarrassed. An educated guess is not for nothing called educated.

OOOOOH Maybe Apple giving off hints.

You most likely will see the 2120 3.3 as the standard entry level processor on the 21.5, if there is a 21.5. As the price is the same as the current i3 540
Maybe, but if they did they couldn't offer a faster option (aside from quad-core) for the next model up as they do now.

No that's just about the old iMacs. Click on that link and it takes you to the iMac page where right under a picture of the old iMac it even says: "Introducing the new iMac. Now with a new processor architecture and faster graphics."

This might be a good sign... best Buy is having a big sale on iMacs in their online store, today only.

The local futureshop, is saying it has no more Apple iMac 27" Intel Core i3 3.2GHz models and only 3 Apple iMac 27" Intel Core i5 2.8GHz models.

I don't think the lack of availability of iMacs at a single location of a large chain retailer is a very reliable indication of imminent updates. It's not usual for a sinlge Best Buy store to run out of a particular iMac model even when there's not an update on the horizon.

All of the iMac models listed on Best Buy's website still ship within one day; same with Amazon.com. IIRC availability has been a little more sparse (especially at the online Apple Store) when updates are only two days away. I think we might be looking at May 2 for the new iMacs to be released...but hey, what do I know? ;)

I have been going back and forth with when to get imacs .. i have decided i shall not wait till july for imac with pre installed lion - which was the original plan .. i have decided to buy it within 2 weeks of imac refreshing ... with snow leopard and hopefully i will be able to learn the os and move over to lion when it comes out ... if im paying £2000 .. few more quid aint gona break the bank exactly ... hell yea that means i could be gettin my first ever mac in may? MAC IN MAY! YAY! ...

I have no girlfriend, but I still got issues
When I sneeze I always use a tissue

isn't it misleading when they say on imac page - the new all in one imac ... featuring a new processor architecture and faster graphics .. one could think it has sandy bridge ?

but i guessing the new imac will say something like Groundbreaking New I/O and 2nd gen core i processors .. our best imac in 2011 ;)

Not really, when you consider 90% of people visiting that page probably won't be Mac Rumors members checking it for the 5th time that day to make sure it's not been updated. Chances are if you said Sandy Bridge to the average iMac user it wouldn't mean very much.

Wish List

My wishlist is simple. Beer holder on right side. Oh yea, maybe a flip-out ashtray on left side. Is a holographic type screen too much to ask for?....Maybe it would be lol.....Whatever they do, you can bet it will be fast and furious!.....OK OK Apple, all I really want is the beer holder. Either side is fine..... :apple:

It is still pretty misleading. It says the iMac is new even though it's already 9 months old.

So is this Wednesday/Thursday no longer a possibility? I ask as I now believe Tuesday won't happen but a launch with the iPhone is that possible?
